Very heartening to see this video. I've been wanting to move to Asheville for six years and hearing about the hurricane devastated me. I also know people there. Thank you!
That kind of storm in once in a 1000 years, Asheville is beautiful as you probably know, once everything gets back on track, everything will be just fine. You shouldn't let this stop you from moving to Asheville.
I definitely understand that. Going thru something like this isn't for the faint of heart. While many are relocating there's still a strong base of us staying and riding it out. I for one could not bear to leave my home and community.
@@Nic_P85 Do you want everyone in the country to move down here? It's already out of control with prices and getting over crowded. This is a small city with big city traffic. Forest, farmland and pasture are getting gobbled up left and right for ugly apartments and subdivisions. Everyone and their mother is trying to move down here and you want more to come? Wtf us wrong with you people? The mass influx is severely impacting the quality of life down here and overdevelopment of the land (the land we all love and live here for) is truly horrible. Thank you so much for your update. My plan was to come to Asheville to pick up clay at highwater clay which is on the river. We headed home from the Smoky Mountains on that Friday rather than going through asheville. Up until Thursday night they were just saying it was going to maybe be some heavy rains through about midday on friday. We decided to come on home. The storms followed us all the way home to Central virginia. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got home! The clay sublime company is on the river. I heard that the water was 20 ft deep. I know there was a lot of potters who lost their studios and everything. There's a lot of fundraisers going on. I've been watching your videos for a while and you were one of the first people I thought of wondering how you were doing. Thank you so much for your update!
So happy to see you back and I am so sorry for everyone going through so much. It is heartbreaking to see all that has happened with Helene and now Milton. I am in Central Florida near Orlando. Lived in Asheville in the late 90's so I'm not surprised by the outpouring of love, support and community, same with the influx of support from around the country. American's can be an annoying bunch at times but usually not when there's a disaster. There's a small church close to where I live in Boulder Country that has a sign ... Apples for Helene ... because it's apple season and anyway to send money to WNC. Loved this video, thank you, but please let people know that FEMA are the good guys. Blessings and Love from Colorado.

Hello from Arizona! I am so glad I found your channel tonight! My brother moved to AVL less than a year ago and absolutely loves everything about your wonderful town. He was blessed that his home high and dry, so just the water and power issue we all are too familiar with. Just today he told me his power was restored and now his internet. Our mother endured Hurricane Andrew in ‘92 and that was a Cat 5 hurricane and horrific, as many of you may know. I have been sick with worry for not only my brother, but for all citizens in WNC. I was lucky to visit this past spring so I am all too familiar with so many of the landmarks. The outpouring of love I am seeing in this video is amazing. Thank you for taking the time to film this and share the current status. The utility workers, and everyone involved has done heroic work thus far. God Bless Asheville and all of WNC and its fine residents. Thank you, again! Stay safe!!
Thanks, Beth for this helpful video. Especially the ways we can help. My husband and I just moved to AVL in August for his job, and just getting to know the community. Now we get to know it even better on a deeper level.

Beth you make great videos and I started watching your channel a few months before this disaster. My gf and I here in Florida was so looking forward to renting a cabin around Waynesville to see the fall colors and explore the entire region later this month, but obviously that’s not happening…. So many lives have been impacted. Just made a donation to the WCK like you linked on your video. ❤
Thank you so much. World Central kitchen is a wonderful organization. I think we will film Waynesville next as they are looking quite good and all the vacation rentals are still open for business. They are welcoming people to come to town right now because they are back open, we appreciate your comment and I’d be glad to hear from you when you’re ready.
To every cloud is a silver lining. Rebuilding will be long and difficult but well worth it. God bless you all. P. S. I hope pictures are being taken so that a huge plaque will explain what happened at the 2024 flood for future generations and tourists.
Good to see progress. I actually had turned down a job there but had I accepted, would have started the week before the hurricane. While I had been kicking myself for not accepting, As a Joplin tornado survivor, I am grateful to not be there. I can tell you the change feel lasting in all sorts of ways to the core. My daughter always says you guys gotta understand how many people are without and how long it takes care of every one of them. I know the workers are out there and they’re doing the best they can.
Praying for all. The worst I feel is to come no one or very few had flood insurance. Most areas aren't even a flood zone. Bless all those who have helped. This will take years let's all work together to continue to help and pray for all those affected .
The 1916 storms dumped even more water but not near the population and development back then of course. I was there all of September and luckily got out of the area near the Riceville Fire Dept even though the bridge at Bull Creek was washed away. We maneuvered our way out via several connected private driveways that a local discovered. Quite the mess. You're definitely right to mention non-potable water being a major issue. Flushing toilets may not be a sexy topic but it's super critical.
@@livinginasheville I'm going to double check but it was equal to or more than this we just had. only reason I even know about it is due to the research I've been doing on some history here and it's came up.

