Going to say it as it is - This is a favourite budget monitor of mine, the best I've ever used in its price range, $100 Bucks & 450 Nits. I was honestly shocked when I saw it for the first time. It has Zebras, excellent Focus Peaking, Histogram, Anamorphic Disqueeze, beautiful IPS Screen, the list goes on...It's TINY!

No problem. Check your EOS M mode before use e.g. 1080 mode, preferably 24p. If that doesn't work, could be the wire. Cheers, likewise! :)
Hi Zeek. Always love your videos. A couple of questions regarding this monitor. How bright is it outdoors when sunny? Does it take 4k video from camera? I'm not talking about the screen here.
No problem. It's 450 nits, so still very good outdoors. Yes it takes 4K from 4K Capable cameras 👍

Great video, Zeek. I'm looking at the Feelworld F5 but wondering what is the difference of a monitor versus using your phone? (Pros vs Cons.)
This I believe is an unbranded F5, without the logo. The monitor has more functions than what a phone can deliver e.g. Anamorphic Desqueezed, focus peaking, histogram, AR overlays etc, overall it's a nicer experience.
The main advantage is the low price, but the downside is the loud clicking buttons, the sound of which can be picked up by the microphone during recording. Fotga makes work easier because it has a touch screen, which allows you to zoom in and out of the screen while focusing. It seems to me that it is better to pay little more and buy a Fotga A50T.
I wouldn't be clicking the buttons while recording. But if you prefer touch, go for it! The Fotga A50T is nice for sure, no issues with that one. But the F5, is something that I will be using much more with my smaller cameras.

I do prefer this over the Fotga. Shopping took about 4 weeks or more. But I'm in Australia, not sure about the US.

I've actually been using the Panasonic S5 for a while. I haven't made a review on it yet, but all the B-Roll and stuff on my recent vids have been coming from it. I still use the M50 but don't upload stuff to YT with it.

Hi Zeek, great channel. Thanks a lot. Have a short question about external monitor freezing issue started from October 7th build. I had to downgrade to Sep 19 build (thank you for sharing it) to make it work. Do you know what the reason for this in newest builds?

I was using the 1080 Mode. All other modes look fine too! HDMI set to 16:9 24p

Yes, when you press info button to switch from realtime to framing, it doesn't show up on the monitor, only on the eos m. But I believe this happens in certain modes, I'll have to have another look!
zeek is it possible to send a link to some raw files that we can work with? just wanted to look into editing some files but I'm not so good at shooting yet, I got a new iMac and I'm excited to test its power!

Still a good deal...or would I be better off with the anonymous F5 ? What do you think ? Is it so much lighter and smaller ? What about the picture quality ? :) Thanks!
I really like the Fotga A50T, its touch, but this new F5 monitor is now my favourite. The size cannot be beaten with out small mirrorless cameras. It feels more of a joy to use over the Fotga.

@@gsixx8fpv499 Unfortunately it's not available anymore. I got it from an auction site, similar to ebay. The guy who sold it must have seen Zeeks video about the new budget lightweight anonymous F5 and has decided to get rid of the Fotga;) For me, I think I will keep it. As it is my very first camera monitor, I'm quite happy with it so far and with the deal I got, it is as low-budget as it gets. Also, when adding a beefy Sony NP-F Battery...even the most compact and lightweight monitor is a little beefy compared to no monitor. But, I would have certainly purchased the F5, if I would have seen Zeeks video and comment before.
I finally treated myself with an EOS M after being an avid watcher of your content and marvelling over the RAW footage from EOS M. Quick question, is the installation process still the same as you demonstrated in your video a couple of years ago or has it changed? Secondly, where can I find your latest stable ML Build? Thanks in advance! Can't wait to start shooting gorgeous RAW footage with my EOS M!

This one is older but stable as well and works with monitors. But it's missing the 5K FRTP Mode:

Both will be fine. The top is the best, but it just needs a fix for Monitoring.

Yes they look exactly the same, just your one has the Feelworld logo on the front of the monitor. Mine has nothing. Also, yours is stated as 5.5", so not sure what's happened there. Either way, should function the same. 😎👍

Thanks for the video. I am a huge fan. Can you do external monitor with 2.5K or 2.8K RAW, instead of 1080p? For me, I have only left-half the external monitor displays the image, and right-half of the screen seems distorted.
Higher resolutions will cause more dropped frames issues. 2.5K HDMI Mode Preset is the best for use with monitors.

Hi Zeek. I have a Atomos Shinobi and with both my newly purchased EOS M’s, it’s basically a green screen. I can see the image ever so slightly, but obviously this is not workable. Just wondering if you’ve encountered this issue before.

Never encountered this before. Make sure it's in HDMI IN. The only time something like this has happened was with a faulty HDMI Cable, a new one sorted the issue out.

Hi Zeek, what a nice channel! I bought EosM and this monitor after i learned these from here, thank you! One question, the monitor seems only works with some of presets like 2.5k 1:1 ,x5crop etc. When i tried to use HD 1080p or any full size preset, my monitor display will be frozen and some times crashed my EOSM system ( i am using your shared version ML Best EOS M Build - Zeek Settings [OCT07]) . any suggestion to get a HD 1080 shot with monitor ?

