I'm so glad I discovered this series. Watching this part feels like graduating and moving away from my hometown, bittersweet. Grateful for the hours and hours you've put into these videos. It was a hell of a ride for the MCU :)
That's how I felt when I watched all four parts of the transformers retrospective, these retrospectives really grip me because they focus on all the details- it really gives me the nostalgia with this type of format, this MCU series especially-
After watching, I can completely understand why you're tapping out of the MCU. I partially did already, with not watching any of the latest shows (except for Secret Invasion). I'm so grateful for your MCU retrospectives as it helped me re-live everything I enjoyed, and also summarized what I missed from the shows I skipped. Either way, glad this video series introduced me to your channel!
@@SirYello I've actually been enjoying it quite a bit! I had decided to give it a try because it seemed to have a grittier tone, which was refreshing after the MCU's recent oversaturation of humor. So far I think it's been worth the watch.

okay but "scooby-doo this shit" is actually a pretty fire line to come from a frustrated Dr. Strange to Peter, it's built on Peter annoying the shit out of everyone by making all the pop culture references when they were in space
Just watched through the entire retrospective and loved it! A shame to see your MCU journey come to an end as your videos perfectly capture the anticipation leading to each film and TV series, but I can understand. While Phase 4 and the current beginning of Phase 5 have split audiences, I appreciated the experimentation with each entry. Whether that was for the best is entirely subjective to the viewer, but I’ll continue to watch the MCU as there is still no franchise that has been able to replicate this level of world building, interconnectivity, and characters that I have grown to love and invest in. But as Tony himself put it best: “Part of the journey is the end….”.
I like how you build hype up every movie/tv series before they're out, explaining them then telling how they actually turn out instead of foreshadowing how they goes. Pretty great
The first 4 episodes were really good but episode 5 was a downgrade and episode 6 was straight up terrible. Would’ve been an 8 or 9/10 if it kept the quality of the first few episodes up, but the shit finale dragged it down to a 6/10.

As someone who's been with the MCU since the beginning and enjoyed it just as much now as I always have, it's sad to see you go. And especially see the completely different tone this video has from the previous ones. But I understand your exhaustion. It was really nice hearing you be so passionate about the MCU! I feel while the ride may be bumpy for now, I still have a good few more years in me. Who knows, maybe something will pull you back in at some point. Regardless, thank you for your heartfelt videos. And for your time loving the MCu with us! Goodluck on your future adventures!
As an obsessive MCU fan, I fully respect your decision to step away from it now. It's getting hard to maintain hope that all these movies will come together in any sort of satisfying way, and that can be exhausting. Thanks for these wonderful retrospectives, they're full of passion and honesty and the wonder and excitement we all felt watching the movies be rolled out one by one. Can't wait to see what you do next!
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law just frustrated me and I gave up long before the end. She is an attorney that demonstrates that she has nearly ZERO knowledge of the law and frequently breaks the law and her oath as a lawyer. I know the Marvel Universe assumes that we will take many leaps of faith, but when you mix in things that most viewers have a basic understanding of and them show the protagonist as incompetent in doing these things yet desires to be recognized for the skills that she doesn't demonstrate, I just have to check out.
Daredevil/ Matt Murdock also breaks many laws in his vigilante work. The difference is that he actually knows, understands, and struggles with it. Jennifer probably thinks she is above the law for being a lawyer. Hell, she probably isn't very certain what actions are , and are not, legal, given her displayed legal skills.
I love your retrospective videos! But I can tell by the tone of your voice and less instances of your “oh boy” that you’re so done with the MCU. I feel you completely! Hopefully the movies pick up in quality in the next phase so you can make another one of these videos!
Thanks for all the work you put into these retrospectives!! I've thoroughly enjoyed them and can't wait for whatever you do next. Hope to see more on the Mission: Impossible films, maybe when Dead Reckoning Part Two comes out. But I'll stick around for anything you make. Have a good one!
