  • Follow along as I replace the right axle seal of my 67 Belvedere. It has a 7.25 inch rear axle since it has a slant six. I got really lucky finding axle seals that were only used for a few years, and I try to only use NOS parts as replacement. The problem is solved, and the brake shoes were savable, thankfully.

You caught that before it puked all over your shoes (brake). Good attention to maintenance!!! Love the OEM MoPar parts👍

Every aftermarket part has failed on me. This car is still running perfectly on its original cap and rotor.

Good video on this axle replacement. I just ordered a pinion seal for my 9 inch in the LTD. 😊

Thank you! Eventually, I'll have to go through the differential because she sings. But I'll push it off until it annoys me too much. 🤣

great you can get Mopar parts still Jas...couple tips...you can put the drum on backwards, wind a couple nuts just on the studs and use that as a slide hammer of sorts...also be careful reinstalling the axle as the weight of the axle laying on the new seal can deform the shape and they will leak again....ask me how I know...heres to many miles of happy driving mate, get out and enjoy the car and the open road.. I see you were Jaybo certified too, good job Jason

Nothing is more heart warming, than getting Jaybo certified! New shirt/sticker idea Blake? Also, using the drum as a slide hammer is a good idea. My fear, is that it could warp or crack the axle flange area of the drum, and the 10x1.75 drums on this car are unavailable anywhere. Still, that is a viable option for most rear axle removals. I agree with not letting the axle sit on the seal, hopefully the seal stays a seal. Thanks for watching Aaron!

Ha ha... If the seal goes on my 72 darts 7 1/4....it will get yanked in favor of a 8 3/4 out of a 70 charger.... Bye bye 7 1/4 big bolt pattern out of a 74 dart sport...to the recycle with you! 😂

I don't blame you one bit. I actually have an 8¾ for the car. It'll get upgraded when I put springs in the car.
