      @@SugarGeekShow Hi Liz, Thank you so much for all your hard work and incredible recipes, I have made so many of your cakes with great success.
      Last week though, I made this chocolate cake, following everything to the T, oven temp checked, room temp ingredients, measured by weight, and baked one batch of the recipe in two 8x3" fat daddio's pans and it took exactly 60min for the middles to fully bake and thus the edges were a bit dry...Should I have split in three 8x2 pans or use heating cores in my 8x3" pans?

    • @sara90h
      @sara90h 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      May I please ask how many and what size cake pans do you use and how long is the bake time?

    • @SugarGeekShow
      @SugarGeekShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sara90h If you bake in tall pans, it will take longer to bake. All my pans are 2" tall so that is why they bake faster. I would use a heating core or bake in smaller pans to retain moisture.

I trusted the process and followed the exact recipe tho. I did not make the icing shown here, I used my own frosting recipe so I'm only reviewing the cake which is now 'THE chocolate cake' we must have for special occasions. You were right: INTENSE chocolate flavor! Your channel is so underrated and your talents are not appreciated!
    Maybe I did something wrong but even though it did have a lot of sugar, it's chocolate flavor was strong and it wasn't sweet at all. I did use coffee from the coffee machine with the 1 and a half tsp of espresso powder....? More like a borderline cardboard taste. Sorry, I had to describe its taste! 😂 And I'm a chocolate lover! But, at least for me, next time I will decrease the DP cocoa powder and also use a little brown sugar..... Other than that, the cake was super soft! Not too moist and not too dry.

You have used Dutch processed which is alkalized cocoa powder and needs to be paired with baking powder(acc to the science) but you have used more quantity of baking soda here so doesn't it do the opposite job but still your cake is so soft. It's just confusing me

    Is there something that can be used in place of the guiness beer? Like more coffee? Making a cake for someone that does not want beer used even though it evaporates when baked.

      I was concerned due to making it for a birthday of N/A and the alcohol does evaporate. You just get a deeper taste of the chocolate.

      Hello! I believe she uses Magic Line cake pans. You can buy them on amazon. Also, using cake strips may help stop your sides from burning. Hope this helps!

    Was the butter sugar curdled/separate? It looked like it did but maybe I'm wrong. Not being mean just unsure.