Thanks for this video. I’m so sorry about your neighborhood! I hope you have water back now. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Water and power are back!🙌💖😊
Very heartening to see this video. I've been wanting to move to Asheville for six years and hearing about the hurricane devastated me. I also know people there. Thank you!
I am following living in Ashville. What an amazing and heartwarming community to be a part of ❤
We were thinking about moving to Asheville / mountains. We changed our mind. Praying for the people of Asheville!
That kind of storm in once in a 1000 years, Asheville is beautiful as you probably know, once everything gets back on track, everything will be just fine. You shouldn't let this stop you from moving to Asheville.
It is still a wonderful place to be.
It completely alters the vibe. People need to stop moving down here. Vacation here dont move here. Everyone wants to move to the vacation destination and that's how you ruin it. Fact.
Thank you for the update. We've had our share of hurricanes this season here in Central Florida as well, but seeing the devastation that Helene caused in WNC brings so many tears to my eyes. My family and I visit every year and we love WNC. Hopefully, someday we'll call it home.
We are bouncing back. Come back when ready.
Thank you for sharing this video. You came across as caring, hopeful, kind, and also thoughtful and respectful of those (including yourself) going through possibly the most difficult time in their lives. ❤️🙏
Thank you so much! 😊
We are sure praying for yall and may Jesus have mercy. So cool for all those that are helping others and for groups like Samaritan Purse and have many friends that dig Jesus and are going to help others. 😊 thanks for posting this video
Thank you for reporting the progress!
Our pleasure!
I had no damage to my apartment and did not lose power, except for a few seconds. Feeling very grateful. My heart goes out to everyone affected. I love Chef Jose Andres with World Central Kitchen, such a big ❤
I am so glad that you are OK too. This is wild. Yes I was so surprised to have him show up in my driveway and talk to me for a good 30 minutes and I had no idea who he was. He is such a kind man with such a big passion for what he does.
Awesome, showing our warehouse and the We Are Love operation!!
DJ Bowie! My fav operation!
Thank you for taking us with you to see how people are getting along. I’m praying you soon have electricity and water and stay well.
We are making do and much gratitude to even be here! Thank you for the well wishes…. 💖
Beth, Great video update. You are a proud testament to the people of Asheville and the state of NC. Thank you and God bless you and all those impacted by this devastating event. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much. This is hard.
Thank you for reporting the truth. I know it has to be tough and I could never imagine how bad it is there.
God bless you and everyone affected by this storm .Prayers ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you! People are good. FEMA is here. 💖🙏
Thank you for sharing and showing us the Truth 🙏
Thank you for sharing the great things that are happening in Asheville following a unimaginable storm! Keep up the good work 👍. You are helping to create a positive impact! God bless y’all ❤️
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you so much Beth!❤❤❤
Thank you so much. Thank you so much for your comment and for keeping up.
My heart goes out to all who have been affected 🙏🏼♥️ I am relieved that you are safe. It’s inspiring to see the strength and devotion of the community.
We are so resilient and resourceful and kind and loving and this has been absolutely heartwarming to see how we’re coming together together. Thank you so much for your comment.
Thank you for your reporting. WNC strong; Asheville Strong. 🙌😢♥️
Thank you for the work you put into this, best coverage I’ve seen as it really shows off the character of that city. I lived there for many years in the past but currently down in the “flat land”! Heartbreaking to see it from afar, please take care. Will keep donating!
Thank you 🙏
I am crying watching this. ❤
😢 I've been stopping by your channel for a few years. Seeing this in my feed reminded me of you. But the strength, clarity and resolve in your voice and character gives a lot of hope. You did a great briefing. Kept it news and flowing nicely.
Ashville will recover, and this doesn't scare me from considering moving there if I ever do.
Yes. God bless all people there 🥰❤🙏
Thank you 🙏.
I'm super impressed with Asheville and the surrounding areas that were devastated during this hurricane. I'm so sorry this happened to you all, but on the plus side, people are really pulling together and that's a beautiful thing. 🙌🏽 ❤
It really is… and thank you.
It looks like You Are Doing Well And That Things Are Finally Coming Together With Everyone in Your Community its Very Healing To See You All Come Together For Each Other. Its Amazing And Just Keep Up The Bonds Strong and All Of You Will Be Stronger .