I’ve been excitedly anticipating this retrospective for two years, rewatching your last four and of course binging every other retrospective. I’m quite sad to hear this’ll be your last of the MCU, but I understand. Maybe they’ll turn it around and change your mind… Thanks for this three hours of A1 commentary!
I totally get that you're over it now, BUT I have to say it's refreshing to hear a retrospective form someone who is actually a fan. Not someone that just wants to watch whatever show or movie is hot, not one of the people that have strong-armmed their way into "nerd culture" but an honest to goodness fan. She Hulk wasn't the best programming of all time, but I liked it. Same for Hawkeye, i'd probably never rewatch those two shows but they were both cool. As with all real fans IMO im just grateful to see a live action rendition. Again, amazing job my G you killed it
Yeah I completely agree with your current take on the MCU. It’s getting super exhausting to keep up with these shows. I was wonder your take on the Sony side of stuff, with the spider-verse movies. Across the Spider-Verse has to be the best comic book thing to come out recently.
I do not normally watch three hour retrospectives, especially on movies and shows I actually watched. But since I was stuck inside because of the heat I decide to put it on initially as a background while I did some desk work and house cleaning. So here I am at the 2:48 minute mark and still at my desk. Quality work and your opinions are pretty much on the same page as mine and said in an entertaining and informative way. Thank you for this. I guess the cleaning can wait till tomorrow.
You should check out more retrospectives!! I find them so entertaining, whether I've seen the original series or not (and like you said, if anything they make for good background noise while doing other tasks)
Thank you for your time, energy, and the special way you remind me of the hype and experience of each MCU entry. As you said, it is a LOT and honestly too difficult to even remember how I felt after each movie or show. While I'm not tapping out completely from the MCU, I do have a very different outlook and expectation for every project. Good luck to you and all your future videos!

Ok I've seen Guardians 3 and just finished the retrospective and the fact that we wont get a part 6 makes me so sad because I am one of the marvel fans who will continue watching. I totally understand he's feelings because even I agree. I think Disney+ was the worst thing for marvel and having the pandemic RIGHT after endgame really made the MCU feel over. I skip some stuff and wind up watching something on youtube to give me the important bits going forward (I didn't finish She-Hulk because I did not enjoy it and I never saw the Guardians Holiday Special). Being a fan of the MCU nowadays is "budgeting" which stuff you watch asap and which stuff you don't mind waiting on (or even just skip and "spoil" online).
The conclusion you presented at the end of this video perfectly puts into words my exact same feelings regarding this franchise. I mean when my little brother wanted to start watching these films I showed him the first 22 (Iron Man to Endgame) and told him that was it for this story. Of course he was aware of the additional films and shows and I did not hold him back from experiencing those if he wanted to, but even he chose to let the story come to a satisfying close.
Thank you for this video. It is done very well and you verbalize many of the feelings I had watching all of these movies. You really nailed it I think on how they looked , the writing, the characters, everything. Great effing job. Keep it up
This series of videos from:There Was An Idea" -to - The Multiverse Saga" should be required watching for comics / MCU / DC even StarWars fans......because ALL these videos MUST have been a labour of LOVE - otherwise you couldn't have even THOUGHT about such a series.....nevermind you actually deciding to take it on and do justice to the WHOLE FRANCHISE'....and giving ALL the love and attention to the detail..... You deserve some kind of recognition for this - I'm trying not to exaggerate! ANYWAY TOP WORK, THANKYOU MY GUY!
I’ve worked for CFA for almost 30yrs and always enjoyed looking at this Countach in the breezeway when I went to Corp HQ. I would drool over this, the Dousenberg, the Batmobile and the Delorean. I had always dreamed of finding that Countach when it disappeared after Truetts passing and then coming onto VinWiki to tell the story. Glad it was found, its story continues and it’s back in the family.
That was AWESOME! Thank you! You put so much into this and I have changed my views on some of the shows I did not like but mostly have MCU fatigue too. But I will continue to see if they can pull their heads out.
