My wife and I moved to western North Carolina from out of state in October 2021. We were originally thinking about Asheville, however, we liked the relaxed vibe in Hendersonville. We ended buying a half an acre with a ranch style house in Hendersonville. We love it here. Strongly recommended. Asheville is really fun to visit which we do almost weekly. As for living there, for us, it was a bit too busy. My wife and I are seniors. Cheers!!!
I used to work security on the Asheville runway while it was under construction, did they ever finish? I think I was there for 6 years and it wasn't complete when I moved.
WOW!!! LOVE this video!!! I can't wait to check out the Hendersonville area after watching this!!! Pass me an apple or a biscuit with Apple Butter!!!! Yumm yumm!!!! 💜💜
I go to Hendersonville every summer. Love it! And yes, in my opinion it is better than Asheville. I will be there in August, and can't wait! Bold Rock is near by, and they have fun events/ live music during the summer.
My wife and I are from North East and planning to retire some where down shouth. Florida was in our mind but while talking to a friend of ours she recommened that we shold check out Hendersonville. We have never heard of this town before. The video was absolutely a game changer. We will certainly exhaust our energy to find a desirable community in Hendersonville to spend our layback Golden Years. Perhaps pay a visit soon to get the feel before we commit.

I've never been to Hendersonville but I did visit Asheville once. I love the galleries and shops in Asheville, but it had a bit of a tired or rundown feel to it. I hope to visit there again to see if I get the same impression. I will have to check out Hendersonville one day.
Asheville is growing so much and older buildings are being revitalized…. It’s been on an upward trend for last 20 years so there has been a lot of change.
We moved to Hendersonville, (outside of city limits), a year ago. We love the hiking, canoeing, camping, music, breweries and more. Asheville is very busy and traffic heading there is pretty busy, especially Friday’s.
Hendersonville would be choice over Asheville anyday for a variety of reasons. It’s just big enough, not terribly far from smokies, cost of living is certainly less than Asheville. Always liked it there. Just a lot of pluses about place. 👍👍👍
Yes I agree where liberal are crime is there, liberals and crime going hand to hand together I used to love Asheville 10 years ago or more now it is s*** hole plus too expensive

We have skimmed over the area a bit in map tours of the south and the different areas around Asheville but can certainly put some effort into Arden! 👊😊
I am very interested in Hendersonville. My concern is that I am single and moving alone, so I wonder how easy it is to meet friends and to be part of a community. I love the "town" vibe, as opposed to a city, however sometimes a town is harder to be a new comer. I was looking at Asheville (too much of a city) and Weaverville. But Hendersonville looks darling! ( I am 54, empty nester, very active, yoga instructor and avid hiker) I am looking for somewhere to spend the second half of my life. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
Hendersonville sounds like a great place for you and there are lots of people that are moving to the area who are also looking for friends. There are tons of meet up groups, especially for hiking, so I don’t imagine you would have many problems finding your people. There’s also tons of yoga studios too. Most people are really friendly there and easy to get to know.
Yes, this seems to be the consensus for a lot of people is they love the small town field of Hendersonville and they also enjoy being so close to Asheville that they can pop in and pop out at their leisure.
Hendo is the better community for normal American type folk, where I chose to buy, love it here! If you've purple hair with face piercings and neck tattoos, Asheville is for you!
Shhhhhhhhhh. Don’t tell everyone about Hendersonville. I love living down here. I don’t go to Asheville a lot. The prices even in Henderson county have gotten wild. My home tax value went up over 100k last year. Still best area in WNC.
@@livinginasheville Yes, there is a Henderson,TX as well as a Franklin,TX. I realized Henderson, NC was wrong the second I looked at the demographics. I have talked with many people in Franklin,NC and they all say they don't even like to drive through Asheville. I have some connection to Franklin,NC as I have ancestors buried there. I don’t even have to watch this video to tell you Hendersonville is not better than Asheville. It’s cute. I drove through downtown Hendersonville and there’s just a lot less to do. Unless you like being pulled over by bored police or attending one of many Christian Academies.
Moved to Laurel Park (right next to Hendersonville) in 2014 from Naples, Florida. Looked around the whole area at the time. Asheville, Arden, Fletcher, Canton, Waynesville, etc. Hendersonville won hands down. So very happy we avoided Asheville based on all the terrible things happening there past 5 years or so. I visited Hendersonville some years back. Lovely little area. I hope for the best for the people there.
As far as I know, Hendersonville fared quite well. Many other areas did not such as wanna Noah and chimney rock.
@@livinginasheville I'm glad Hendersonville is okay. I'm sorry to hear about the other towns.

Thank God we do not have to deal with it very often.
Hendersonville is by far the best. You definitely get that home town feel and Asheville feels more like a small city
Many say this same thing! I can totally see why.
Lived in Hendersonville for 15 years, worked in Asheville for that long. Hendersonville is much less liberal, and everything that goes with it.
Very true!

Hendersonville is much nicer. Asheville is too liberal with a lot of crime now. So sad we love Biltmore but we skip Asheville proper now.
Oh really, I have rejuvenated my love for downtown lately… the vibe is on point these days.

Agree. Bought a lovely home in Northern Hendo a year ago, would never give leftist Asheville a nickel of tax money.
If you're into hiking, mountain biking, nature, climbing, rafting, swimming or are just a super cool human being....this is the community for you.
I dig and agree. 👍
