@marianfrances4959 My heart is with you! ❤️ I lost my 8 year old Son 35 years ago this June 5. I was 8 months pregnant with my youngest Son who was born that July. His birth saved me from a very dark place. We’ll carry their LOVE with us always! Not even death can take that away! 🥰
Unfortunately our family knows the loss of a child. Our daughter passed away 10 years ago. It is a gut wrenching, drop to your knees agony. You find you have 2 choices, curl up in a ball or stand up, because your wife and other child or children need you. And your spouse / partner knows you need them. You realize you have to go back to work, school and everybody knows your misfortune. You lose many / most friends because they have children and don’t know what to do or say. You dread the question “ Do you have any children”. As time passes, the gut wrenching pain subsides as you get used to the new unnormal normal. You sit in your car alone and cry, but then see and hear little things in life that you know are messages from Heaven. Life is not easy for everyone, life is a challenge for everyone. Just remember how strong you are and have empathy, sympathy & compassion toward people….try and be a good kind person.
What a beautiful thing to say. My heart goes out to you and your family. Watch and listen for those little messages that remind you of your child. He/she is with you always. God bless you and your family. I wish you well. ❤😊

I lost a grandaughter on christmas eve,2020,she was 9 months old,she was a twin,we still have her sister,my kids were completely lost,as were my husband and I,the only thingwe could do was push aside our own pain and just help them any way that thay needed ,3 yrs later they are better, but our family will never be the same.we just try to pour all the love we have into all of them.
I’ve lost two sons now. I’m so close to my granddaughter, if anything happened to her, I don’t know how I’d cope with it. As a Grandparent I understand how you’ve had to B here to help your family cope. I know I’d be he sane but completely devastated too.
Losing 3 of my kids in my 53 years on earth was the hardest thing to ever experience. 1 to SIDS, and 2 to overdoses....the pain never goes away, it just comes and goes in waves.
I saw this man perform fairly recently at a small intimate gig. I was sat at the front and all the while I wanted to to pinch myself for seeing him right there in front of me and preforming as well as he ever did. What a great musician and humble person he is.
He is such a wonderful and humble man! I too lost 2 children, one at 3 1/2 months and the other at 16 years, it is the greatest tragedy a parent could ever go through and no one can even comprehend it unless they’ve gone through it also, we played stairway to heaven at my 16 year old funeral and that one song is what helped me get through the day and every now and then when I’m driving and that song comes on the radio I know my boys are with me
Dan Rather is a class act. His compassionate nature, kind tone, and the fact that he REALLY listens makes him a gem on an interviewer. Seeing him having a chat with Robert Plant about such a sensitive topic was really moving. A great interview - thank you!
I had 2 children kidnapped from me yrs ago. via family court system. mother was a big time psychopath. Living with that pain, you can never feel normal again...
A true legend of a man. I was walking to interview his band in 92 and he walked by me saw the promo package in my hand ,told his bodyguard to stand down and engaged me in a short conversation with autograph as bystanders gaped😮

