    Lots of keyboard professionals leaving some pretty harsh comments. He is at a detailing shop, where the guy details as a profession, he provides detailing services for monetary compensation. That is a professional.
    They're just having some fun casually playing with the product and having a conversation about the experience.. nothing more, nothing less.. it's not an instructional or a how-to, it's a commentary.. lighten up..
    Thanks for the video! 👍👌✌

  • @buckhorncortez
    @buckhorncortez 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've used The Last Coat for a year. It lasts about 6 months if you don't reapply it. But, it's so easy to put on, I've started to use it after every wash. The vehicle is a 2019, Ford F350 dually that sits outside 24/7/365 in New Mexico so it is subject to intense UV everyday. It works, but it is expensive. The cost is made up by the fact you don't need to apply a lot of it. As shown in this video, you spray it on the towel, apply lightly, let it dry and then buff off. I've tried a variety of sprays from: Meguiars, Wolfgang, Rupes, Chemical Guys, Zaino, Duragloss, Blackfire, Griot's Garage, Zymol, and a few more that I've forgotten. The Last Coat lasts longer, provides better protection and a higher gloss. But, it is expensive...

      I hear that man. Pretty much agree with everything you said. Have you tried it on interiors?

  • @stevemiller8282
    @stevemiller8282 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The Guys at The Last coat told me that you put it on a micro-fabric rag then after it sits for two min. you buffet with a dry micro- fabric very lightly. Maid my 2017 corvette supper shiny and smooth and very slippery. after 24 hours you can put another coat. I believe you let it sit to long. You might call them.

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly as a pro I feel like we got a nice application! It's a really good consumer ceramic -- no harm in putting it on thick as long as it doesnt leave "high spots"

  • @Seymour890
    @Seymour890 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That product is being applied too thick on the vehicle even for sealant, so actually that why you’ll have that damp look on application, 1-2 oz should be enough for that minivan ,after you change you cloth if it’s too damp. I’m my past months of experience it is a strong consumer grade product for safety glasses respirator and gloves, for safety.
    But you have made good point for us diy/car enthusiasts a clean surface for application
    People think they can just apply anything on anyway at times and expect the best results

    I thought TLC was a Facebook gimmick, but I watched a few videos like this and decided to try it. It's legit good stuff! The easiest protectant I've ever used. A little goes a long way, so even if it only lasts a few weeks, it's so easy to wipe on and wipe off after a wash you can literally do your entire car in minutes. I tried it on a newer 2019 car as well as a 2016 with 80,000 miles on it. Both cars shined up nicely and both bead and sheet water.
    I'd be less likely to wax my car due to the work involved and having to be careful not to get it on plastics. TLC can be used on glass, plastic...everything! You can wipe it on fast and wipe it off easily.

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude I thought the same thing. This must be a gimmick, right?! But I think it checks boxes for ease of use and performance for most car owners and not just pro detailers. Try it as a final protectsnt on your interior plastics leather and vinyl. Matt finish but just a little pop. I love it

    • @ChadHargis
      @ChadHargis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't tried it on the interior yet. But there is no reason not to. DanSan would never learn karate using this stuff...so much easer than wax on/wax off. :)

    So, what is the preferred “paint prep”? I’m planning on using this product after clay bar and a cleaner wax. Would that suffice?

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wash, clay and then go to o'reilly auto parts and get dupli color wax and grease remover (well, go there first lol so you have it before you wash). You can use it as a drying aid, you just want to make sure it gets on every surface you plan to apply the last coat to. Using wax and grease remover ensures the paint is as "virgin" as possible. If you get the spray stuff, it works great. If you get aerosol, that's pretty serious stuff so wear a respirator. After applying and wiping off...Then apply the last coat. If you don't do it perfectly, it's no biggie -- the last coat will still look great and bead and such. And you can apply it again next time you wash it. With a product this forgiving (tlc version 2), there aren't too many rules that are hard and fast.

      We used an IR cure lamp on this (in the video) which should simulate a long cure time.
