Rescuing a flying-fox pup on the ground; this is Tipsy Cat

- Tipsy Cat is a 3 week old Grey-Headed Flying-Fox pup who was called in for rescue when the MOPs found her crying in their backyard. She climbed onto their toy lawnmower and didn't know what else to do except cry.
She may have been mouthed by a cat, but the punctures in her wings looked partly healed, and there were no body punctures so she didn't require antibiotics.
She was a feisty little one, bigwingsing me and swearing at me and her situation, but she did settle down a little. She was really not a dummy girl; I tried her on 3 different dummies, but she kept spitting them out; eventually I gave her Owl Teddy's beak, which seemed a satisfactory substitute.
She has gone to the Central Coast where she is being raised as she deserves, by someone with some time and a routine to give her the stability she needs.
She is named along my cocktail/fancy drinks theme, for a kind of cocktail and because there may have been a cat involved in her trauma.
I did toy with the idea of calling her lawnmower themed cocktails, however she seemed to be a quirky girl and deserved a skittish cat name.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for me. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

Mention Megabattie or Meg in the PayPal message box and the money will find its way to me.
If no message box appears, please email Jenny to tell her that the money is for me.
IMPORTANT: If you pay through the PayPal Giving Fund, can you please email Jenny with the AMOUNT DONATED and the name under which you have donated, OR just forward along the PP receipt.
The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
Here’s Jenny’s email.

Poor little baby, screaming with fear and stress, but she fell asleep with an owl's beak in her mouth and now you will help her, to be a big, brave girl. Thank you for rescuing this little creature
God love her. She’s telling you ,” I’ve had a terrible day and I don’t know where my mummy has gone.” Worry not little one auntie will sort everything out and take good care of you 🙏👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️🦇
Oh those little screeches are heart rending. She did an admirable job trying to act brave and tough with the big wings. And as always, you did a great job getting her to warmth and safety :)
I agree, she really gave a masterful performance for such a wee one. I love how Meg talks to them and comforts.🖤🇨🇦
I’m looking into becoming a rescuer!! Bats are endangered here!! ❤🦇 From NC, USA 🇺🇸
What a delightful little bundle of sassy. Loved the little bigwings as she held to the little batmobile, lol. ❤😂
Ah, but to her, it wasn't little bigwings, it was big girl bigwings
Aww, she just wore her little self out at the end, there. Such a sweet girl!
Poor li’l Tipsy Cat. She really had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! Don’t worry Love. They are about to get so much better for you now.
Thank you, Meg, for your loving care of these poor lost souls. Because of you, they have a chance to go on to be other carers and grow up to be healthy, feisty, and wild again! ❤🦇❤️
Owl donated his beak for your dummy.
You're such a kind person, helping nature's most innocent and fragile of creatures in time of need.
Love the transition from angry baby cries to content but needy baby chirps. Such a feisty girl
Oh Meg, Tipsy Cat's cries break my heart and my Cat is very concerned but I sighed in relief because she's in your EXTREMELY wonderful hands now!! Such a precious girl🦇🦉🤗💕💕 and an awesome MOP!👍 Thank you!🥰
Moved along to a carer already.
So much outrage in such a tiny package! She's having a bad day and she's going to make sure EVERYONE hears about her terrible awful super not good day. 🥰
The mother of invention! Owl's beak has been a substitute nipple quite often. I just love it! It's too cute!
She's pretty talented how she can scream at you through her dummy.
i was afraid this one was not going to make it. Whew.
You need more bird plushies for the no-dummy club.
She could have scared off quite a few predators with her yelling and bigwings!
But you can't scare off love, little Tipsy Cat.
“let me have a look at you and stop being so outraged at life.” 💀 😂
Good luck darlin girl! 🦇💕💕💕🦇
Aw bless her, its heartbreaking hearing them cry. I wosh her all the best in her recovery ❤❤❤
Perfect "teddy" for a non-dummy little girl. ❤🦉❤
A feisty girl! Good for her!