I lost my son 15yrs ago, I never had another Child, It is something no parent should have to bury there child, nothing anyone can say to make it better,R.I.P Son Robert. I named him after Robert Plant ❤️
It’s so refreshing listening to an articulate musician. The majority speaking as if they have been lobotomized, yo bro bro, bro, like you know like yo bro
They weren’t only band mates but they were close friends! I really think that if John had lived we would see a zeppelin tour every few years! Without his best friend he wasn’t interested in Zeppelin anymore, to him it would never be the same!
I love it when you hear someone talk and they’re telling a story and the friend or loved one is there. I heard some fairly recent interview with Plant and he’s telling a story about Bonham encouraging him to come back to the group in the last period, going to pick him up and saying something like “Come on Percy, you can do it, it will be okay.” And it’s like Bonham is there saying that. ❤️
John Bonham and his wife Pat, were the ones who were “present” and helped Robert & Maureen with their horrific grief. He also talked Robert into getting back into the band again after Karac died, and to not become a schoolteacher, like Robert was planning on doing. A great friend. So sad about Bonzos early demise.
The rock and roll hall of fame is lame, and a total sham. Don’t understand why someone should be inducted twice, yes he did become a solo artist but his name is still in the hall as a member of Led Zeppelin. He would not have had the exposure if he started as a solo artist.
A lot of interviewers today could take such a lesson here from Dan Rather. Actually listen to the answer to your question… No need to interrupt. No need to turn it around upon yourself. Ask the question and LISTEN to the answer.
I saw him interviewed on Swedish TV around fifteen years ago, also a very good interview and he seemed very relaxed and at ease - certainly more at ease than in the mid-seventies I think. At one point, the host of the talk show had decided to stage a joke and had a couple of musicians "play a song backwards" - I forget which Zep song it was, but it was a reference of course to the rumours of mystery backwards messages in Zeppelin songs. Robert was immediately in on the spoof, it was an idea he clearly enjoyed. It more or less sounded like chaos, of course... Then after a while, when the band had switched to playing "Custard Pie" instead, the normal way. he feigned surprise: "Hey! Now they are not playing backwards anymore?!" 😁😆
I’ve loved Robert Plant since I was 14 in 1971, the best time to grow up in…the 70’s. Losing a child at that age had to be so very heartbreaking 💔 I’m so sorry that tragedy happened to him and his wife, I’m glad they had another son to love.
They didn’t but he did….with his sister-in-law. So, Robert Plant’s daughter lost her younger brother, but gained a half brother who is also her 1st cousin, since her aunt (her mom’s sister) is his mother.
@@TheBOG3 Robert and his wife, Maureen, went on to have another son together, Logan, who was born in 1972. Plant later had an affair with his wife's sister, Shirley, with whom he had a third son, Jesse, who was born in 1979. Jesse is half brother to Logan and Carmen.
@@celticgold4028 Thanks. Yeah, I looked it up. I forgot that him and Maureen had another son besides Karac. Jesse is the half brother and full 1st cousin to Carmen and Logan. That probably bumps them up to the equivalent of being at least three quarter siblings.
I could never imagine the pain of losing a son or daughter, especially so young.. My Grandmother lost her son when he was just 6 years old, and she cried every night until her passing.

