Finally a video on youtube that started with a quick intro and started right away with what video is all about! No 15 minute bullshit before you get to see what you want to see. You have a wonderful wife too btw : D
Hey Danny just want to say I love that you push the boundaries of these devices. If they advertise a capability we have a responsibility to keep these manufacturers measured to their specs... Best from Colorado.
Great video have the same drone and these videos help a lot. Going to be using active track on my boat up here on Shasta Lake so your videos are giving me a lot of good tips. Don't get frustrated at the wife LOL
It would be interesting to see the battery life in the screen recording while getting away from the Homepoint. With my Spark I had the posibility to renew the homepoint automaticly frequently during active track. I didn' t find it with my Mavic Air 2.
In Canada you aren’t allowed to be operating the drone as well as driving the vehicle, whether that’s a car, boat, bike. And the active track I have certainly notices that because the drone angles itself so severely the fast you fly, the downward sensors are no longer pointed at the ground so the drone believed it is higher above the ground than it actually is. So especially in sport mode, because of the severity of the bank angle, you really need to watch your height AGL and manually make the drone climb if you are on rising terrain because the drone will eventually impact the ground if you aren’t watching it.
I already know about the quality, performance and features of the Mavic Air 2 build, photography quality, and the DJI Fly app. But have not taken off due to not mastering the flight parameters like?
I can be a little intimidating. Just be sure to fly in either Tripod or Normal mode with all of ths sensors turned on. Always have the drone moving forward, and avoid too much side to side flying and you should be good.
Hello dear friend, do you know about the issue of stress cracked on the Mavic Air 2? I see many people complaining about that problem lately and many of them only having the drone for about one month or two. If possible please let us know what’s the reason for that issue and if DJI are aware that problem and what we should do if the drone is under warranty. Should DJI refund the money or replace for a brand New one. Best Regards from Cleveland. Jorge Rebelo
Great video.. Can’t believe how fast you were going and the drone keep up with you. I’m a little more conservative -I fly my drone at lower speeds and just speed up the film in post processing..
Hope you don’t mind me questioning, but You don’t set the drone looking correctly at the truck when in parallel mode. The angle of the road wasn’t 90’ to the right, it was more of a 45 so the truck drove away in an unexpected way for the software to recognise the forward motion correctly, hence why the drone don’t really move with you at first to keep that ‘side on’ view. Would be nice to see you try it again with the frame set correctly and see the drone fly sideways to the right to keep you in frame 👍🏼 thanks for the great content. 🙏🏽
I've done that several times. It doesn't matter where you put the drone, it won't stay at a 90 degree angle. It's parallel mode, not perpendicular mode. Only the Skydio will stay out there.
Interesting how you set the height at around 55 ft. But then the further you drive the higher the height showed on the app, despite the fact that the drone looked like it had actually LOST elevation. Or was i imagining that?
Thank u!!!! So what exactly is trace v parallel . It seemed parallel or to the side on parallel but nearly the same otherwise? Is trace supposed to be view from rear and parallel more view from side? Thx!!!! I’m going to go go to :25 seconds in and watch your others now. Subscribed!!! Thx
Thanks for watching. Trace is supposed to be from behind. Parallel is mostly from the side, but not at a 90 degree angle, more like a 45. It will fall directly behind in parallel if you are going fast.
@@uosocal does the DJI mini air 2 not have this feature? Also , fir those that can trace or go parallel, are they following the pic u square on iPhone or are they following the remote with phone - as in can I sit at a park and trace my kid going down the mountain where I’m holding the remote
I have never flown the mini 2. I'm pretty sure it does not have active track. Check the DJI website. The Mavic 2 & 2s use the image on your phone to lock onto a subject. It does not follow the remote. Your phone screen has to stay on while tracking.
I know it's an older video, but the focused testing you did over time with active track added a wealth of information for the community. I saw that Bush collision coming as you lost altitude between your home point and where you were filming. Also, you said FCC, LOL! I know... you meant FTD. But flowers by drone is still in its infancy, so all is forgiven. 🤪
Hi, how did you manage to use active track with sport mode? DJI said it is not possible (despite what the manual says) and I cannot get Mavic air 2 into active track when in sports mode. It just stops. Any ideas? Thanks!
It should work in Sport Mode, just with the sensors off. Make sure you are locked onto the subject. A person or vehicle icon should appear at the bottom of the sqaure. If neither appear, you are not locked onto the subject. Also, the MA2 will only track a person up to about 20mph no matter which mode you're in. It will only track at full speed if the vehicle icon appears.
@@uosocal thanks very much. Does it still work on your drone, even with the most recent drone software/firmware and the most recent version of the fly app? Thanks!
@@uosocal ok, it may be then that it’s no longer available (which would not be great considering the paperwork / manual has not changed) - thanks very much!
Great reviews from Active track 3.0. I'm still in the process of chosing my first ever drone. Mini or Air 2 but Active track is definitely one of the big ones...can you still carry it easily (travel, holidays...)? The video quality is amazing. Thanks bro?😃👍
Great vid and specs with the active track. It looks like the desert where I fly south of Las Vegas. I have AZ Screen Recorder and I noticed an out of sync with the sound and video on my recordings. I noticed on your height when you clipped the brush, it showed 150 feet, but when you were up high, it only showed 55 feet. Wondering if that same sync happened to your video.
The drone is not measuring your actual attitude. It is only measuring your height from your launch point. That way the drone will know when you've flown up 400 feet from your launch point.
Awesome flight Sir. Man that was actually pretty damn good piloting brother Andre. Keep up the good job. Thanks soo much for sharing buddy. I also have the Dji Mavic Air 2 drone and i am loving 🥰 it. I thought parallel would mean the drone would track from the side and move sideways or at worse turn the gimbal to face the subject hmm.. impressed by the top speed of tracking though and nice vistas around there. Wish you did one with the drone going backwards and filming the front of the vehicle. maybe next time :)
I thought parallel would be from the side as well. But, parallel and perpendicular are two different things. The 45 degree angle is about as good as it gets. In my most recent video, I did some spotlight tracking from the front of my truck. Active Track will not stay directly in front of you for more than a couple of seconds.
Nice Video. I am wondering whether you can raise the altitude manually during active track mode. Also, I notice that the Home point was not updating while driving, what would happen in case of a transmission disconnection or low battery? keep it up with the good content
Hi thanks for the video, have you tried tracking in POI instead? You get better side profiles but obviously no side sensors so you have to pick your terrain carefully. I’m hopping the new update recognises bikes as vehicles rather than the pedestrian on them and goes faster. If the drone has to climb, it has to go slower to put power into gaining altitude instead of forward speed
I have not tried tracking in POI. I have done some focus tracking. Next video. Im going out tomorrow to shoot some more, ill try POI. I hope they update the icons soon.

how do you activate the track
You have to draw a box around your subject. Then, select which mode( Active Track, Spotlight, or POI), and hit go.
