Batty Champion Amethyst Adopts A Desperate Orphan

Sometimes all the ducks just line up as they did recently when Amethyst and her baby were found during an orphan check at a problematic flying-fox colony where lots of orphans have been rescued in the past few months.
Amethyst and her baby were being constricted by a large carpet python and sadly the baby did not survive.
Amethyst on the other hand was rescued, taken to the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital for treatment before being sent out to a carer.
Whilst in care, Amethyst adopted a needy orphan from the same colony and the pair have formed a beautiful mother and daughter relationship.
Even the snake didn't go away empty handed as it did come back and consume the deceased baby which means that the baby didn't die in vain.
The eternal circle of life and death continues in flying-fox colonies and sometimes out of sadness, a desperate orphan and a grieving mother find each other to the mutual benefit of both parties.

Exactly. The snake was just following instincts. As much as I adore bats and their tiny babies, what is the snake supposed to do? Starve? That's hardly fair.
I really love to see people who care for all animals too, I’m like that too. It seems like there’s not much people who exist that have that big of a heart yet.

I just wish that snakes could eat fruit, too. It's not their fault they have to eat other animals. Besides, it's a cute mental image to think of one coiled happily around a pumpkin or sucking on a plum.
