    I have black ice on both my SUVs (4 runner and CR-V). Did two coats on each with one bottle and still have enough for one more coat on one vehicle. I maintain both with TLC2. Used Ceratrim on the 4 runner. Their stuff is awesome!
    Wait til the second cloth buff off or wait a week. My hand literally sometimes slips opening the door or closing the trunk!

      Would the 4oz bottle be enough to give a Toyota Tundra two coats?

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billmccann217 4oz I think you will be ok with 2 coats yes. But that's about it. I'd opt for the 8oz though just to be safe👍 you don't wanna sell yourself short on coverage by worrying about saving product✊

    • @TheAverageJoeX
      @TheAverageJoeX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billmccann217 I agree. 4oz should be enough for 2 coats on the tundra plus all the glass. The truck is bigger in general, but you have a short roof and smaller rear panels. Plus I went really heavy on my first coat of the 4 Runner, doing 4-5 sprays on the applicator per panel.

    I just put this on my 91 300 ZXA few weeks ago. I did a wash, applied iron off, did clay bar, and used 3D 2in1 for paint correction and Polish. Used a paint preps to removed any leftover oils also. I put 2 Coats of Black Ice on it, one coat of TLC2, and a coat of AMP. I am totally amazed at the shine, luster and slickness of the car. It literally looks like it's encapsulated under glass. Can't wait to see your final results after you apply TLC2 and AMP. I know I am a probably a life long customer of theirs now!

      I can tell you that the seal n shine will give you better hydrophobics.. but the shine and gloss is outstanding with the black ice.. I've topped it with TLC2 and amp... and still not very happy with the hydrophobics.. will be finding another topper. This doesn't mean the black ice is gone... just lost its ability to be hydrophobic. I will find a topper that will give me what I'm looking for. Seal an shine will be more chemical resistant too.

    Hey PapaSmurf918 - I picked up a bottle of Black Ice last Month and looking forward to applying it next Spring (Currently too cold over here in the East coast). Enjoyed your enthusiastic feedback on the product and was wondering if you still feel positive with the product after your initial application?
    I noticed a bottle of Malco SAP on your shelf. What is your experience with it and have you done a video on it? (I'm not able to find it locally in my area) Other than FAB's video, there isn't many reviews on it. Thanks in advance.

      Hey my friend!!! So, I loved everything a about Black ice as far as application was soooo easy to use. It was very slick too!!! Gloss is incredible.. my feedback after application.. It lost slickness pretty quick which isn't a problem when you have amp as a topper. My only complaint is after about 2-3 Months it'd hydrophobics took a huge hit. Now, could have been something I did, but I feel I prepped vehicle very well. Even after using amp and even TLC2 the hydrophobics just weren't strong. Which is weird because I like TLC2 and the hydrophobics are great. I honestly don't know what happened but that my experience. Shoot could have been a bad bottle! I honestly feel that there are better products in form of performance for cheaper. Based off of my opinion and testing. Not knocking TLC at all though!!! 👍 the Malco SAP I mainly use for tree sap and stubborn sticky stuff lol. Works great! I actually bought it from FAB 😄😄

      I actually just watched it yesterday! Pretty disappointing man to be honest. I can already tell it's not the most hydrophobic out of the gates. I'll see how long I can get out of it.. its weird cause TLC2 by itself was much more hydrophobic.. the gloss and shine are outstanding but, hydrophobics are not that great out of the black ice. Plus this isn't a " true coating " so I wouldn't expect more than 6 months out if spray product..

      @@PapaSmurf918Detail I totally agree man, I had high hopes. But that’s why we try different products right? I still like TLC2 though and I agree, it’s more hydrophobic. I use that a lot in my business, very popular for people who want protection but don’t want to pony up for a full coating. Good news is that TLC has shown they listen to customer feedback so maybe they’ll come out with a black ice v2.

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be awesome for a v2 of black ice! Another thing is I think for the most part we're spoiled with awesome hydrophobics from other products that we tend to see less hydrophobics as a sign of no protection when in reality just cause I product is hydrophobic doesn't mean its " protected " ya know? Idk I'll still give this a shot but I most likely will strip it at the 6 month mark anyways cause I have OCD like that😂 my winter is only 4 months anyways so long as it gets me through it!
