    I didn't realize I needed the OBS software, now I found the missing piece of the puzzle... and you've just taught me that the lid that opens the battery on the camera can be lifted to plug in the wire for the dummy battery, thought my camera was different for a minute, Lol... Thanks for this, very good guide! 💯

    • @Kaiu24
      @Kaiu24  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately this is a reported issue on these cameras. Ideally when streaming, try not to use the internal recording at the same time if possible. Otherwise if it’s happening during normal recording too then try to avoid recording or keeping it on for long periods if possible. Sadly its a design fault on these smaller models (and even some of the larger cameras like the Canon R5 have had overheating issues)

    Hey Nice video I just wondered do you really need a capturecard? Canon made a software update so you can just plug it in with hdmi. Can I just use the hdmi to hdmi micro cabel?

    • @Kaiu24
      @Kaiu24  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont think there is a firmware update that allows that, the feed you get will only be through the eos utility and usb connection and plugging in via hdmi to a pc will not allow you to transfer the feed to the PC as the HdMI ports on PCs are usually HDMI Out. The capture card is best if you want the highest quality available feed. This is as far as I am aware

    • @Kaiu24
      @Kaiu24  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also want to add that yes u may need an extra wire and capture card but in my opinion its really the most hassle free method, no need to install additional software on the PC to help transfer feed, you can get the direct feed from the capture card in ObS or other streaming software

      @@Kaiu24 So, I just bought the camera, and it definitely has a huge overheating problem. I suggest not buying this cam for streaming.
      I set it to FHD clean HDMI output, autofocus on, medium shaking reduction, auto WB, auto ISO, dummy battery / USB power from USB 3.2 Lenovo laptop, connected HDMI capture card, made obs show the stream, and after roughly 1.5 hours, the overheating symbol did start showing up. It is ~ 24°C here in the room, and the camera sits on top of the closed canon m200 cardboard box that it was shipped in.
      The overheating symbol is showing up and the camera is quite hot especially on the bottom side near the camera mount screw holder and the back side behind the screen. I have now opened up / bent the screen upwards to let it cool down easier and will see if that is enough to make it continuously stay on for 8 hours.
      Later this week it will be 30°C here, so that should be a good additional test. If the camera fails that, it will go back to the seller because "faulty device / not according to specifications".
