So glad to see you are OK Beth. We’ve been worried and thinking of you. We have watched your channel for months now, planning our escape from FL-from hurricanes no less. Our hearts break for the city. You and Asheville are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, that means a lot. We're strong in Asheville and will get through this together. This was a wild time though but we definitely know what we are made of now! 💖
I live in Fletcher and love Hendersonville. All of Henderson county is so wonderful. I moved to western Nc because the mountains are so beautiful. I have stayed because the people are the best on earth.
Thank you for your work in these areas Beth. I've been following your channel for about six months as I am moving from Charlottesville, VA to Newport NC on the coast. I LOVE the mountains but will be spending some time on the coast with family. One of the areas that I would love to see an update on is Lake Lure. Thank you again. Sending love.
Beth - thank you for your wonderful updates. I've been following various accounts of the clean-up and how the communities have really come together. It's great to see the courage, determination, energy, compassion and ingenuity in solving the issues with clean-up and getting roads and utilities back on-line. Hope y'all get your water back soon!
I'm in Arden and have water, power and internet. Lost water for a week and power for 14 days. Keeping busy clearing trees and volunteering at the Red Cross shelter by the airport. So great to see all the support and effort coming together.
Thank you for these updates Beth. We love WNC and vacation there whenever we can. It’s heartwarming to see so much aid & support for you all during such a devastating event. Your videos have restored my faith in humanity. Best of luck to you! Hope your water is restored soon.
You are so welcome. In all the ways there are to give back, this is just one of them. Thank you so much for watching. I have water and electric back now! 😊
I thought the last house would be much more expensive, seems like a nice find for a large family. On a different note, I've been hiking Pisgah Forest the last 3 days, trails are open and fall foliage is BEAUTIFUL !
Hi Beth, I would like to see how Waynesville is and Maggie Valley as well as Brevard. Thank you. You are doing a great job and so is Elena. We live on the Gulf coast of Florida and got really lucky from those two storms. Our dream was to buy acreage and build a log home in western NC, but now I guess we have to see about that. I love your positive attitude. ❤️
Dear Beth. Thanks for sharing this insightful information with us. Stay strong. Great interviews with the affected residents. The best is yet to come. From a long time listener in WA state.
Love your content, been watching for years! It helped inspire me to sign a lease for an apt west of WAVL the day before Helene hit (I couldn't decide where to buy so figured an apt for a year was perfect) I haven't seen any live footage of that area and I'm moving in less than two weeks (after going through my own FL hurricane/tornadoes). Ack! It'd be a dream if you filmed that area.
I absolutely love this video. Wonderful to see things getting done and my favorite little town of Hendersonville up and running. I've been watching your videos ever since I wanted to move there. Town has great vibes and wonderful people. Ty for the update.
No. Hendersonville got a LOT of flooding too - a lot. Don't just talk to the people who are lucky and ok. So many businesses are still gone, being professionally cleared with hazmat suits: Earth Fare, Petsmart, Papas & Beer, CVS, Walgreens, restaurants, Barkers Anonymous, and so so many more. All totally flooded. The community came together with chainsaws, yet the devastation was immense. Trees down every few feet...
@@livinginasheville Exactly. Talk to the people who don't have cars anymore, or houses - because trees crashed them, or they were flooded. TVs, lamps and houshold items litter streamsides - all that's left of homes. Those people will tell you a different story. No, it's not great for tourism, but it's reality.
I'm halfway between Hendersonville proper and Chimney Rock. My community did well. We were without power and water for a bit, but otherwise ok. Today we drove toward town and stopped at several Apple Orchards. We and had a wonderful time. Everything seems open and doing well from Hendersonville to the Edneyville area.
Yes, it’s wild how there are these little pockets that were totally fine and some other areas that had Highwinds and flooding indefinitely will take a minute to recover. There were so many people were out and about right afterwards that just depends on where you are.
Yes, actually I went to Black Mountain that day, but the video was already so long. I’ll have to save it for another day. There are parts of Black Mountain that are OK and parks near the river that are flooded. A lot of the places that are flooded plan to reopen in the spring.
I don’t see the attraction to Asheville proper when you can get a home like that in carriage park for less than 1/2’the price. The local government is pretty good too. The idea of a hoa under $200 a month with a pool! Better get these homes fast. Home values here are going wild. My home value has gone up like 100k in 3 years without the huge renovation. Call Beth Monday morning!
Uh oh you have ptsd Beth.. showed us two houses and did not get in the tub. I hope to move up there in April. We should be back on gold by then. Do you sell all over western NC?
Can you say something about the Simpsonville and surrounding areas , because some realtors still are promoting Greenville as the place to move into. When you asked them about it , they tell you that these videos are from before Helene . I believe they should hold on to them and publish something up to date , otherwise we are going to think that they are a bait and switch and if we go to see the areas we'll see the reality . Some also they say that between S.Carolina and the devastation of N. Carolina millions of dollars are going to be lose because the tourists are not going to go and see the sadness of the place . Thanks .
@@livinginasheville I hope you personally get your services restored soon. Hang tight beautiful you’re surrounded by great people and WNC will be back soon.
Thank you so much for making this video and on updating us on the current situation there in Hendersonville. Our plans are to move to there once we get our home sold. Going to take a little break but glad to hear that things are on their way back. And hopefully we’ll be in touch soon.

Absolutely, when possible. I’m afraid right now at the moment I would only be getting in the way rather than helping.

Thank you! What was the date of filming? Everything is changing so quickly.
Looks like October 9-11 depending on what you are calling day 1. I was commenting before watching all of it.

@@barbarawarren9443 - yes, I'm off of Asheville Hwy and had 5 trees through my house. Most small neighborhoods did get hit hard.
AMEN to that.
Saw a picture of a house for sale in Florida. It was still smoking from the fire after Milton. Thanks for the update!

I can not yet say anything about Simpsonville as I have not been there yet. These are from after the hurricane this was shot on October 8.
How is Connestee Falls/Brevard doing?
From what I have heard Connestee had some trees down but was ok. Brevard was hit in patches but overall was not one of the areas as strongly affected.
