Raptor has raced 1500 ZR2 many times, and it is always Raptor by about 1 second. And the RHO will consistantly beat the Raptor by a couple 10ths. The only GM that can keep up is the Escalade-V. You'd need an XL Powerboost or Raptor-R to beat the RHO

I am in the market for a new pickup and after spending months researching TH-cam, forums etc…. I think the Ford F150 with their Coyote V8 is the “safest” choice in terms of longevity and overall reliability. It may have less power but I think the pro’s outweigh the cons if you’re looking for a long term pickup.

Incredible I worked for a Chevy Dealer selling cars from 99’-2011. I was there when the Duramax came out. I can’t believe it’s now rated 470hp with nearly 1000 lb-ft of torque. That is just totally outrageous. Wow🤯🤯!!
You should do individual runs as well as the heads up races. It's really hard to actually get the best out of a vehicle in a heads up race when your worried about your reaction time where as when you're just running individually you can focus on getting the best run possible.

The fact that a 6500lb Stock RHO will pull back and beat a tuned 5300lb Ranger Raptor is a testament to what a beast the Hurricane HO is. Obviously a factory tune is still going to be conservative, but still. I can't wait till we start seeing Ram put this engine in lower trim levels than Tungstens, Limiteds and RHOs. Imagine what this truck could do with 1,000lb weight reduction, E30, downpipes and an aggressive tune.
@@ljmorris6496 So those are a little different, the Tradesman trim gets the standard output making 420 hp and 470 lb-ft of tq. It still comes with forged internals like the crankshaft and connecting rods. The HO gets that and forged pistons as well as power efficient turbos. Which produces 540 hp and 520 lb-ft of tq. So there is a bit of difference when it comes to power, and internals.
My 2019 Raptor with the MPT 93 PRX tune has run mid 13’s at 105-107mph, so far. Those runs were done in 85-90* weather with high humidity. I can’t remember the DA. I have not tried it in this cooler December weather yet. It just crossed 61,000 miles also, it’s had the tune loaded since 1500 miles and I have only had to change the oil and spark plugs so far.
Tuned ecoboosts are beasts and people really underrate their potential. My 17 3.5 F-150 FX4 crew cab is E50 tuned (5 Star) with 164k miles will muster a 3.8 second 0-60 running high 11s. Top speed is over 150mph.

Diesels run exponentially cleaner because of the ridiculous government bolt on mandates, and they're still not done running diesel engines into the dirt... Anyone that thinks the EPA regulations are built on logic is sadly mistaken.
My work has mostly Dodge and Ford company vehicles... When the Dodges come in, they usually get fuse boxes and switches replaced, sometimes blow a head gasket that is done in the vehicle with the body on. When the Fords come in, they need the entire dash boards or front ends removed, usually blow transmissions on the ground or just rot in half so bad they cant go on the lift any more, cant tell you how many times I've walked in the shop and seen the entire interior removed from one of our fords to reach 1 thing. ( just an observation hahaha, funny enough the 1 chevy we own seems to never be in the shop)
Respect MOPAR. What does all of the Rail Dragsters, Funny Cars and the majority of other super fast extreme, high end race cars have in common? The engine block is still based upon the tried and true 426 Hemi from MOPAR.

I love ford but that hurricane motor has me interested in the ram again. Anytime an inline 6 motor exists, it either is ultra reliable or can handle insane amounts of power. Lets hope this is the case with the hurricane!

I was a factory driver for both Ford and Ram . The Rams are quicker. Do a drag race with top level trim from both companies without cheater mode and the same type of tires.
GM needs to fix their transmission issues fast. My employer gets us superintendents a 2024 Z71 5.3 4x4 as our standard issue work/perk truck, however more than several of us have experienced the same (check engine light, “reduced acceleration/power” notification, limp mode, zero shifts in Drive (5th gear? Slug to get going and 45mph at 4k rpm, limp mode, and ZERO reverse. Warped valve body, 6-8 weeks back-order lead time, all this at 12,000 miles. I’ve heard previous TSBs (technical service bulletin) but no recall. Insane. Doesn’t hurt an employee seeing as how the company puts us in a rental while the truck waits for parts, but imagine if you paid 40k-60k for a lemon! Cannot attest to the Ford or Dodge.
I'd be surprised if it was slower than the f150 raptor. Releasing a vehicle slower than older competition isn't exactly their recipe. But it would still be a fun match up to watch.
Got to work on those starts my friends. One truck gets a little jump it massively impacts the result. That was a huge advantage to the Ford there. We used to drag race all the time. The only way to do it fairly without electronics is a human starter. Up with one arm (pre ready), up with the 2nd arm (ready ready), then arms can drop between 1-5 seconds or so. Vary the 1-5 each time. No way to anticipate. No counting to 3 and waiving/pulsating the arms humans want to win and are more likely to anticipate and jump. Cool vid though as always.

I have had a 25 Rebel Standard output, for 5 months now, & ive noticed it really limits power on takeoff up until to about 40mph unless you turn off the traction control, then it is so much quicker, but you gotta not overpower the tires, which it easily will do if you're too heavy on the skinny pedal. I am not missing my Hemi V8 one bit, even with just the standard output Hurricane engine.
Dodge has done an awesome job on that hurricane 3.0. It puts out some impressive figures for a smallish motor. I wonder how much extra hp people are going to be able to squeeze out of the hurricane. There's been some decent hp gains in the raptors with bigger turbo, intercoolers exhausts and intakes etc.
What is missing is a Dodge Dakota. Dodge started the midsize pickup and it woud be sweet to see the Dakota with that twin turbo Inline six, i just think Chrysler dropped the ball on so many levels.
So in the Ram, you do not power brake. The VF (awd) transmission in the Ram/BMW/Mercedes/Alfa do not like power braking. Just mash the gas a go. Power braking makes the computer think there is something wrong, and limits its launch.
Got to give the ranger raptor credit, it looks good launching - impressive. Case a lefty? - notice his folder on left side.... Looks like Ford overrates their performance numbers and RAM either gives realistic or underrates. Could also just be that Ford's are realistic and RAM's are underrated. Both gassers surprisingly quick though.
Considering the Ranger Raptor makes more power than the base F150 Raptor. The RHO should spank the F150. Because unless I’m mistaken, Ford didn’t change the power numbers for the base F150 Raptor.

103 mph trap speed in a full size pick up is pretty good. Guys with C5 corvettes and 2V mustangs would sweating at the stoplight.

Dodge started the midsize pickup and it woud be sweet to see the Dakota with that twin turbo Inline six, i just think Chrysler dropped the ball on so many levels.

So in the Ram, you do not power brake. The VF (awd) transmission in the Ram/BMW/Mercedes/Alfa do not like power braking. Just mash the gas a go. Power braking makes the computer think there is something wrong, and limits its launch.

Looks like Ford overrates their performance numbers and RAM either gives realistic or underrates. Could also just be that Ford's are realistic and RAM's are underrated.
Both gassers surprisingly quick though.
Launch mode in the trx was always slower than just regular leaving off the brake according to my dragy

Considering the Ranger Raptor makes more power than the base F150 Raptor. The RHO should spank the F150. Because unless I’m mistaken, Ford didn’t change the power numbers for the base F150 Raptor.
😅...Raptor is fast!!! But most consumers are looking for a reliability, usability and yes some truck users want speed...I say let's do a reliability test every few years on these truck!!
