Not the drums. In the original version, John Bonham is slightly and intentionally a bit more off compared to the guitar, like an echo but not a reflection. Of course, as you said, it is your opinion.

Watching this performance in late 2021 leaves me speechless - again. When I first heard the studio version as a 16-year-old in '82, it blew me away, and over the years, when I've needed to find peace, this is the song I'm drawn to. Led Zeppelin blew the time-space continuum apart with their music - and continue to do so to this day. Now I'm going to watch 'When The Levee Breaks' - another classic that set this band apart from all their contemporaries. And yes, I know Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie wrote the original.

Can't even put into words what seeing this video does to me. 62 years old, 5 kids, 6 grandchildren. Saw a lot of great bands, but never reached the Holy Land of a Led Zeppelin concert. I think back to that era when bands like Led Zeppelin were so much more than music we just listened to. The bands, and their songs, were mile markers that saturated our lives. I miss that era so damn much. It just defies explanation to a younger generation.

You are so right Ken. I had been absorbed with everyday life for so many years, and totally lost touch with music. A few years ago, after a couple of beers, I got on you tube to see what was going on with the newest generation of "Rock" bands. I was literally stunned into absolute disbelief when I realized Rock as I knew it was dead and gone.

I totally agree. Throughout my life, Led Zeppelin ranked number one, hands down! I too am a 61 y/o male with a family. Recently, I saw a video of the harm Led was/is for its fans. I believe the group who produced it here on TH-cam is "A call for an uprising," assuming I got that right. However, they are just another average garden variety Christain group telling me how evil I am for listening to Led Zeppelin by mentioning Jimmy Page's fascination for the occult. That he purchased Allister Crowley's house. They also played an album backward to hear evil quotes, etc.
I find that obnoxious. For one, I am a Christain and the music never harmed me. Too me, it's their attempt to cause a witch hunt. Yet, they appear more harmful than those they point their fingers at. In fact, after a lifetime of such attacks on artists, I have no respect for them and their quest. Especially now, with the endless examples of "church officials" convicted of crimes and their lavish lifestyles, obscene sexual habits, and their hypocrisy beyond any rational boundaries.
And, to tell the truth, I'd shutter if they were given the opportunity to force their views on others as a matter of public policy. They appear to mirror much of what you'd expect from the Westboro Baptist church. We have a lot to worry about without the hate they promote. And, to speak to music lovers and their nostalgia of good days in our past is so offensive and I think they should be investigated for possible terror behavior. Because I'm not sure what is worse, Muslim extremists or our religious right. Jus sain...
