Wooo! That was really long, but totally worth it, going to get my Nexus 5 in a couple of days, in my opinion it is totally worth it. Plus with the new software updates to 4.2.2, the camera has improved.
Depends on what iems are you using with Nexus it can be loud or not. DAC inside is amazing, it's one of those rare phones that plays 24/192 audio which is considered "HD" or studio quality audio. No hiss at all and no sibilance and distorsions at high volumes unlike 90% of android phones (iPhones are usually lot better in that department). Very detailed and nice review but many people use smartphone instead of some digital audio players like iPod so I think you should speak more about audio quality (while using headphones). :)

My nexus 5 uses on average 1% per 4.5 minutes of screen on time brightness set to about 1/4 Lte on, WiFi on, Google now off,NFC off, Bluetooth off, that is basically 450 minutes of screen time (about 7.5 hours) but then its dead. Usually I get around 5 hours screen with 16 hours total in the day for idle. Good enough I think?

That was the best review I got the nexus 5and have to say you are right on and you showed me some great things a out my phone. The camera is exactly as you described it not bad though I think it takes descent picture for what I need. The battery is exactly like you said I charge it at least once a day but I am OK with that. The overall phone is the best I have ever used and love the Google now experience. I would like to see an update from Google for the camera but other than. That this is an amazing device.

The battery life isn't so bad, as what most people say. Then again, I did upgrade from an old Samsung Galaxy S1 (vibrant). Which only gave me a good 4 hours of battery life - at constant usage. The Nexus 5 gives me about 6hours of constant usage before it runs out of juice.

It's a real handson video, not to much crap about specs. It's a great explanation about the usability thumbs up for that! Most of my smartphone/tablet experience is based on IOS so while orientading this video made things more clear about Android KitKat and it's functionalities(Compared to many other review videos). It had a nice personal touch to it, which made it easy to follow. To be honest it didn't seem like a one hour video to me as I was watching

HDR is high dynamic range. It's a technique that photographers use. We take several identical frames of a subject or scene, and vary the settings in each. Then we retouch them and put them together in a way that displays the highlights of each photo, all in a single image. HDR+ would automatically do that for you while discarding the previous images after they've been used for the resulting image.

Erica great job! One small point to note! Network signal strength is not 100% accurate at measuring interference or data throughput! General measurements -100 to -120 usually shows dropped calls. -90 to -100 week signal strength -80 to 70 fair signal strength -70 to -60 good signal strength -60 and below great strength Cell phone transmission and reception you over simplified.

Loved your review. I have a Play Store 32 GB on Sprint and it lags here and there but overall I'm getting decent battery life about 6 hours with non-stop music streaming and I'm pleased with my Nexus 5. Mine is already on Kit Kat 4.4.2 and the camera issues have been fixed. Erica your reviews are awesome, keep up the good wor.

4.4.2 which released today fixes SOOOOOO much about the camera. It autofocuses properly now, and the colors are different.

Looks like a great phone and most of the problems shown in this video have been addressed in the 4.4.2 update. Battery still sucks, though.
