I got this phone when it first came out. It is Nov of 2018 as I write this and I am still using it. I use the GPS every time I am on the road, I watch you tube videos on it everyday, The front screen has no scratches on it even though I never got a case for it. Surprisingly the battery life is still good after all these years.

Hello! My parents bought me a Moto G for Christmas, and last week I dropped it and shattered the screen, now the screen has weird patterns on it and big blotches all over it. I realized that you have two, and one you put through this water test, I really need a phone, and I don't want my parents to have to buy me a new one. All I'm asking is if you could maybe, with the slightest chance send me the one that you put through the water for 30 minutes. If not it's fine, don't worry about it. Like I said on your other video, it would mean a lot to me if you did this. Your videos are great and over the past few days I've been watching a lot of them, and you go into a lot of detail with the reviews, which is what I don't see with any other reviews.

Bought this today and for £120 I am extremely impressed and I am a android geek and games developer so this phone should run fine with the games I make. Still can't get over the fact it last 30 mins undamaged under water. Thanks for this review and keep making videos!

Dropped my Galaxy S3 in March from 3 feet on to hardwood floors, the screen didn't crack but started turning colors to purple and the whole screen eventually went out. 3 repairs later and the screen is done for. Bought this and I like it even better than my S3, besides the camera. Doesn't matter to me much though.
I've actually spent the last 6 months looking for a phone to finally replace my HTC Trophy 7 on a budget. You've just found it for me! As soon as i possibly can i'll be buying one of these (:Thanks for all the information & help.

I've had phone a few months and I can say I am extremely impressed with it. I've had dozen of other brand phones and expensive one and this one by far is my favorite.
This would make a great kids phone because of its durability.
I grabbed one of these to replace an aging HTC Desire variant. Decent handset, for the price it's a steal, frankly.
Your review correlates pretty much with my findings - as someone who is out and about a lot this is a phone that I just don't worry about breaking. And it's escaped my grip a few times, including across a tiled floor - still intact!

For the people who lives where the dual sim version is sold: the dual sim version comes with 5 back covers(different collors) and comes with adapter. however people are saying that it dosent goes well underwater.
Erica Griffin Im Confused...i have a micro sd and a micro sim slot i have the 2013 edition and it says i have 8gb in the sd card (which i do) and 8gb in phone storage please reply and help me...

The review is a piece of art you seem as much in love with life and the world at large(and thats a rarity) as you are with the moto g. My first and 4th smartphones were/are Moto G's. I had a Moto G 2014 as my first phone, and I'm now using a Moto G7 Power. Both are fantastic.
I have been using it for 1 year without any problem. This is an awesome phone :)

I'll add that motto assist is the biggest battery hog of the phone (cuts battery life in half) and the battery life gets crazy good with it disabled.

Great review! I just got the Motorola moto g, and it is my first smart phone. I know this is not a high-end smart phone, but it seems very capable. I've got a lot to learn about how to use its many functions.

a month or so ago my mother-in-law was in desperate need of a phone upgrade, she was using her 3+ year old huawei running Eclair... it was the free phone back then so it was garbage... based on seeing a few youtubers vids (including yours) and seeing that VZ had it for $99 with a $50 a month prepaid plan, I drove her down to the local VZ store and picked it up, she loves it (as she should moving up about 5 generations of phones haha)... i'm impressed with it, great size, good looks and it just works well

I just find it somewhat strange that Sony is the only manufacturer who offers a hole for a strap on their phones. To me it's a dealbreaker since i always seem to drop my phone. But with a strap that i can wrap around my wrist whenever i use the phone, i have managed to save my phone from disaster many many times. The reason why i mention this is that you noticed that the Moto G doesn't have that great grip to it. Btw, thanks for your great reviews, they are a real pleasure to watch.

Got this and i agree with everything you said. Tried to wet it in the shower (not ballsy enough to dip it lol) and was impressed even more. One thing that disappointed me is that it cant detect those earphones with 3 black rings (with mic and or media controls). I have to remove it a bit so i can hear audio. Still for a phone in this price range, it's a blessing. Tyvm for this review and i really like your voice and how you present everything enthusiastically . Looking forward for your other in depth reviews for my future device purchase. Became an instant fan after watching this vid.
I forgot to mention that I am really really considering buying this particular phone mostly cause of your detailed review , the downsize is that I live in Greece and and although in amazon it costs from 179.99$ to 199.99$ per version, in Greece it costs from 170 Euro up to 220 Euro per version which is annoying considering the currency exchange rate!

