My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that has been affected by the hurricane 🌀 storm Helene. Thank you so very much John Ward for everything you do. May GOD bless you all 😇🙏☮️✝️
Great to see everyone out helping those who were affected by the storms especially with the food pantries and I'm praying for everyone there take care and until next time Thank You John.🙏🕊🇺🇲
Fantastic!!!! I just sent away a donation last night to help. I hope everyone that are able to no matter where we live can help too People really need our help now
This is all I was trying to get across to others John, just because people didn't get severe damage...they were still affected all across NC. Best wishes Sir😊
Love you, John you do great work thank you so much for showing everyone what’s happening in Saluda we went there this summer and was wondering how folks were up there. Good work for that pantry. They are a much needed thing they are. I am sure everyone appreciates their hard work. John, you be careful out and about. Thank you so much for bringing us these videos.
@brendabennett3041 he does do good work and this channel has the ability to reach so many because John doesn't inflate his content with the nonsense other creators do just to get views. By seeing him have so much compassion and love for us here in WNC, you can just tell he's a genuine caring person.
I saw a lengthy video tour with Fred. The USA is lucky to have small groups of people who are willing to give their lives to service. I sent my donation and hope the rest of the country will too. The Government is NOT doing enough so we as Americans need to step up. This storm spared the folks in South Alabama and we were shocked to see the devastation so far north. It's like the lefties do not want this in the news. Looking for a change!
Really? "The lefties"? How much time is Fox & Friends giving to the devastation? I know when my friend, who lived in Paradise CA, almost lost her family to the fires, it was barely on the National News. The President at that time said something like "they should have swept the ground). "Only" 50,000 people displaced because everything destroyed by fire was not very exciting. That is in an area much like the Appalachians. People choosing to live in harmony with the land (and on all sides of the political spectrum). As a "Leftie", I have done what I can. I live in NC and am proud that people are not zeroing in on who votes which way but rather giving, gathering, and driving 6_+ hours with donations. First couple of weeks was non perishable food. From then on anything to help people stay warm like sleeping bags, blankets, coleman stoves, butane, etc. As for the Government not doing enough, take a look at who depleted the NC reserves by giving tax breaks (and who those tax breaks benefited). Shtuff like this is not black or white. There are repercussions to knee jerk decisions.
Awesome 👍🏼 People don't realize the devastation that Western NC, East Tennessee has had from this Hurricane 🌀! Just mind blowing, Praying 🙏🏼 for everyone effected & ive been making donations myself. Wish i was rich as Elon Musk I'd put everyone who lost their homes in a new modular Tiny put together home like he sells. At least so they'd all have shelter. God bless you John for showing us all going on in this Hurricane Helene Mountain Relief!
Thank you for this report and the information given. They have all been in my prayers. I do have a question about the music at the end of the video. Who is that playing? It’s amazing. ❤
I know this is out of their area but has anyone given any thought to all the trees that were downed or washed downstream. Could anyone with log trucks with loading capabilities saw up the usable timber and take them to local sawmmills to furnish lumber to rebuild some of the houses, barns & sheds that were destroyed?
Hopefully John you read some of the comments because right after watching this great video about the Saluda Pantry, I went to their website to donate some funds, clicked on the Donate button and got a page saying, This organization’s page is broken. Not sure what’s going on but I would think it’s important to check it out as it’s impossible to donate!!
@rickdreibelbis - Thank you for letting us know. We just corrected the broken link on the home screen. If you go to the Support tab, you have an option of Venmo or Paypal. Thank you so much for your support. Shannon
Have you studied historical weather patterns across the US (for the past 150 years)? I have and found that (with most things in life) there's an ebb and flow. And so your statement is only partially true. It's a current/new reality for some people in some areas.
@ sharonwatson358 - Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain this. We are all survivors here. Saluda Pantry has always been about "Friends Sharing with Friends - All are Welcome"...long before Helene. We have always referred to people as our shoppers because that is what one does when going to pick up food supplies and basic needs. It is of the utmost importance to us to maintain the dignity of all of our neighbors visiting the pantry and that is why we collectively speak of our shoppers.
@lonelyone1111 - if you (or others) are in need of supplies, you can stop by the Saluda Pantry during the hours that we are open. We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week. We previously operated on an appointment basis Tuesday 1:00-6:00 but these are obviously different times. Thanks for the question. Shannon

From Maryville in Blount Co. Just went out with a cup of coffee and sat and wondered about NC. Thank you. God Bless.
That used to be me and the wife's favorite place to eat before they moved and then closed. The Saluda Whistle Stop was fantastic.
This is all I was trying to get across to others John, just because people didn't get severe damage...they were still affected all across NC. Best wishes Sir😊
I'm glad you agree! It's important to acknowledge the impact across the state.

To John Ward…listen to Deep River Farm update. They need clothing at Midway Wesleyan Church.
And drones to deliver goods across the new river beds to stranded homes?? Don’t know who to ask on that.
🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️
Beware of gift cards!!! Especially Walmart

You could get restocked from churches…they looked packed!!??
Frequent, natural disasters are unfortunately the new reality.
Watch The Dimming by Dane Wigington, and as many of his other videos as you can. Then come back and tell me if the disasters are 'natural'.

Obviously the people who need it.
