I’ve failed to keep seedlings alive that I’ve dug up for about three years in a row. Found your channel and this year they aren’t dead and are growing. Want to give you a big thanks!!!

Thanks for the tips man. I recently was given a seedling from my cousin who grew out a seedling from her mom (my aunt) who took a seed from my grandparents home from her childhood. I now have a 6 inch Japanese maple tree that goes back to before I was born and I’m 50 years old. Your videos are valuable to me as is this little tree. Thank you!

I remember some time back you were testing with a small batch of seedlings sold amongst your followers; are you still offering them to the public?
I’m truly happy to see how far you have come with your setup, last time I came across your videos, you were in the process of renovating the space, congratulations!!!!

I sow 6 different japanese maple seeds bought online from 3 different markets/sellers just to be somewhat sure that I got some viable seeds and they were planted exact same way. Only the Acer Palmatum summer gold popped up over a month ago but seeing that you also have some that havnt come up I have some hope that maybe they will come up haha. they were planted in october.

I have a question for you 🙋‍♂️ , do Japanese Maple seeds need Scarification in order to germinate? Do they need Scarification? Do they need it? Yes or no? Do Japanese Maple seeds need to be scratched? I hope you can answer my questions.

Do you have a video link about planting up maple cuttings please and thank you.. also what can I do to the cuttings in the winter after I repot them ..I don’t have a green house and the cuttings will be Glinda and tender ..do I just leave them out in the open

This year I plan on leaving my cuttings in my Zone 8 garden outside all fall/winter and not pot them up out of the propagation tray until the following spring. Disturbing the tender roots in the fall has led to quite a few not making it.

Jonny where can I buy maple seeds ? Thanks

I recommend picking them yourself this fall from any local trees in your area that you have permission to pick from. The seeds you buy will be years old and will have much lower germination rates.

@@JonnyMaple thanks for the information. And do you sell small trees? Do you have an online shop? Thanks

Where can you buy seeds? I'd like to grow them from seed as a project.

I would recommend picking some fresh seed this fall. Find a tree in your area and get permission to pick the seed in October or November. The seed you buy will be old, and dry and have a much lower germination rate.

From one tray I potted up somewhere around 600 trees! I am going to have many thousands...

Wild-that sounds like enough to become a supplier for some nurseries. Should be a satisfying couple of years!