I understand the pain you went through. I lost my son as well almost two years ago.... Thank you for sharing your story... I now know I am not alone with this heartache
It’s extremely heartbreaking loosing a child so young. I’m blessed that my first born was around as long as he was as an adult , passed in 2007. When Robert Plant speaks of Karac and his other son Logan and sees both of them intertwined , it’s heartwarming. Family and community are everything, thankfully his loved ones have that .
I feel bad he and his family had to endure the loss of his beautiful son. And Robert is such a humble person as you can see here in this video clip. I once told him during one of his first solo tours that he was the greatest singer and he smiled, sorta blushed while shaking his head no. I said your wrong, you are the best and he said thank you. As always he was remarkable that night and several other times that I've seen him. If you like his music make sure you see him on tour....he's great. Thanks again Robert.
My favorite band!! I got to see them in concert three times back in the 70’s!!! God bless you Mr. Plant and thank you for making me happy. Much love and respect for you. ❤😊
Having lost a young child myself during that same time period, the way he spoke of it was as accurate as anything I have ever heard or probably could have even articulated myself. 40+ years, its always there, but how he spoke of the changes over time, and the child that came after, took my breath away a little.
Robert has the most beautiful smile. He is very special❤I’ve been a Zeppelin fan forever I never saw them in concert however I was able to see Robert when I was living in Cincinnati in the 90s and it was emotional & wonderful🥲
Musings from the master lyricist, musician and more importantly, a terrific emotionally intelligent man. I love watching Robert’s interviews he’s so articulate and well spoken, many times cheeky but serious here because of the topic. “Karac was a little nature boy, he was a mountain man” stands out to me. I love the mountains too, Robert. Thank you for the music of our lifetimes. 💖
I love him so much, he is so from another time so wise, humble, greateful and down to earth.❤🙏 He is right you love everything around you, cuz one day people you love are here the next they can be gone.😭
Thank you Mr. Rather! So many of us appreciate you more than words can express. I appreciate how open and natural this conversation with Mr. Plant was. You are both worthy of legend status. 🙏
There is no pain like losing a child. It is a heartache that can never be filled. It is on your mind when you go to bed and get up and constantly on your mind in the background. From one who has been here.
There is no pain like the loss of a child, none. We lost our 28-year-old son in 2013 and without our faith in God, I couldn't have made it. A friend who also lost child said, "welcome to the club no one wants to be in but connects us forever". We learn so much during times of loss and pain. We celebrate Nelson, the things he loved and the wonderful times we had together. We look forward to our great reunion in heaven.
My late best friend lost a daughter at 15..he never really got over it. I view death much differently now, as someone who believes in heaven and afterlife, I believe we are here for a very short time in comparison to the afterlife, and because of my strong faith and belief in God, I think of it as something wonderful for someone who has moved "onwards and upwards " . This was the case when my mother died suddenly in 2018, and I'm grateful for that belief. Always thought of Robert Plant as one of the "good guys " in an industry where they are too few and far between!
I too share your views here. I most certainly believe in a God & an afterlife but not necessarily in the traditional sense that we all meet up in a place called heaven, I believe we all move on to our next personal journey wherever that maybe, reincarnated again on earth or in another realm. God takes us to where we need to be, each & every one of us, so we shouldn’t mourn the death of a loved one too hard, they are gone from us & on their own personal journey to the next phase of their being.
All of my Love has always been my favorite Led Zeppelin song and now I love it even more. I lost my 15 year old son Carter in 2012. The pain never goes away, you just kind of learn to live with it.
I have immense respect for him.. I remember distinctly when this happened to him.. I can't imagine being in the public eye and having to grieve the loss of a child..
Robert Plant is an intelligent, thoughtful, talented man we are blessed to have witnessed the projects of all these years. It’s so apparent, what he says, that he’s always wanted to move on to something new and interesting. He is not a man of the past, not an artist continually squeezing the last gasps of his former fame for present financial gain. I love that about him. Every project he’s done since L.Z. is an evolving, new piece of art. He’s still vital and cool.
I’ve been a zeppelin fan for most of my life! Since I discovered their music at 12 years old and I’m now closing in on 62! I love watching anything that has to do with the band or about Bonham and Plant! I know Plant has put Zeppelin in the rear view mirror but it would be amazing to see the 3 original band mates get together with Jason and play a few dates in America! It’s something many of us would die to see! Anyway it’s great to see him open up about his son and about the music! His solo albums are very good and the music he does with Krause isn’t too bad either! Thanks for it all Robert, hopefully we can chat one day!
I have 4 daughter's and haven't seen any of them for 10yrs or so and although my heart feels eternally crushed i cannot imagine this mans grief from losing his child forever, my only solice is that my girls are living happy productive lives elsewhere, this allows me smile at times between the tears.
I was the manager of Our Price in Stourbridge in the 1990’s and had the brief pleasure of serving Robert Plant and helping him to find a CD he was after. He was so cool and unassuming and polite, a really nice guy.
I remember when that happened. They were on tour in the states at the time, if I remember correctly. It was unfathomable to even imagine what it must have been like for a rock hero like Robert Plant to go from the highs and rigors of touring with one of the world's most famous bands to the extreme depths of having to stop everything to return home to deal with the worldly reality and personal angst of losing his son. Unimaginable grief.
Hi sweet Robert, Xennial here lost my son in a custody battle to his fathers family. The grief was and is immense. He is still alive and i imagine his grief is immense. Robert i am 42 and was listening to you since 14. When 50 something males are playing your music, the music is still inside of me, memorized. I think my favorite was Kashmir with Najwa Aktar. I saw you in North Carolina with Patty Griffin. But i prefer to connect on a simple level An equal level, rather than as a fan. I've been through a lot of loss. I appreciate your sincerity, your authenticity, and your poetic soul. Thank you.
Anyone of heard who met him have said how nice he is, I’d love to meet him. Many interviews I’ve seen, he has a great sense of humor too, & a very smart man.
In order for compassion to exist there has to be suffering. You can't have one without the other. Led Zeppelin's music has got me through so many rough times in the life. Thank you.
To see this interview and hear him talk so intelligently and from the heart was really touching, he was a good friend of my uncle, a fellow musician, for many years and though I have lost my uncle now, to throat cancer, I could see why they were fruends. Both intelligent, well spoken articulate men and with a big talent. God Bless him & his family having lost his son, every parents worst nightmare - I cannot imagine life without my boys, that anyone carries on is an absolute miracle and shows how human strength, and love, endures. Am sure his music has helped him a lot and we are lucky to be able to enjoy his incredible talent. I believe he lives about a half hour drive from me at present, in a gorgeous Welsh Border town where he can enjoy a peaceful life among glorious countryside

