    The best thing is that as of 2023, the Mavic Air 2/S now works with the RM 500 Smart Controller, which really ups the game! I love my Mini 2 and Air 2.

    Is an exception when a TH-cam says things that make sense also for a professional and don't give wrong or misleading dangerous information.

    I didn't have to charge the batteries one by one the first time. They charged in the 3 dock charger not all at once but sequentially. It is the best drone I've ever flown

    • @ConnorRickey
      @ConnorRickey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, they will always charge sequentially. My batteries would not even charge sequentially on the dock. Had to go 1 at a time. Weird...

      @@ConnorRickey I bought a charging dock for my DJI Spark that can charge 4 batteries and a rechargeable controller at the same time. Bought one from the same company for the Mavic Air 2. Much better than the charger that comes with it. At 35 bucks it's a heck of a buy

    regarding calibration, when I first got my drone I'd do the twist and rotate routine, but soon realized the drone would orientate itself, it sets the new Return to home by itself.

  • @RONALDSCHULTE
    @RONALDSCHULTE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Rickey, in the compass calibration, DJI says you have to keep the drone vertical and then rotate it 360 degrees in the longitudinal axis. I can really see that you rotate the drone on the side and then rotate the drone 360 degrees. It is not prescribed that way!

    Very good and comprehensive video. One little thing, though: there is no need to first-time charge the batteries on the single charge cable. The multi charger works fine. The batteries will be charged consecutively, one after the other until fully charged, never at the same time. That appears to be the same with any DJI battery in any device. I have a DJI Spark where the same happens - one battery gets charged until full then it rotates to the next.

    I got the Air 2 to play with and learn until the Mavic 3 arrives in early spring. I hear both good and bad about it, but we will have to wait until it arrives on the shelves to know for sure what it is... I want a better camera and 360-degree sensors so I can fly with less strain on the nerves...

    Very informative video and easy to understand. Can you share me your gimbal setting for Tripod, Normal and Sport mode? Thanks

    • @ConnorRickey
      @ConnorRickey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have my gimbal setting for tripod mode set very slow (can’t remember the exact number, away from my drone for the next few days). That’s because when I’m in that mode I’m usually shooting for those slow, cinematic movements. Then normal and sport mode I leave as it comes from DJI since if I’m flying the drone faster, I’m usually doing quicker gimbal pans for a more dramatic shot.

    ...AND REMEMBER when you change the ND filter on the camera you have to TWIST counter (anti) clockwise to release the lens cover (or filter). DO NOT pull on the filter straight out or you will break it.
    2. only use .mov if you use apple. It's a format not entirely compression.
    3. If you have a high end GPU .h265 video files are half the size with the same quality for 4K. Older GPUs might have issues playing these back.
