The amount of work that happened to make this video is truly mind-blowing, Just like all the rest of your videos. Also, this video is shot and edited amazingly good. Good job to everyone who made this at watchtower database! Also to answer the question of what I want to see from the DCU, id say I want to truly see everything that makes DC so special to me come to life on the bigscreen. I have so much faith in it and can't wait to see what's in store for the future of DC!
Now that was incredible, I love how you guys are constantly pushing things to the next level. The timeline goodness that we all know and love, plus some globetrotting, plus a healthy dose of big band energy, equals a cinematic experience that'd make Zack Snyder weep. More big band James in the future, please! Now for your next trick, time to sort out by the X-Men movie timeline.
The amount of production effort that went into this just to have different changes in scenery in relation to each of the films is something to be admired. And James isn't too bad on the euphonium either (that's what that instrument is called, right?). My main hope for the next live-action DC movie universe would be similar to what James mentioned: to see something that embraces the style of the comics more as well as Aquaman and Shazam! did, as opposed to the more gritty, muted style of Zack Snyder that I saw define most of the DCEU films and may not be to every fan's cup of tea. The DCEU never did much to really pull me in to their movies as well as the MCU always did, but based on James Gunn's MCU experience I already have confidence in his ability that he can do the DC universe and its characters... justice.
I think it is kinda a shame, DCs animated movies and series are generally a lot better then Marvel's but most of the live action movies are a bit lack luster. It is pretty hopeful that Gunn's Peace keeper show was in my opinion the best of them all though so I hope the next DCU will be better. I think Snyder is a bit too dark to really work well with the rather colorful DCU, Marvel have always been a bit darker in the comics (with some exceptions of course) while DC have been more colorful and hopeful. The Marvel movies were kinda closer to the DC universe then the often dark DC movies at least in spirit. Yeah, it is fine that Batman is darker and Hellblazer (and anything else under the Vertigo brand) should be dark as well, but maybe with some humor in. The general DC movies should not be though, Superman is the most uplifting of all comic heroes and Snyder was not the director I would have picked for that. A Dc movie should be fun too watch, and they have done a great job with all the animated movies there.
just wanted to say that this channel is genuinely one of my favorites because i'm autistic and the dcu is one of my special interests so i just !!! love these videos sm the production quality and attention to detail is so good
Wow, this is incredible, thank you for wasting yours and my time, really appreciate it! Let’s just prey to the Greek gods that the DCU actually makes just a lick of sense
37:28 I love those types of corrections like "this came out after the movie was set". I love them because it shows how weird those errors are: if a quick internet search can make everyone know something, why didn't those who make the movie know?
Wow. I am so glad this popped up on my feed! This was BRILLIANT! Phenomenal production values, engaging writing, music actually provided by the creator -- whaaaat?! James, I knew you were awesome from your DCAU stuff, but this makes you a certified genius in my headcanon! Seriously, this is one of the most entertaining long-form videos I have watched in ages. Your team deserves a solid round of applause. Bravo, y'all! Bravo!!
Man i love this more than watching regular tv good work i had great time wstching it getting headaches trying to figure out the timelines with you in your journey amazing bravo 👏
My hope for the DCU is that it prioritizes exploration and steady development of its central characters rather than taking a scatter-brained approach where only four movies focus on the “core characters”. What I hope is maintained from the DCEU is the directors being allowed to express their own artistic vision with their movies rather than the “house-style” approach most MCU movies take. Lastly, thank you, James, for providing an interpretation of The Flash’s post-credits scene that actually gives me closer. Most say Barry’s in the Clooney-Verse, but I like your take that he had to keep fixing the timeline until it was the regular DCEU again.
This was an absolutely amazing journey lmao. Definitely feel free to venture out beyond the DCAU more often. Don't get me wrong, I very much want _that_ content, but from time to time phenomenal videos like these (and of course smaller videos unrelated to the DCAU are more than welcome) It also blows my mind that they don't have a dude like you checking and piecing these things together as a connected universe unfolds. You'd think it would matter to studios, but I guess money machine goes brrrrr instead
As I haven't yet seen The Flash I kept reminding myself to exit when you got there; and of course, I didn't. Thankfully actual 'spoilers' were minimal and the big one was unavoidable; I got hit with it in someone's video title the day the movie came out. Overall rating for this effort is 5 interfering corporate executives out of 5.
