Really nice Shishigashira Jonny, congratulations for finding it and at that price it was a win,win deal.
What a coincedence. I bought the same species yesterday. It's 1/3 the size of yours. But for 20 euro's 🙂
The lady at the garden center told me that only a few had arrived. And this one was the last. So I was lucky.
Sweet deal!
Thank you for very informative channel. I have free compost available by the city I live in. However, I don't think it drains fast enough to be the optimal soil for potting a Japanese maple tree. What would you recommend for making it a more suitable, faster draining soil? Add perlite in different proportions, until I get the pace of draining similar to what is seen on this video?
Add Perlite and soil conditioner (available at garden centers in bags). That is what I have been adding and I like the results so far. Mix enough until you are happy with the drainage.
what city did you buy your Shishi?
