It is very much of its time, brings me right back there every time I hear it, as does Big Log, Little by Little, Tall Cool One, Ship of Fools...All these and more were beloved in their time, I can remember as if it were yesterday, damn where'd those days go...

As an 80s metalhead, simply one of the best songs every recorded. The solo, the vocals, the drums, the snap of the snare, the crispness of the cymbals, the clarity and funk of the bass, the guitar tone, the chorus, the backing vocals, the esoteric keys at the end. There's just some songs it's just kind of hard to imagine what the world would be without an artist getting an amazing band and making it a reality.

ROBERT PLANT, if you read this, I want to THANK YOU for your music, both solo and Led Zeppelin. I am a black old school music lover. My 3 closest friends in high school were also black. This was early 80s. In the 9th grade we all were Led Zeppelin fans. Our school was 95% black. In the 9th, people thought we were weird for listening to Led Zeppelin. By our senior year, we had the whole damn school into Led Zeppelin! Our school marching unit even played Cashmir! One of my favorite clips of you and Jimmy Page is in the movie THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME when you all are playing the feedback, your voice and Jimmy with the violin bow, just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! I saw Robert in Las Vegas in the early 1990’s on his Fate of Nations tour. I believe he performed this great tune that night. He joked about the fact that the large sign outside the building had his name listed below Englebert Humperdinck’s name. Being the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, he thought that was hilarious. The audience agreed. Robert should have had top billing.

I was born in 74, I was fortunate to have had a family that was of led zeppelin era and so as I grew up my home was always playing led zeppelin as others from late 60s and 70s and so as I got older through the 80s with Robert going solo my mom played his albums and you could hear it all through the house as she was humming and singing along while getting ready for work....she's gone now but I thank her for raising me to this music 💓

My all time favorite Robert Plant song. All time

  • @canadude6401
    @canadude6401 4 ปีที่แล้ว +78

My favorite Robert Plant song. It's just so good even several decades later.
It's one of those songs that you think can only be accomplished by a band with 10 years behind them, but most of these guys are session musicians!
And we all know session musicians rarely get any credit!
The guitar work from Robbie Blunt at 2:20 is outstanding.
    Then, if that wasn't enough....
at 3:06 some wonderful synchronized music here with synth, bass and drums. Works so well together
    punchy bass from Paul Martinez
smooth synth lines from Gerald Woodroffe
and last but certainly not least the multi-talented Phil Collins on drums.
So glad we didn't lose Robert to addiction, suicide, etc. Led Zep was excellent and then he kept going! He's still recording these days at age 71!
That is my definition of Rock star hero!

the peak of rock and roll was 70s&80s man these songs are real music that gripped our generation and made all of us legends when we would lean up on the front fender of a 78 Buick catalina and jam the factory speakers the fuck out just jamming all night drinking beer outta a card board box filled with ice and smoking some badass weed all joints back then and bongs fuuuuck those were the days man ✌🤘🖕👍

Lifer CFH I’m not disagreeing with you or disrespecting your opinion but at the time this album came out, I used to hear people criticizing 80s music for not having any meaning. I didn’t agree with them but I chuckled when I saw your comment just because of how opinions have changed since then. Rock on.

Do you know that Mr Plant went to the deep deep South and studied our "Blues". He has always been in love with the blues and it definitely shows. Go back and really listen to Led Zeppelin and you can hear those blues in almost every song they wrote and did. Wonderful! They were and still are the best. Robert Plant still is. I've only loved him since 1969. Everyone wanted and tried to sound like him. No one ever could! He is one of a kind and the best! Thank you for your talent! Love and peace...

Pop-locking + Break-dancing + Robert Plant + Phil Collins = A masterpiece. I'm sure Mr. Plant could already start to see that even in it's fledgling state, there was something about hip-hop that was interesting and exciting that was never seen or heard before.