A beautiful soul, and he will be reunited with his son in Heaven one day, grateful to have met him during my life journey…..
Awesome!
Thank You for sharing💟
What a fantastic story ... Thank you for sharing that extremely special moment~ ⭐
Your analgesic shivering occurred when you spoke of his humbleness. He was my first crush and nothing compares to him ever! Wonderful soul.
@@joankuehn4479 Yes! Robert Plant - back when I was a teenager (100 years ago 😂!) - was my 1st crush too; and I still love him & Led Zeppelin to this day ... 🎶 🎤 🎸 🤩 ❣️
He is and always will be the greatest .Have loved Zeppelin since day one and now appreciate the music that Robert Plant has moved onto. Just pure magic.

Such a gentleman.
Highly intelligent, articulate and thoughtful. Remarkable human being. 💙
Wonderful description of such a great talent. Thanks
I have great respect for anyone that has lost a child... God bless to all.
Losing 3 of my kids in my 53 years on earth was the hardest thing to ever experience. 1 to SIDS, and 2 to overdoses....the pain never goes away, it just comes and goes in waves.

I’m so very sorry and can’t imagine, please be kind to yourself 🕯️🕯️🕯️.
I have no words, just hugs and heart❤
I am so sorry 😢❤❤
I saw this man perform fairly recently at a small intimate gig. I was sat at the front and all the while I wanted to to pinch myself for seeing him right there in front of me and preforming as well as he ever did. What a great musician and humble person he is.
He is such a wonderful and humble man!
I too lost 2 children, one at 3 1/2 months and the other at 16 years, it is the greatest tragedy a parent could ever go through and no one can even comprehend it unless they’ve gone through it also, we played stairway to heaven at my 16 year old funeral and that one song is what helped me get through the day and every now and then when I’m driving and that song comes on the radio I know my boys are with me
Sorry for your losses😭‼️

Dan Rather is a class act. His compassionate nature, kind tone, and the fact that he REALLY listens makes him a gem on an interviewer. Seeing him having a chat with Robert Plant about such a sensitive topic was really moving. A great interview - thank you!
Dan Rather is not a class act. Maybe you don't remember what he did that led to his resignation from CBS news.
To me you are the best vocalist to ever grace this disturbing world. Thank s for all the great music.
Well said
Best vocalist? You must not of listened too much music.
His voice is quite shrill and hard on the ears at times.

A true legend of a man. I was walking to interview his band in 92 and he walked by me saw the promo package in my hand ,told his bodyguard to stand down and engaged me in a short conversation with autograph as bystanders gaped😮
You lucky man❤❤❤!!!
Tragic loss and wonderful perspective from the greatest front man in rock history, the greatest voice in rock history. And he's still going strong.
Freddie is the greatest singer and performer in rock history
@@user-fb8se8gy1iAt his peak, nobody could touch Robert Plant as a rock frontman. Freddie was pop star. Plant was the ultimate rock frontman.
Freddie is the greatest, rock star ,showman and it's official has the best voice in the world and is so handsome, with the greatest personality and He loved cats 💜😃xxx
Anyway you live in America, what would you know , where as I am Scottish and proud of it ,have seen queen in concert and been to Freddies house in London,so suck that up lydon ,shalom 💜🇮🇱😃xxx
Yes or 'you feel me', every few words and you feel obliged to concede.
😂 yes! His answers are concise and thoughtful, he takes time to think. It’s refreshing.
John Bonham had his shortcomings for sure but he was some kind of friend to Robert. Respect.
Yes they were very close friends, Robert is John’s son Jason’s godfather. Robert took Johns death really hard too, he really misses him a lot.
They weren’t only band mates but they were close friends! I really think that if John had lived we would see a zeppelin tour every few years! Without his best friend he wasn’t interested in Zeppelin anymore, to him it would never be the same!
@@louiscalachino9019 I agree.
It’s torture to lose a child. I’ve watched my parents suffer the loss of my brother. Bless his heart.
🙏
The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame can be lame but I think Mr Plant is a fine candidate for a solo induction.
Shoulda be taken care of long long ago. Love his solo work.
The rock and roll hall of fame is lame, and a total sham. Don’t understand why someone should be inducted twice, yes he did become a solo artist but his name is still in the hall as a member of Led Zeppelin. He would not have had the exposure if he started as a solo artist.
Wow I am surprised he is not already there
Robert and Dan, thank you, this is life and needed to see this tonight, have Cancer, Peace
I also lost a son & it will always feel like yesterday. He's come a long way
& his music continues to inspire.
The interviewer approached a delicate topic in a sensitive way. Kudos to him. Robert will always be an inspiration.
A lot of interviewers today could take such a lesson here from Dan Rather. Actually listen to the answer to your question… No need to interrupt. No need to turn it around upon yourself. Ask the question and LISTEN to the answer.
We lost our son, FE 26.
It’s so difficult, losing a child.
A very civilised man with such historical talent that brought joy and now wisdom
Wonderful musician and a beautiful gentleman.
Robert Plant is a genuine fantastic human!
Yes love everything around you as much as you can. I lost my beautiful boy 2.5 years ago. Well spoken, always
I loved the GENUINE smile right at the end.
Does not bear thinking about. My heart goes out to any parents who have lost children.