For some wierd reason, something's been done to the latest builds which freeze the LV when using external monitors. I'll have to check it out.
If you have two SD Cards, one SD can keep the latest build and the other one can use the build I mentioned above which will work fine with monitors. It's the one I used in this video. 🎥🔥

By charge your camera, do you mean power it via dummy battery with the monitor? Or are you charging the battery internally in the camera?
Dummy battery inside the camera with a DC cable to the monitor.
Hi Zeek, does the monitor create pink frames on the other modes, besides 1080p?
Works with 1080, 5K FLV, FRTP & 1920x1080 1:1 Modes. The 2.5/2.8K will unfortunately get the pink frames due to the pressure on the camera. The M50 & 5D2 are absolutely fine. 🎥👌
This may have been asked before: Have you tried or do you know if the ATOMOS monitors work with this while also using the external recording function for external 10-14BIT recording? Im guessing HDMI OUT is clean/uncompressed with Magic Lantern? Thanks, Zeek
Yes HDMI Out is clean. There are no external benifits. ML RAW in camera Provides the best output as you can in post trancode to prores flavours, DNG, MP4 etc...
Hey Zeek, what version of ML are you running? I've been having issues when plugging in the feelworld monitors in which the camera freezes and then crashes. I've tested both monitors earlier and had no issues until I started to plug them him a couple of hours later. The forums haven't been helpful and kinda wondering where I can find an older ML build, as I'm running the Oct 23 build.

For some reason these latest builds aren't working too well with Monitors. Having two seperate SD cards for different purposes is maybe a good idea.

Tried looking for it online, package/papers don't state anything. Looks about maybe 300-350 Nits.
i highly doubt the eos M outputting and the monitor supporting interlaced video.
It's interlaced 1080i 60Hz
Hey, how do you charge the camera from the monitor through DSL or how you called it? it will work also with canon m50?
You need a dummy Adapter with a DC end and not USB end. You can get USB to DC Converters. And yes, this monitor will work with the M50 for sure.
Hi Zeek. I have ordered this monitor from your aliexpress link. I got it already and mine has FEELWORD printed on it so I guess its the same thing. I have a little problem as I am getting pink frames every now and then even in 1080p mode. I read that it can happen in higher resolution modes but 1080p should be ok. I am currently using "EOS M Nov20_2020 Settings" this built. Is that the right one to use with the monitor. I am using Scandisc Extreme Pro 170mb/s and overclocking to 190. Any thoughts what am i doing wrong and how to get rid pink frames?
Try overclocking 160Hz. You're not doing anything wrong, it's a fantastic monitor I still use on all my cameras for TH-cam. You're SD card should be good. Dropped frames occur when there's too much precessing power for the camera. Using 2.5K HDMI Mode, 5K FRTP Modes should do better. Otherwise use 1080 mode but try FPS Override 24.

Seems that with the latest builds the LV Freezes.
Careful ordering it from the first link Zeek provides (have all store) - they've take my money, asked me to cancel my order but lie about the reason. I refused to do this. Now my order is showing as shipped and delivered, the tracking information shows it arrived before I even ordered it. They are not answering my messages. I've started a chargeback with my credit card.

how are the mounting points for this, can you mount it onto a top handle? like mount it from the bottom, that's what I'm curious about
You can mount it to the side and bottom. There are screw slots on the bottom on side so you can unscrew and choose where to put the mount.

It's normal, try minimising the screen to a smaller box for playback. Works better 👍

Yes. You can use your smartphone (android) to monitor these modes. I made a vid about this.

The A6300 is nice, I've owned it before. It will be more detailed than the 5DIII. But if you enjoy grading more and pushing those colours, the 5D III will win, it has a natural raw cinematic look to it. Test the 5DIII with Magic Lantern and see how you like it, then make that choice. 😎👍
Lol nice problem! File size for raw 5D gonna be big! Short or feature length? A6300 slog2 is a pain(much more difficult) but file size wayyyy smaller. Just me, but I’d test to see if you can match in post & use each for different types of shots? Heavy on 5D cause post will be much preferred(skin above all). Plus lens coverage? Like what lenses you want/rent/own per camera?

If you charge it with a wall charger, it doesn't need a battery, just the 12v DC Wall Charger. Out and about you need a Sony battery or Canon LP Via Adapter.

Same here, tried two ali orders, they got cancelled so I ordered on ebay and got it today. Gotta study Zeek's video more, getting weird artifacts or freezing depending on the mode I'm in.

That has the same OSD, bracket, and features as the Andycine A6... but you only save 25 over Amazon's price
Yep! Andycine A6 is 5.7" inch though, this one feels tiny like a smartphone.

First of all, thank you for your wonderful work - started to create videos with the EOSM following your inspiration - you may check them at my channel.
I have realized that I really need a monitor for my shots, and I ask for your help: I have tried everything to make the 1080p mode work with a monitor, but neither the 2021june build, the newest 2022aug Danne's build, nor the 2020 build (th-cam.com/video/qZdFMugGb5o/w-d-xo.html) is working for me. I have followed your instructions (x3 and focus aid off) and have tried a normal PC monitor plus two Lilliput monitors at a shop, and none of them are working with the 1080p mode - everything is black once I choose the 1080p mode. (Interestingly, the high FPS mode works with all but with a stretched liveview.)
I see that some other guys have similar problems - It would be a great help for us if you could upload a build to google drive with your settings that makes 1080p mode work with a monitor - could this be possible? I appreciate your efforts in advance!
