You’re right about the cpu difficulty in 4. When I did the story mode on bowsers gnarly party, everyone landed on the same space after the first turn, and 2 of the cpu players used warp pipes which made a dialogue box that says “nothing happened” come up
People held up Mario party 4 because it easily had the best minigames in the series. Now no one cares about it because most of those minigames were in superstars.
I think the reason people like Mario Party 4 at the time was because the series hadn’t yet hit franchise fatigue. That’s what Mario Party 4 is more popular than Mario Party 7 despite that game being much better! There’s that, AND Mario Party 4 was the first Mario Party on GameCube.
Damn everyone ragging on my fav Mario Party recently it’s very saddening. Like I know everyone has opinions but it seems like every recent video I find just only has negative things to say about it.
@@brunolike8631 I bet people liked Mario Party 4 is because this would be the last Hudson Soft based Mario Party where Donkey Kong is a playable character. Someone speculated that Donkey Kong is the canonical winner of Mario Party 4, much like how Wario is the Canonical Winner of Mario Party 1 (according to Mario Party 2), and Luigi is the Canonical Winner for Mario Party 3. Also I'm a sucker for Fruits of Doom. Also also, 1:21:29: That was a lie, he never said that. It was just Bowser and Koopa Kid being "CURSE YOU, I WILL NOT FORGET THIS! I WILL RETURN!!!"

I never even realized how all of MP4's main board gimmicks centered around blocking off parts of the board and hindering your movement
