Manufacturers have gone nuts. I bought a 2014 Raptor limited edition for 57k out the door. 114k isn't even realistic anymore and they have priced themselves out of most people's price range!
Your raptor didn’t have a supercharged 700hp engine in it, 12” touch screen, live shocks, active exhaust etc. they’re arent comparable in features why would they be comparable in price 💀
Wow, lots of negative comments this morning and there may be truth when they say the holidays is tough on some people with mental health issues. This was a great video. It’s amazing that just 3 years ago you could purchase a fully loaded TRX for less than the the RHO.
The RHO seems like a good truck at a reasonable price but im still concerned about the long term reliability of that overworked engine. Still remember when the TRX started at 70k when it debuted, crazy economy.
Difference here is tires, put the 37's on the RHO you have the same clearance, and similar approach/ departure. I would also bet it would slip around, KO2s are know to struggle in wet, wet snow, gret in dry snow.
Of all the trucks TFL has tested on the Razor Rocks the best one is still the Canyon AT4X. No slip, no stutter, constant movement, plenty of clearance. If a midsize truck can work for your life they have the best potential for off-roading despite the slightly smaller tires. Especially with ones that have a front locker like the AT4X or Ranger Raptor. Plus these heavy trucks rip up trails so bad it makes wash out 10x worse
I'd say the RHO kicked the Raptor's butt in this one. Climbed better, handled the obsacles better (and with 37" tires to equalize against the Raptor, wouldn't have scraped at all) and is $30K cheaper. And yes, it looks better!
They're cool and all, but I think the days of people willing to go into 100k of dept for a freaking pickup are more or less over. As is apparent from the mountains of unsold 80k+ trucks sitting on the lots.
Sure guys, compare testing a truck that cost $30K less to the Rap R should have been more like the RHO against the Rap Eco to make it fair. That video would be more realistic. I've only seen Rap R owners be pavement princess's with all kinds of accessories to show off that the owners got all kinds of money to spend on their toys.
The raptor is in a class of its own now . Raptor is just so much better in many ways . This slow off road trail is pretty standard fare and can be done by basically any 4x4 truck . Take the raptor and rho on a fast baja style off road trail and things will be alot different. The rho is fine for everyone and raptor is built for people who really push the envelope. This comparison wasn't apple's to apple's.
Sounded like a little excuse making for the R on that first obstacle. It definitely struggled more mainly because you could see it feeding more power to the tires without traction and less to the ones that needed it whereas the RHO seemed better at distributing power where it needed to be. Better clearance on the R was evident. Very good comparison and both trucks were very close and did well overall.
I would go with the regular Raptor f150 with the 3.5. Put a tune on it and save a ton of money and be neck and neck. Raptor suspension still dominates off-road. Ram is trying to hit the sweet spot between Fords Raptor models and has really done a good job. Engine reliability would be a wait and see.
@ Some traction control on the rear end is better than nothing. The TRX is a good example of this, my neighbor has a daily driven Hennessey TRX and he has to rotate the the tires every 1000 miles or so because of the open rear differential that causes uneven wear across the rear tires. I’d like to see TFL perform a slip test comparing these vehicles.
Comments section about prices .. lol most folks normalized 80k+ vehicles through 96 month loans... And yall talking about MSRP, none of these trucks will sell at MSRP with the exception 5-10% if inventory avail... Lol. Get real folks...
@I agree, 6500Lbs is a lot of weight. Given the popularity of your channel, it seems like it would be a great tool to test the traction of modern trucks while making unique content. It would also educate people on the differences between different manufacturers.
The extra weight helped the RHO in low traction conditions it looks like. But either one seems like a fair deal. With the pricing difference the RHO almost makes you ok with 200 less horsepowers. 👍 Is the raptor r still towing 3000lbs less or did they match the 10k? That would be a good decider.
IMO both are overpriced by $30-$40k. And any truck marketed as "off road" needs front and rear lockers or it shouldn't have that badging. And Andrey's problem is he lets off power or hits the brakes every foot or two. As Roman said, "Sometimes you just have to stay in it'. Stellantis is rumored to have a big price drop in the next few weeks, I'd wait until that happens.
Yea that was definitely a more extreme line for the raptor for sure. That line for the rho wasn’t near as steep from what I was seeing. Either way I think they both loose at the price range , it’s ridiculous that ones at $84k and the other is $30k more which is a nice mid sized car option. Trucks and vehicles in general are so dumb on price , I have a 2011 Toyota 4Runner limited that I bought out right and I can sell it more now then what I paid for it years ago which is absurd.
"Pull the bandage off" is funny. I don't understand why car manufacturers build a so-called extreme 4x4 with side steps. If the car manufacturer is installing 1 or 2 lockers, 35-37 inch tires, and skid plates, it should also have rock sliders. Car manufacturers need to start including a simple way to deactivate all the sensors/alarms when off-road.
@@is6566 It doesn't matter what the owner does with the 4x4 because it's designed to be an off-road vehicle. I've seen well designed aftermarket rock sliders that can also be used as a side step. Why go to the trouble of putting skid plates on a truck but then install side steps for a street truck that doesn't prevent a rock from damaging the door frame?
@aeryn… One of the worst offender is the Taco TRD Off-road with Predator steps installed by the distributors. The shape of those steps by protruding out looks as if they were designed to catch rocks and trees.
I would be just as nervous if I wasn’t driving my truck. You have to realize that some of these trucks are not theirs. It’s the manufacturer, so I wouldn’t want to damage a truck. That’s not mine. Of course he’s gonna be nervous. Shake my head people lmao
Typical KO2 junk, not good on ice, not good in snow, not good on gravel, only good on the dry pavement. The Ram definitely had less struggle with traction.
My KO2 do fine in mud and gravel. It's a little slippery during rain. I like the longevity of it and the minimal road noise compared to some of the other brands. Snow I really can't tell a difference.
@TheMeanmarine13 i have them on my truck right now, they are the worst tire I have picked yet, gravel they chip, I would suggest trying something else next time, almost anything is better.
The challenge should be - which manufacturer can make an affordable truck again!! These are $115,000 mall crawlers with a-hole "macho" dudes tailgating you on the freeway with all their "off-road" lights on. Over compensation at it's finest.
For all of you who blame manufacturers for the prices, you do not understand what's really going on. Notice, from Jan of 17 to the end of 2020, inflation was only 1.5% over the ENTIRE 4yrs. From Jan 2021 until now, we've seen things almost double. The government fined ram/ dodge, etc. for every hemi produced. They got worse every year. The government also FORCED all of those companies to do ev production. It wasn't an option if they wanted to continue to sell here. Musk said he looses a ton of money of every car produced. The government gives him tax money to offset the loss plus profit. Ford and ram do not get this. They're putting in their own money for r and d for vehicles that no one wants. They have to charge even more to on gas powered vehicles to help with the loss. China owns gm and has the benefit of slave labor. Your truck may say assembled in north America, but your parts come from China, or a shell company in east Asia via China. Google gm vehicles made in china. It's almost all of them. They have other assembly plants as well, but china owns gm. It happened in 09.
If you’re not getting scratches you’re not doing it right… Off-roading for the affluent brought to you by Ford & Stellantis 🤜🏽💥🤣 Can’t tell the ambient temperature for over $85,000 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️
The better off road driver would have been Tommy, Andrey is just a tad hesitant and overly emotional/reactive so lacks smoothness but all in all fun video and a nice way to start my Sunday Funny how andrey would go rho even though he put his own money in a v8 🤔😂
Ford is garbage, GM is garbage and Dodge. That’s the consensus all all UTube videos. There all garbage 😂. So pick your garbage and throw away sooner rather than later

