Regarding the Orbs there is a blue Orb in the beta version of this game that was ultimately cut from the game. It's the Barrel Orb that would let you hide away in a barrel if a player challenges you to a duel and you don't want to duel that person. And since it's a blue Orb you would need to carry it around until you need it.

I dont think mario party 7 is better than 6 because of one reason and you listed it at the end. Also i dont agree that 3 has bad boards if that was what you were saying i will talk about that after this so like you said every previous mario party had a clear flaw except 3 maybe also because there are people who love 3’s boards. You cant find a clear flaw with 6 while you can find a clear flaw in 7 several in fact random duels, bowser time, character-specific orbs, single-player minigames. Since it can find flaws with 7 easily but cant for 6 thats why i do believe it os objectively the better game. Now for 3. I dont agree that the boards are bad excpet maybe deep bloober sea. Let me explain. Chilly waters-the ice breaks if two people are on it and there is a chance you slip on the ice when trying to escape. The chance to slip is a chance you are not guaranteed to slip on it every 2 turns for example. Also if people are trying to when they are not going to constantly get on the ice when someone is on it because it is also hurting them to. Spiny desert-there are only 2 happening spaces on each side of the sand pits except the top one which has 3 on the backwards path. You have a 50/50 chance to land on them and sometimes it is in your best interest to land on them. You can also use mushrooms. Woody woods-mushrooms to get past the signs. Creepy cavern-you have multiple ways to get each side of the board. Skeleton gates, happening spaces, and passing spaces. Also if the womp needs a item just get it because the shop is close by. Deep bloober sea-action time that you have no idea what each button does until the last one and too many happening spaces but you can use mushrooms. Waluigi island-you can time the middle even if its going decently fast so the only guaranteed rng is the trap by the boo but its a 50/50 plus the star will never get stuck there because of magic lamps. These are my thoughts.