Thank you 🙏
Its strange watching you cover this tragedy because I watch your real estate all the time.
I am headed up to Asheville tomorrow morning to serve hot meals this weekend. Prayers for you and all those affected in WNC.
We must!
And thank you for helping! 🙌😊
Vary sad for Ashville. I can't believe this happened. I lived there and quickly became ny favorite town. Bless all there and good luck rebuilding
You are Beautiful Beth. Thank you for your Information!
I work in a community just like this. Cndys Harbor Maine. We got hit with massive storm. Took out many wharfs, homes, and boat house close to ocean. Everyone came together to help.
Stay safe!!
Thank you so so much! Glad he is safe!
I'm here with you. We're here with you.
Thanks, Beth for this helpful video. Especially the ways we can help. My husband and I just moved to AVL in August for his job, and just getting to know the community. Now we get to know it even better on a deeper level.
Prayers to everyone. People need to continue sending Water
It is amazing that just a lot of rain did that.
Thank you for doing this. I keep seeing the same pictures over and over and it’s heartbreaking. But…as a frequent visitor who loves Asheville….this at least gives me hope❤
Helping neighbors in time of need ...it's a Southren thing !
Hugs from Brantford Ontario Canada ❤
Hugs back and thank you! 😊
What a beautiful commentary and tour of both heartbreak and the fortunate ones. So skillfully done. We are up just north of Mars Hill and escaped any damage….just so very very fortunate. Thank you so much for this . This is why we moved to this area.
Thank you Beth for such a heart wrenching and heart warming update. You are all in my thoughts!
Thank you so much!😊
Beth you make great videos and I started watching your channel a few months before this disaster.
People will be honored and the town rebuilt. 🙏🏼
What a way to start in a new place though! Yes, we will!
Girl, it is so good to see you ok. You are one of my many regular you tubers that I watch. All the rest had checked in, but I was getting worried about you. Ashville was hit so hard. Sorry. God bless.
Awhhh, thank you! It took me a minute to get up and running. It was a doozy!
@livinginasheville I'll be looking you up probably April_ish. been planning to move up there for a while. Waiting on my money. Won't get in the way of rebuilding. Plan to help with it if I can
We have an awesome God he will help
Thank you 🙏
@@livinginashevilleyour positivity brightness brings to mind the song lyric "cheer up my brother, live in the sunlight!"

I am a Artist i so understand i will be continuing to pray for all effected
Thx for your reporting! My Aunt lives in Asheville NC and my cousin in Green River Cove. Folks it's still not safe for you and not safe for the locals so please don't go. Folks still need help, thank you so much to all who are helping!! They are safe but my cousin lost everything...
Keeping you all in my prayers and sending ❤ from upstate NY
My daughter works for electric company and my son-in-law Wi-Fi inspector. And I know when we have storms here which is nothing like what you guys have.
Finally people talking about the storm from 1916!
Yes, that is the main concern right now. Do you know how much water was in the 1916 flood? I’m curious.
@@livinginasheville I'm going to double check but it was equal to or more than this we just had. only reason I even know about it is due to the research I've been doing on some history here and it's came up.
The high water mark in Marshall from the 1916 storm was under 2 feet of water on that Friday the storm hit. This level of rainfall has never been recorded in this area
@@wayloncapps9480 thank you and God bless you and the community out there. 🙏🏼
I'm sorry you're still without power and water. I have lived here my entire life and every time I leave the house to check in on areas with those in need, I just break down. I never in my life time would have thought Asheville would be going thru this
I know, it’s so weird, I think I am still in shock.
@@livinginasheville I know I am, so I can totally understand that ❣️🙏🏼 and am sending lots of prayers to you all
