    "Respect your elders" is such bullshit. Nobody automatically deserves respect just for taking a few extra trips around the sun. You want respect, you act respectably.

    I finally experienced an I don't work here moment, if only as a witness. I was in a large grocery store when a Karen ripped the headphones off a young female shopper and started berating her for "not listening" and "bad service." The young lady looked at the Karen holding her headphones, screamed "Who the f*ck do you think you're talking to?" and punched the Karen right in the nose! A wonderful shot, followed by a few more in various places.
    I stuck around long enough to defend the young lady as a victim of assault to the police, supported by the always present video, and expect to be called as a witness in Karen's upcoming trial for assault. Seventy years of waiting and I finally got to see a Karen get taken down. My life is now complete.
    It has always amazed me that none of the people who post such stories do not react to assault as this young lady did. She is now my hero.

    The Karen who attacked OP was clearly not just “having a bad day”. The fact that her kids pointed and laughed at OP is very worrisome, since she’s probably taught them to think her physically injuring people is funny. I suspect that this isn’t the first time she’s done something like this; she’s likely been warned and this attack was the last straw. I hope the therapy helps her with her rage issues.

I looked up at the ceiling and yelled, "Shut the hell up, right now!" The entire store went quiet. My drill instructor would have been proud of the volume.

    Story 3: The best way to rectify the situation? Press charges on Karen for trespassing & illegal entry into your home...throw in "Peeping Tom" charges as well just to fuck with her.
    Story 6: Again...always press charges! Letting these people get away with doing these things is why they keep doing them. Assault plus a secondary sexual assault will stop that shit.

    I think one of the worst parts about the headphone removing thing that Karens do is: what if someone with anxiety, a high stress issue, a social disorder, or something similar were using music, audiobooks, etc. to stay calm and regulate their emotions while shopping? These people could be sent into a panic attack, heart attack(high stress+possible heart problems), asthma attack(if they have asthma, I’ve heard sudden stress or fear can cause them sometimes), a melt down, etc. and probably still have to deal with an angry, delusional asshole who thinks they’re entitled to put their nasty hands on others.

      I always have my AirPods in when I go anywhere in public. Now of course I don’t go alone since I’m 12, so I do feel safer not paying much attention to my surroundings. I’ve been almost kidnapped twice which has really spiked my anxiety, I’m planning on getting a service dog soon to help prevent me from having anxiety attacks. I panic when people get close to me, especially from behind. The perk of AirPods is that Karens can’t rip them out of my ears since they wouldn’t even know

Usually it takes an hour or 2. Then if they bring it to court you have to attend. Court is very boring. The whole process can be very time consuming and stressful. We had a double cylinder lock in one of my childhood homes. It was the front door. It definitely helped us feel more secure. You can't easily bump them or break a window on the door to unlock it. I'd guess the one they had was one that automatically locked when the door closes.

    • @Cemi_Mhikku
      @Cemi_Mhikku 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Back in the day (around the transition from skeleton key/lever locks) latches were often linked in the same mechanism as a deadbolt, with some buttons on the face between the two that turn the 'auto bolt' function on and off. My grandparents house had that kind of lock on the front door, but was not double tumbler.

    • @Puerco-Potter
      @Puerco-Potter 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      They are pretty common in many countries. Here in Argentina having a door that can be unlocked without a key from the inside is reaaaaaally weird. I will say 99.9% of doors need a key to be unlocked from the inside. Why you ask? Well is a cheaper and simpler mechanism. Basically you have a keyhole going from one side to the other and a single mechanism in the center. If you have a door with more parts you won't be able to fix it, because the parts would have to be imported and no person would pay that unless they are rich, most of my friends would simply buy a new simpler one and install some other lock inside the door is they need extra security.

      I made my own comment before I saw yours. I thought it was common to have these type of deadbolts for exterior doors. Every house that I've been to has them, even mobile homes from the 80's and older have them. Weird that DarkFluff has never heard/seen them before.

      I didn’t know they were a thing. I’ll definitely talk to my mom about them since we have narrow windows on the sides of our front door which makes it easy for anyone to open it. Never understood why people put those there, it’s like they want their house broken into

      Not in any restaurant worth its weight. Now, there ARE strategies I have seen employed that don't harm anyone but make the lives miserable of Karens and Kens in the wild. Letting the food sit too long in the heated window, which makes all the sauces harden, the potatoes get a weird sheen, and the plate super extra hot. Ten minutes usually will do that. Still safe to eat as it is within the four hour safety window, of course. Making the steak one step more cooked than they ask for. Well done steak? Make it a hockey puck. Too much ice in the drinks. Waiting too long for refills. Taking ages with dessert. All valid ways to ruin the dinner and none of it harms ANYONE. No allergens being used, either. You make them quietly miserable and uncomfortable, whilst serving with a smile the entire time. Not only will they bitch to the manager, they have ruined their meals by being douche nozzles. Never, ever mess with the food directly. Just make sure the food is cold and unappetizing so they must wait for remakes. THAT is how you get petty revenge.

    Regarding the 2nd story: My phone # was one that I ported over to my cell phone about 18 years got. All ten digits are the same that a local Chinese restaurant would use in a slightly different order. For the past 25+ years, I would average at the very most, 5 wrong numbers per week looking for this particular restaurant, whether it's customers or warehouse delivery. I even had someone leave me a very long voice mail detailing what their order was to be. Usually I would tell people, "wrong number" or ask for a food review. Ever since they moved to another town a few years ago, the calls have dwindled down to about one every six months or so.

Some dipwad came over and knocked the vr headset off the kid's head. People in the comments, whom claimed to have a law degree (that I said they need to get a refund for) tried to say it wasn't assault. My wife and I had a similar situation to the OP at 4:00, but involving the county jail. We initially thought my wife's cell number was one digit off too, and we kept getting calls from inmates' GFs and wives. We contacted the county jail to find out they'd actually published MY WIFE'S CELL NUMBER AS THE MAIN NUMBER FOR THE JAIL. And of course, they claimed that they couldn't do a thing, and WE had to change her cell number - a number we'd had since the invention of cell phones. We contacted them three times, each time we got blown off, until I decided to "go nuclear" on them. We started telling those who called that due to a mistake in the jail system, their loved one was scheduled for EXECUTION later that morning, and "we're very sorry, but we can't do anything about it" - EXACTLY what we'd been told by the jail. Needless to say, within about 72 hours the calls stopped and the number on the jail's website was corrected. However, not once did anyone apologize to us for the "errors", but of course neither did we.

Mind you I’m 6’3” and broad shouldered to give you an idea that I’m fairly imposing. I have one grab me by the back of my shirt and tried backhand me when I told him I don’t work at any Grocery Store. When he swung that hand backward, I caught his arm mid swing and put him on the ground. I put my knee into his back. Little does he know at that point I do Security and have almost 2 decades of experience. I held him there. Told the Grocery Store Manager that I’d just been assaulted and instructed him to call the Police. He had warrants and apparently one of them was over a year old for failure to appear. Sure enough the name sounded familiar and it was someone who I’d detained for theft 18 months prior and that theft was what he failed to appear for. He pled on that charge and pled out on the assault charge. I no longer work for the company I worked for when I apprehended him on behalf of that company. I had just started my new job with a far better company that evening.