Nothing but respect.
I could never imagine the pain of losing a son or daughter, especially so young.. My Grandmother lost her son when he was just 6 years old, and she cried every night until her passing.
I've cried every day for over 2years. I wake up and remember my daughter isn't here and it crushes my heart. I'm so sorry for your grandma. I hope to not live a really long life.

AyanaKess im so sorry you lost your son. Mine was 30. I ache always. Id like to send you a hug.
The lyrics to "All of my Love" are so mesmerizing... what a beautiful person inside and out
I feel bad he and his family had to endure the loss of his beautiful son.
I also think he’s the greatest singer.
My favorite band!! I got to see them in concert three times back in the 70’s!!! God bless you Mr. Plant and thank you for making me happy. Much love and respect for you. ❤😊

Very sad loss, I remember the year it was reported. Felt very bad for him and his wife. Heartbreaking.

I could listen to Robert Plant all day :) Such a brilliant mind, musician, creative.
How nice he had such support. ❤❤
Two brilliant, thoughtful men in conversation. Love it.
Having lost a young child myself during that same time period, the way he spoke of it was as accurate as anything I have ever heard or probably could have even articulated myself. 40+ years, its always there, but how he spoke of the changes over time, and the child that came after, took my breath away a little.
So sorry for your loss 🫂

What a wonderful interview, so relaxed and intimate. Robert has a great voice for singing and talking, I could listen to him for hours.
what a beautiful person
There is no pain like losing a child. It is a heartache that can never be filled. It is on your mind when you go to bed and get up and constantly on your mind in the background. From one who has been here.
Saw Robert Plant live in Nashville nearly 30 years ago. Awesome beyond belief!!!!
I can't imagine losing a child ..don't ever want to either.. love and strength to all that have❤️
Look up Within Heaven's Gates by Rebecca Springer. Page 64 😇
Look up Within Heaven's Gates by Rebecca Springer. Page 64 😇
A joy to hear the great Robert Plant opening up a bit.
I've always admired robert plant. A absolute legend in my humble opinion. Makes many people very happy.
I love Robert Plant! ❤he’s so genuine and intelligent and that VOICE
A good man with a depth and honesty most will never achieve
I lost my daughter 9Years ago gut wrenching pain I miss her every day.everything is just so different now .I look around and it's all different
I have 4 daughter's and haven't seen any of them for 10yrs or so and although my heart feels eternally crushed i cannot imagine this mans grief from losing his child forever, my only solice is that my girls are living happy productive lives elsewhere, this allows me smile at times between the tears.
Love you Mr.Plant. Best Band on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must believe you will see him one day!!!!! Just believe sir!!!!!

I was not a 23yr old guy..but I loved Stairway To Heaven..but Kashmir was my total favorite of all time of all songs.
"he was a nature boy, yeah he was a mountain man".....that made me cry.
Hi sweet Robert,
Xennial here
lost my son in a custody battle to his fathers family.
But i prefer to connect on a simple level
An equal level, rather than as a fan.
I've been through a lot of loss.
I appreciate your sincerity, your authenticity, and your poetic soul.
Thank you.
He seems like a regular ol' cool guy.
you Have no idea. Met him in Vegas at the Aladdin 1991 . Class act!!
You are so right, you can’t imagine how people get through it.
Grief last forever. We will always miss them. I share a bday with Robert Plant.