Great video ,The Dedication to this video is really strong I can tell this video took months to make, I appreciate how much passion you have for DC even if its costing a bit of your sanity lol
I watched this because of you. Your personality. Your presentation. This disjointed mess of a timeline doesn’t interest me at all but I loved every minute of it
Damn good video. I hope to see from Gunn’s DCU a wider understanding of what makes DC’s characters special. I want to see other characters like more of Earth’s Green Lanterns, Dick Grayson as Nightwing, maybe Jason and Tim, Superman being given a fun and compelling story where he is not cartoonishly goody and not edgy or evil but a Superman who isn’t naive and tries to do his best to help people while also addressing the hard stuff like war and politics and how much he should be involved in
Have to be honest the moment I found out Killer Moth in that movie was just going to be a generic goon in a tracksuit with a moth tattoo on the back of their head I lost a lot of sympathy for it getting smothered in the craddle
@@hectorminator He played Firefly not Killer Moth. I've also never been one to care about the casting of characters in comic films, George Clooney is an otherwise good actor after all and yet...
@@venividi8523 so you’re just already in the camp that believes Batgirl is an unreleasable film? Okay. Killer Moth and Firefly aside, it had great talent behind and in front of the cameras, so we as comic fans should know, if something isn’t always exactly like the comics, it doesn’t mean it’s automatically dismissible. (Most of the DCEU strayed from the source material, but that’s fine. It was good in some cases.) All I’m saying is, don’t be so quick to side with the STUDIO who got a tax break on this when they say they had no choice but to shelve it. That’s not fair.
@@hectorminator I don't think it's unreleasable (though for legal reasons it might be), but I'm personally grateful we didn't get the film because it was part of Hamada's plan to phase out Cavill and Afleck's Superman and Batman and replace them with Keaton's Batman and Calle's Supergirl in the DCEU. That's why (Spoiler) The Flash originally ended with Keaton and Calle being at the courthouse instead of Clooney, and Batgirl was going to be a sequel to that. I much prefer the DCEU be scrapped entirely over furthering the mess that was the DCEU like Batgirl was going to do, only it would've messed it up far worse in my opinion.

Also to answer the question of what I want to see from the DCU, id say I want to truly see everything that makes DC so special to me come to life on the bigscreen. I have so much faith in it and can't wait to see what's in store for the future of DC!
Thank you!
Holy canoli, your guys' editing is next level! It is so inspiring.
Thank you!
Ayyyy tysm ❤
Wow. That was wow! I’m glad there’s a finality to the Dceu like the Dcau. Farewell dceu. This was a nice bow on top, thank you
I like that the writing and production quality of this video is better and more consistent than the DCEU.
I appreciate the time and work you did on this timeline, sir.
James is insane for doing this, and I love it! I never knew I needed this but I Sure as hell did!
The DCEU never did much to really pull me in to their movies as well as the MCU always did, but based on James Gunn's MCU experience I already have confidence in his ability that he can do the DC universe and its characters... justice.
Thank you! Euphonium is correct!
A Dc movie should be fun too watch, and they have done a great job with all the animated movies there.
just wanted to say that this channel is genuinely one of my favorites because i'm autistic and the dcu is one of my special interests so i just !!! love these videos sm the production quality and attention to detail is so good
Thank you!
GODDAMN IS THIS SO WELL MADE AND ENTERTAINING!!!! Hats off James and all involved!
Thank you!
First of all RESPECT to you guys for even tackling this at all. Second I’ll totally watch the whole thing when I get out of work!😂
But this still doesn't answer the most pressing question...
What is Brunch?
Bravo!!
Thanks so much, Tim!
This was so cool, every video you all make is incredible!👏👏👏
I discovered this account within the last week and have been bingeing every video I can. Amazing content
You guys are legitimately amazing, please don’t ever give up!
I literally have the same jacket you were wearing in the ZSJL segment. That threw me through a loop fr
It’s a nice jacket!
Loving the cinematic approach to this
Your version of “do ya wanna taste it” is so good, I wish there was a full version available
Just wait ‘til you get to the end ;)
(Thank you!)
Watchtower Database did the longer video? Nice! And it is time to goodbye to the DCEU.