I just binged this whole series and I love what you did it was awesome to look back at the good times and learn about behind the scene stuff I didn't know about. It's sad what the state of the MCU has become. I feel if they took a few years off and then came back with brand new characters and stories there might've been a chance of the MCU living on but now only thing to look forward to is Deadpool & Wolverine. I just hope that doesn't suck as much as some of the last films have.
I tapped out until guardians of the galaxy 3, Loki 2 and then Deadpool and wolverine and now I’m just hyped for the next avengers movies especially secret wars. The fact that they are pulling back on the amount of content they are pushing out focusing more on the quality of work is a good first step
Dammm I was not ready for the announcement of no part 6. I’ve binged all 12 hours of this over the past few days and loved it, hopefully he changes his mind and makes a part 6, even bashing marvel, very entertaining
.....huh? We don't even know for sure if there's going to be one, and besides, Marvel's been dropping dud after dud across Phase 4 and 5, with their wins few and far between. It took until this year to get a film everyone universally agreed was good, and that was DEADPOOL, the franchise that normally exists OUTSIDE the MCU. I don't think Prime is going to do another retrospective, period, unless Marvel gets back on its feet and starts consistently putting out good content.
@ agreed marvel needs to recalibrate, they are in the position DC was back in 2019 all those issues are now marvels issues…. Wouldn’t mind seeing a retrospective on the negative aspects
@@juniorlesegoragontse7710 I definitely agree, Marvel needs a refresh, and more importantly, one thing I've realized through these retrospectives is that Marvel worked putting out decent to great movies for ten years because there was a PLAN. There really isn't a plan now, and as a result all their releases without a strong foundation are tripping over each other. But I don't think I expect a retrospective on Marvel's Gas Leak Years, and I kinda don't want one. I don't want to see Prime bummed out, talking about stuff he didn't really like.

Yoooo I absolutely loved the first four videos you are super underrated
I had just watched the other 4 a few days ago, this is great
Been waiting for this, so excited to see your refreshing reviews!
Out of all the things I was expecting today, I wasn’t expecting this
You are the best. Ever. Thank You
Thank you for this video. It is done very well and you verbalize many of the feelings I had watching all of these movies. You really nailed it I think on how they looked , the writing, the characters, everything. Great effing job. Keep it up
great work, remembering the guardians galaxy bringme tears, this is a great historical piece
1:04:45 "stop cheering, let the scene play out" *ad plays* lmao
Side note: I know you didn't put the ads I just found it funny
This series of videos from:There Was An Idea" -to - The Multiverse Saga" should be required watching for comics / MCU / DC even StarWars fans......because ALL these videos MUST have been a labour of LOVE - otherwise you couldn't have even THOUGHT about such a series.....nevermind you actually deciding to take it on and do justice to the WHOLE FRANCHISE'....and giving ALL the love and attention to the detail.....
You deserve some kind of recognition for this - I'm trying not to exaggerate!
ANYWAY TOP WORK,
THANKYOU MY GUY!
I literally watched all other videos yesterday and couldn’t wait for the next one :D
“Sandman is returned to archival footage from Spiderman 3” had me dying 😂
Over 3hours?! I’m so excited. Love your MCU retrospectives!
I was just getting to rewatch the entire series you did before. Let's go!
the sheering man, brings back so much excitement
Oh dang, I’m late! So glad to see that this series is back!
Sick!!! I love your reteospects, keep it up and coming!
Glad you’re back brother! Amazing work!
ooo can't wait to watch and hear your thoughts!
I love these videos and glad the next one is ready!
Been waiting on this! Now I have something to watch 💆🏻♂️
I just hope that doesn't suck as much as some of the last films have.
fantastic video
Sooooooo happy to see your channels getting recognition my guy. Love your videos!
I’ve binged all 12 hours of this over the past few days and loved it, hopefully he changes his mind and makes a part 6, even bashing marvel, very entertaining
the next MCU retrospective video is about to go HARD
@@wavewingman5993 makes sense, the burn out too much
Very well done retrospective 😊