Manufacturers have gone nuts. I bought a 2014 Raptor limited edition for 57k out the door. 114k isn't even realistic anymore and they have priced themselves out of most people's price range!
Bro that was 10 years ago…inflation in 2022 alone was 30%…!
@multi… No it wasn’t. 😃
Your raptor didn’t have a supercharged 700hp engine in it, 12” touch screen, live shocks, active exhaust etc. they’re arent comparable in features why would they be comparable in price 💀
@@is6566It certainly was.
@Parker… In which parallel universe? 😃
When the trx came out in 2021 it had a starting price of 67k before options and unreal inflation, this rho should be much cheaper than that
Wow, lots of negative comments this morning and there may be truth when they say the holidays is tough on some people with mental health issues. This was a great video. It’s amazing that just 3 years ago you could purchase a fully loaded TRX for less than the the RHO.
Visually RHO looks better
Lmfao no it doesn't
Just a bloated version of a 15 year old look
114k, and we have to ask “is this truck more or less reliable than a 1990 Ford Bronco”?
You don't have to ask, it's less reliable. They're praying hard to finish testing without major problems.
The RHO seems like a good truck at a reasonable price but im still concerned about the long term reliability of that overworked engine. Still remember when the TRX started at 70k when it debuted, crazy economy.
Hellcat or nothing
Reasonable PRICE ?
@@melvinhunt6976Gov printed money. It's in circulation, all our money worth less. The 84k for that new truck was probably 50-60k just 5 years ago.
Reasonable price? When it's selling for more than the TRX is sold for, that's approaching unreasonable price in my book
@TheMeanmarine13 Trx was over 100k in its last year, and a Raptor starts at 75k, RHO starts at 70k.
Difference here is tires, put the 37's on the RHO you have the same clearance, and similar approach/ departure. I would also bet it would slip around, KO2s are know to struggle in wet, wet snow, gret in dry snow.
New Ko3 better in snow 👍
I think I go with the ram myself
Make sure to get an extended warranty, they are already having issues with these stellantis engines.
It's mostly in the tires. My AWD Ford EcoSport with snow tires...nothing fazes it in MI snow.
"I need cameras" no you need a vehicle smaller than a bus.
I so love the relationship! I so love your channels! You guys are absolute naturals in front of the cameras.
Please please have Tommy drive. This guy making these faces off roading is cringe
😂was thinking the same thing.
If the NKVD and the KGB was hunting you you'd be nervous too
I didn’t know Andre was in WITSEC while doing TH-cam videos. 🤔
Another video of two great trucks looking for one great driver.
Must be nice to afford to smash up 100 thousand dollar trucks😉
Smh.
Ram with 35's can't handle 1 inch of snow lmao
These pavement princess trucks are lame. Afraid to scratch them, what is the point?

Ram must not be letting any of these guys do videos of RHO vs TRX. Don’t see any anywhere.
I noticed that my self
The RHO is a brand new truck. They are putting it out, it’s up to the reviewer to get the TRX.
Poor Tim having one on order for a year and then getting beat to the content 😂

When the Raptor R is in 4WD Auto or AWD mode, does the rear brakes mimic an LSD in low traction situations?
It tries, but Ford's Traction Control is rather dimwitted.

RHO = Remove Hellcat Option. Where is the TRX? At least you are off roading them. Most owners will only take them to starbucks and the golf course.
What about RHO with 37s tires ;)

The Ecoboost 3.5 liter Raptor sounds way better then the vacuum cleaner sound of the RHO