Bat booties? How cute.
She’s in good hands now. I can’t donate much but I’ll do at least a bit of 💴 to help out.
Thanks Butterfly
Thank you for your videos.
I'm house and bed/couch-ridden at the moment and your videos help pass the time and are a distraction from pain.
This little girl sure thought she was a big girl, all that sass from such a tiny creature.
Once again Meg for all you do and your great videos.
Hi Meg….Awww what a sweetie,, her cries are heartbreaking 💔 ,,,,hope she has settled down in her new digs,,,,Tipsy Cat batty🦇Tobey 🌵🌞
These videos are always a blessing after a long day of work!
Thanku God bless her 💜
She's so cute
OMG, sweetest little thing, when she is trying to take the nipple thing. When she stops crying, that is the best feeling when you help a little baby. I love this show at this rescue part. I hope she makes it.
I just cannot handle how cute these babies are!
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
May the Lord continue to bless you richly, Meg. You're the best.
I haven’t seen you in a while but I know the battle continues. Sending love to you and these wonderful babies along with the awesome people that lend a hand. Cheers.❤️
Those cries...😢
AWWW! Tipsy is adorable
That was just precious!
I look forward to every video! Thank you Meg! And as always, I wish I were down under to help the batty cause.
thanks Frank
I often think the same thing, Frank…going down under and rescuing bats…but 🎶this old gray mare sure ain’t what she used to be!
Our dearly beloved Meg is a wonder, isn’t she, Frank?
God bless you, Frank! See you in the next Megabattie video!
@@carolynnunes3922 Well Carolyn, none of are what we used to be, but where there's life ... Yep, Meg is amazing. I'll see you at the train station!
Ich liebe diese kleinen wunderschönen Mäuse von ganzem Herzen. Und dich Meg auch.💕
Poor little guy
Such an anxious and scared little girl but she seemed to calm down when you came back. Hope she'll do fine.
She remained skittish whilst in my care and was moved to a carer who could give her the time she needed and the stability and love she craved
Owl beak seems to be popular with the babies.
It does indeed...
Tipsy Cat is a feisty little spitfire for such a wee package. I loved her bigwings, but she sure has a vocabulary for a 3 year old. She is just gorgeous, and seeing her settled on Owl once her adrenaline settled was precious with her eyes slitted and Owl’s beak in her mouth. I hope she does well in care, and keeps her spicy battitude. How would she get wing holes while on her Mum?🥂🖤🇨🇦
She wasn't on her mum! But Mum could have been a raptor attack and baby fallen. No mum around so not sure what went on.
She could have been attacked by a cat and scared it off with her feist.
@@Megabattie Yeah, I just thought she had begun to heal, and can’t have been off Mum long. Good on her if she did manage to scare off a cat…she has the lungs for it…I like her style.🖤🇨🇦
She could've been in a tree for a few days after falling off her mum. She was quite dehydrated @@tamarrajames3590
Always with the best comments! Howdy, Tamarra! Lifting you and your hubby up! God bless you both!
@@Megabattie Oh, poor little girl, that must have been terrible for her. I’m just glad she was saved.🖤🇨🇦
che Meraviglia Stupendaaaaa💐🪻🌺🌸🩷❤
She's lost her Mumma and she's had a rough morning too Bless her xxx No Wonder she's so vocal ❤❤❤
I WANT MY OWL. She understands me.
Aw, she's a feisty little one. And owl's beak has become quite popular as a dummy ;-)
Awwww it’s ok baby. All will be well now ❤❤❤
Oh Meg, you are so good with crying baby bat. She really had a bad day. Lucky MOP found her and called you🤗.
Oh, what a badass tiny toy. Glad to read that she's doing good. Of course she hates dummies!! 😜
The cries went right through me! So piercing! Only matched by her cuteness!
