    Lyrics
On waves of love my heart is breaking
And stranger still my self control I can't rely on anymore
New tide, surprise, my world is changing
Within this frame an ocean swell behind the smile, I know it well
    Beneath a lover's moon I'm waiting
I am the pilot of the storms, adrift in pleasure I may drown
I built this ship it is my making
And furthermore, my self control, I can't rely on anymore
    I know why
    I know why
Crazy on a ship of fools
Crazy on a ship of fools
Turn this boat around, back to my loving ground
    Oh, no, oh, no
Who claims that no man is an island?
While I land up in jeopardy, more distant from you by degrees
I walk this shore in isolation
And at my feet eternity draws ever sweeter plans for me
    I know why
    I know why

I fell in love with Robert Plant on February 16, 1969. I was 16 and went to a vanilla fudge concert. Another band, called Led Zeppelin, was the warm-up act. When I first laid eyes on Mr. Plant, I couldn't believe how beautiful he was and how powerfully he sang.
Back in those days, we'd never seen a front man with long golden locks who wore open chest shirts and kicked ass with his vocals. Robert invented that. When I try to count all the blonde, big haired singers that imitated him since then, i lose count,
I feel great knowing I saw the original in concert.
Love you, Mr Plant ❤ You are the greatest!

This track along with "Big Log" are two classic tunes from Robert's Solo career that are timeless. For the same reasons we drift away in our thoughts to "In the Air Tonight" - Phil Collins, Or Robbie Roberston' "Somewhere Down The Crazy River" These tracks let the 80's be more than silly hair and neon coloured pants...and turned the second generation of classic rock into a realm worth remembering.

    "Ship Of Fools"
On waves of love my heart is breaking
And stranger still my self control I can't rely on anymore
New tides surprise - my world it's changing
Within this frame an ocean swells - behind this smile I know it well
    Beneath a lover's moon I'm waiting
I am the pilot of the storm - adrift in pleasure I may drown
I built this ship - it is my making
And furthermore my self control I can't rely on anymore
    I know why - I know why
Crazy on a ship of fools
Crazy on a ship of fools
Turn this boat around - back to my loving ground
Who claims that no man is an island
While I land up in jeopardy - more distant from you by degrees
I walk this shore in isolation
And at my feet eternity draws ever sweeter plans for me
    I know why - I know why
Crazy on a ship of fools
Crazy on a ship of fools
Turn this boat around - back to my loving ground

He was extremely kind, funny, rarely drank, smoked or used foul language. He carried this cool wallet from the 70s. Looked like something he'd picked up at a festival. Definitely handmade. I found it very telling of his personality. Pretty humble guy, actually, though he did say he remembers feeling immortal when he was about 17, overlooking the crowd that packed the stadium where they were playing.

The fact that I'm here listening to this in my early sixties is a prime example of someone who discovered Led Zeppelin in my early teens and followed them and the members through their various projects because of the creative explosion that happened in music through the sixties, not only in songwriting and lyrics but in the field of instrument amplification and sound engineering through to
production and distribution methods...so through my passion of audio mixing and production I have been lucky enough to witness an extraordinary evolution in music and it's performance...Peace!

There’s really no comparison between the solo career of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.

@@incognito7479 I think you'll find that I wasn't making a comparison and it is something that I think is a failure of published music critics especially during that period with the " who is the genius behind the music, who is the best?" angle when in fact, it is my lived experience in the collaborative formation of a few decent bands that the magic happens when the comparisons are left at the door so that the collective input of all members including some non playing but essential parts can be woven in to something that is greater than the sum of those parts. There is so much more to succeeding in music than singular notoriety✌️

Maître de mixage Fréquence I didn’t say you were. The comparison, in MY opinion, is nonexistent. Nothing in your comment I disagree with.

@@incognito7479 My mistake, text is a medium that does not have the nuance to always fully relay true sentiment, unlike music ✌️