I like this device so much! I already have a HTC One (M7) but I just can't get over the fact that I could've had 3 Moto G's for that price! I'm seriously thinking of buying this the Moto G since it can do almost everything that my HTC One can do..
i m so confused about OTG feature of dis fon. some says it supports USB flashdrives, Some says it doesn't and some says USB OTG stops working after upgrading to 4.4.2.

I think viewing angles are overrated. That light that's going off to the side, that's the light not hitting your eyes when you're looking at it straight on in sunlight. If they were able to have a consistent light output within a range of angles, and kill it starting with a particular angle, battery efficiency could be improved a lot.
That sounds like the wrong solution, given how the screen size is tiny anyway.
Everybody has a phone, right? And when you're together, you are either likely on the same WLAN, or otherwise an ad-hoc WLAN can be negotiated, right? Why not allow to stream the screen to their phone? Not all phones have NFC to allow to pair them up quickly, but all have a screen and a camera, so 2D Barcodes (aka QR Code) can be used to transfer the key data between two devices and pair them up.
Failing that, i think it's best to cuddle closer together anyway :P Cuddling with friends is the best thing ever!
Siana Gearz viewing angles are important for when u have your phone lying lying on a table and if something pops up u don't have to face as much of a perpendicular angle to see as good. Otherwise it's pretty pointless

I just got this phone today and it awesome
If you go to one of the screens (like the home screen for ex.) and swipe up you can add and delete them. You can also acsess a bunch of other features.

Just bought the Moto G 3rd Generation. I'm surprised at the quality of this phone for the price...which is less than a quarter of the price of a new I Phone or latest Galaxy Phone. Thumbs Up for your review.
I got the Moto g 8gb Verizon prepaid 69.99 at best buy. Its a steal. I'm amazed at this phone. The screen is beautiful. The audio from headphones is AMAZING a lot of bass idk what she's talking about. But liked this review and this phone.. 200-300$ phones don't even come close to the moto g. What a value!

any reason why manufacturer choose not to make battery removable?? in some cases, it makes the phone thinner.. but the moto g is not that thin... why battery is no removable??

ERICA, Yes in fact this is a very good in depth coverage of this phone. Far better than the mundane lady that tries to explain the phone from the Consumer Cellular point of view which leaves the view wondering why isn't there more? I actually liked the equalizer/sound effects thingy. I'm a music geek and my last phone was the HTC one sv with beats audio and I must say, this phone speaker is better, I love how loud it is. If you're wanting a great phone for a good price then this is definitely the way yo go.

I bought the 8gb model since in my country the price is about USD195 with 16gb model cost USD30 more (which means a lot) but the package does include extra cover (color is random) and charger (w/o usb cable). Being a secondary phone I don't really use the phone much except for some small apps but hey, this is the best budget phone if you really care about getting the latest android update and with support for USB OTG, 5gb left on board with no sd card support is pretty small sacrifice :)

BTW, the question regarding the Home Screens is easily solved by downloading Nova Launcher from the Play Store.
I use it and wouldn't be without it.
You can then ditch the standard and somewhat annoying 5 home screens and reduce them, or add to them just like on Samsung's "Touch Wiz." And, it doesn't slow the phone down at all!
I need help...I downloaded/uploaded music from my desktop computer (windows media player) to my moto g.....where can I find and listen to it without subscribing to anything??? thanks!
Google play music it should be pre installed on the phone
whatony15 thank you....yes, I have Google play music, but I can't do anything without subscribing to it....$9.99/mo... All I want to do is listen to my CD collection.
uncle freddie YOUR MUSIC WILL SHOW UP IN THE GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC APP you don't need a subscription to use it for phone media and songs. All my uploaded media goes right into the Google play music app.

Another review, mine is one month old, i'm totally loves this phone!
I have this phone for a month now and man i love this phone. This phone using mobile data(that is supose to eat ur battery) in 14hours using it consistantly only used 75% of the battery. The 16gb is full and the phone doesnt freeze at all! Only thing i dislike about this phone is that it doesnt come with an SD card reader. Other than that this phone is perfect

Amazing phone! It is the phone I have right now, and to be honest, it is a very, VERY sturdy phone. The gorillaglass does its job very well, I have dropped it a couple of times, me and my friend did a little tug of war fighting over it, and NOT A SCRATCH. I have had an iPhone in the past, and if you were to ask me to choose between iPhone and Moto G, I would probably choose Moto G. I like the weight, it is not a problem for me, in my opinion it is a great first phone, sturdy enough to take a couple drops.
You got to go to settings and where it says assistance por something like that, and you activaré Google Now :)
There is a big price difference between the 16 & 8 Gig. I paid $89.99 flat out for 8 G from Newegg I'm waiting for delivery right now. The usb port is otg so you can add a thumb drive or such, for extra space. Good review though Thanks.