Thanks for sharing Tipsy Cat’s rescue and naming with us! God bless you abundantly always dearly beloved
Awwww 💕💕💕 a vey tired little baby chewing on owls nose.
They are fascinating and gorgeous. Poor dears navigating cities and all. I've rescued tiny ones in Minnesota who been caught in an inside screen. Just a few tho. One I had to hold and put outside on a tree. I'm now vaccinated working more with outside cats . At night and day. 😊
Cats need rescuing too...
Oh, poor little darling. She really put up a good fight when you first showed up. Hope Tipsy Cat will be ok.
Even though I don't drink, I looked up to see what is in a Tipsy Cat. I found one recipe for a Tipsy Cat cocktail that was absolutely vile. I has honeysuckle vodka, elderflower liqueur, and you'll love this- 3 whole slices of cucumber. Unless there is a different recipe, this sounds like an abomination in a cut crystal glass.
Leave out the cucumber and it sounds OK. Cucumber is vile.
I once vomited in Winston Churchill's country home gardens because Mum made me eat a slice of cucumber.
Yum!! I love cucumber!! 🥒😋
I wonder how she could fall there, maybe her mum died!!! She is so pretty!!
I suspect Mumbat was grabbed by a raptor (bird of prey) and punctured baby who fell; I suspect baby Tipsy was in a tree for a few days before she ended up on the ground.
@@Megabattie poor little one, i' m so sorry
How do you sanitize the stuffed animals after the babies don't need it anymore?
I absolutely love watching you rescue babies ❤. I just wish that I was closer so that I could help 😂❤
OMG the last pictures of her snoozing on owl were adorable!! She certainly is a sassy butt!!
You are so good at this! Thank you for being so kind.
Aww... ❤❤❤❤
She has a mind of her own. She don't want the dummy she isn't taking the dummy.
I love how owl how has become the perfect replacement mom, non if only his wings wrapped around them....poor little girl looked like she hurt, I hope she does well...heals well.
Tipsy Cat reminds me of Scarlet 💜
Scarlet? Batzilla's cat?
A million thanks for the video Meg.
Bless you Meg 🍁🦇🇨🇦
Oh Meg she’s so precious❤❤❤ just like you!!! I adore you both!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Que vídeo lindo.Seja muito abençoada por tudo o que faz!!!😍😍💝💝
Heres' hoping that the distress evaporates into thin air, and does not distract you, little one, from all the good things around you. Grow big and smart enough to appreciate a buffet.❤🦇🌻
🦇🦉🥺❤🙏
Eventually they have to rest to rage another day
💕
Do they have cold wet noses like dogs?
No, not really
❤🙏🤩🇺🇲
😀
Another great job Meg! Question why do you paint their nails?
I was moving all the bats along to carers and I needed to ID them. I had 6 needing to go, so we did the nails so their records could go with them and at their destination they knew which bat was which.
They're sent out to carers by the coords who work out who can best deal with the various bats. When I write the transfer I put in age, weight, feeding issues, any injuries and difficulties, any quirks, and what colour toes they have. This allows the coord to work out which ones should go with which carer. We try to pair the bats closest in age to go with each carer but maybe one will go to a carer and the coord will match it to the age of the pup or pups the carer may already have.
Bullet proof and good feeders are great for new carers. Tricky ones are better for more experienced carers. Poor feeders get sent to people who have time to sort this out.
Awwww❤
Just curious..I probably missed the explanation..but I miss the old juice moments and wondered why you don’t do the apple juice thing anymore..?
They've found that if a bat has a head injury it might not be able to swallow properly and liquid could get in its lungs causing pneumonia. So its safest not to give liquids orally until the bat has been better assessed.
Hi Leeda
Barbara E said it like it is.
I get too many head injuries to give them juice immediately and for it to be safe all the time. If I give them oral glucose then subcut fluids when I get them home, and look at them after the adrenaline has worn off, they seem to do better.