Most MCU movies don’t take a “house style” approach.
This was an absolutely amazing journey lmao. Definitely feel free to venture out beyond the DCAU more often. Don't get me wrong, I very much want _that_ content, but from time to time phenomenal videos like these (and of course smaller videos unrelated to the DCAU are more than welcome)
It also blows my mind that they don't have a dude like you checking and piecing these things together as a connected universe unfolds. You'd think it would matter to studios, but I guess money machine goes brrrrr instead
You absolute madman. Thank you I bet the time and dedication to make this was intense. Good job ser
I love how you make a music intro for these movies , I was a tuba player but I was never good as you
I applaud you James, this was an incredible video and I enjoyed every second of it
Watching the channel for years, it’s so great to see how the channel has grown and all your skills have as well
Absolutely loved this video. Y'all are so talented
I really enjoyed your descent into madness. The production quality of this video is pure cinema. Thank you for making this!
Thanks! 😁
Music performance is on a whole other level.
"these people really don't think these things through, do they?"
No. No they do not.
this was amazing, I didn´t expect to get this hooked to the video. Top tier quality, congrats!
Just having different movies featuring the rock is hilarious to me.
this is one of the best made videos i've seen in a long time, really hope this blows up.
Can’t believe we lived through a decade of this .
You've already seen and read this, but holy crap this is amazing editing, research, and attention to detail! Keep up the work man
Thank you!
Already loving this banger. Less than a minute in.
Oh nice, you play euphonium. Great work as always, hope you're having a good day
Yes!! Been waiting for this , my viewing for tonight 👊
These euphonium covers seriously go hard. Great video.
Thank you!
This is by far the best thing to come out of the DCEU
Great video ,The Dedication to this video is really strong I can tell this video took months to make, I appreciate how much passion you have for DC even if its costing a bit of your sanity lol
So excited to see the timeline of my favorite murderers in DC adaptation history
I watched this because of you. Your personality. Your presentation. This disjointed mess of a timeline doesn’t interest me at all but I loved every minute of it
Hell yeah! Good job, ik this video took weeks to create!!!
I 👏🏾 LOVE 👏🏾 THESE 👏🏾 VIDEOS 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Keep it up James and co.
Fargo is still on. Maybe they got season 5 earlier.
Damn good video. I hope to see from Gunn’s DCU a wider understanding of what makes DC’s characters special. I want to see other characters like more of Earth’s Green Lanterns, Dick Grayson as Nightwing, maybe Jason and Tim, Superman being given a fun and compelling story where he is not cartoonishly goody and not edgy or evil but a Superman who isn’t naive and tries to do his best to help people while also addressing the hard stuff like war and politics and how much he should be involved in
Here we go!
Production quality on this video is insane! Great job!!
Didn't Harley get an MD (at least? Possible she was in a combined MD/PhD program, I guess...)?
When Maggie and negan got shot was too funny ngl 13:20
Awesome video.
Justice for Batgirl!
Have to be honest the moment I found out Killer Moth in that movie was just going to be a generic goon in a tracksuit with a moth tattoo on the back of their head I lost a lot of sympathy for it getting smothered in the craddle
@@venividi8523 How can any character portrayed by Brendan Fraser be anything close to "generic"?
I respect the fact you actually went to the places related to the movie you were talking about, dedication!
SS ‘16 Totally rode GotG’s coattails even trying to duplicate it’s overall tone/vibe (“we’re a family now guys” ugh!)
Then the sequel was made by the guy who made Guardians
Stumbled across this video. And I have to say I love everything about your style of videos. It keeps my adhd brain engaged. Which is fantastic. So thank you for sharing. Excited to see what you do next!
Thank you! Check out our other (DCAU) stuff when you get the chance!
Some of yall already talking abt aquaman and blue beetle without watching the video 😅
This is AMAZING.
I’ve been watching you guys since you first started. Admittedly I haven’t seen your content in a long time. The increase in the production quality is INSANE. Please keep it up. I’m so proud of you guys!!!
Thank you so much!
Funny how James Gunn worked with DCEU, until getting handed the keys to the kingdom. Excited to see you cover his upcoming new timeline.
This was all around so informative and hilarious watch . Great job all around for everything that was put in to make this video. Will definitely rewatch this from time to time
