For those of you interested enough in how you can figure it out, this is what I did. - Kalmar Union exists: must be between June of 1397 and June of 1523. - Theodoro has been annexed by the Ottoman Empire: must be after 1475 - The Habsburgs have inherited the Burgundian throne and have direct rule over the Netherlands: must be after 1482 - Bohemia and Hungary under the same crown: 1490-1526 - Navarra still under French dynasty and not yet integrated into the union of Spanish crowns: Before 1515, or maybe 1512 depending on who you ask and who drew the map - The Pskov Republic has not yet been integrated by Muscovy: must be pre-1510 This narrows it down to 1490-1510. What really pins it down, however, is the lucky alignment of two features on the map: 1. The Great Horde exists. The Great Horde was dissolved after the Crimean Khanate sacked and burned the city of Sarai in June of 1502. 2. The Duchy of Urbino is depicted as independent of the Papal States. Cesaro Borgia ascended to the position of Duke of Urbino in June of 1502, marking the beginning of 6 years of relative independence from the Papal States until 1508. The confluence of these map features, assuming the map is drawn accurately, fix the depiction of the map to be June 1502. The only thing that throws a wrench into the works is that Bologna appears to be under the control of the Papal States, which did not happen until the pope captured the city in November of 1506. However, the pope had laid claim to the city for almost a decade beforehand, so many nations may have recognized Bologna as the rightful territory of the Papal States at the time in order to curry the favor of the pope. It would make my day if anyone could find anything else in this map that confirms or disproves my date of June 1502.

4:43 The worst that I've experienced with managers at my old job was actually them cycling between different managers on different days (I worked as a bagger/mild custodial worker at a grocery store chain) - so it was pretty much a Russian roulette/gauntlet of which boss I get that's really chill or not-for-chill, and each of them told me how to do my job differently. 0_0
This was actually my niece's favourite film of the franchise. As such, I had to watch it every time I babysat her. Just in case anyone ever wonders why I, myself, went mad and turned to Joker-esque villainy.
5:07 anyone else notice that the lip syncing on Agnes clearly reads “that’s what Katie’s dads do” did they switch the line out so Gru wouldn’t come off as homophobic
Illumination may be a French studio, but you can tell their main influence is Looney Toons, hence their focus on cartoony slapstick and the side characters being broad stereotypes. Unfortunately, while in their first two movies the slapstick was balanced by a solid story, here they just jumbled together several different stories together and even though they might have been interesting on their own (Gru being tempted back to villainy, Lucy trying to be a mother to the girls, an 80s child star turned villain, etc), none of them were given any time to breathe as the main focus of the movie was the slapstick. Oh, and the Minions. Their antics were already wearing thin in the second film but here it was just completely played out, not helped by The Minions spinoff film that came out a couple years before DM3, and was quite possibly the worst film Illumination has made.
Balthazar Bratt is played by Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park and the voice of Stan and Cartman! He agreed to be in this movie because he wanted to create something his daughter could watch.
I love that so much, his daughter actually used to voice Ike back when she was still like 1 or 2 years old. I love Matt and Trey, both amazing guys all around.
did everyone just collectively forget that Alex has periodically mentioned living in Japan, first working as an English then a desk job in IT. My guy had a full unanimated video story time of the time he got scammed during the initial years of living in Japan...
I do like having some Minion stuff. As a kid I found them pretty funny, and I’ll admit I liked the Gru side of the story but my highlights were always the Minion scenes. I went to see Minions the day it came out and I had a blast.
Fun fact: Balthazar is voiced by Trey Parker one of the creators of Southpark and he sounds very similar to Randy Marsh one of the characters in Southpark
Maybe I'm weird or something, but I've always thought that the Minions movie is the only movie in the franchise that comes close to the original Despicable Me movie in terms enjoyment... although for obviously different reasons.
When you said Freedonia I understood Fredonia, which is actually a very real town in Colombia where my dad grew up and I spent part of my childhood lol :)
Alex: “Bob Iger is just sitting in his Scrooge Mcduck Vault crying his eyes out at this moment.” Meanwhile at Walt Disney Studios…….. Bob: “NO, what’s happening to my STOCK 😭. Kathleen Kennedy!”
That's the sort of comment you get when an allegedly grown man that watches kids show *[guitar riff]* tries to dunk in other allegedly grown men that watch kids shows.
This is why I like DreamWorks so much because they always make movie sequels and trinities and it wouldn't be bad not even average they would be good everytime they also don't miss out on character depth and development and overall depth of the movie while balancing out the hilarious sequences with it a great example of that field would be puss in boots where you would expect it not to be good but turned out to be even more epic than the Shrek itself
I really hate Dreamworks. There only good sequels are HTTYD 2 and 3, Shrek 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Last Wish. All of these he other ones are bad or mediocre at best.
"It kinda reminds me of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies where the first one is good, the second is less good, and the third is just...EEEEEEEEEH..." And the fourth movie in both these franchises? *SHUDDERS*
Having Balthazar Brat being voiced by Trey Parker is pretty fun to me, even if he's an annoying villain. Definitely channels some of that Randy Marsh energy at times.
The one reason that I liked this movie was the fact that Balthazar Bratt was voiced by Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park and you can definitely tell that he was giving his all in this zany character. That or the fact that he just wanted to do his Michael Jackson impression and get paid for it.

The map at 7:42 depicts Europe in June of 1502. And yes, I did spend an hour of my life figuring it out.
For those of you interested enough in how you can figure it out, this is what I did.
- Kalmar Union exists: must be between June of 1397 and June of 1523.
- Theodoro has been annexed by the Ottoman Empire: must be after 1475
- The Habsburgs have inherited the Burgundian throne and have direct rule over the Netherlands: must be after 1482
- Bohemia and Hungary under the same crown: 1490-1526
- Navarra still under French dynasty and not yet integrated into the union of Spanish crowns: Before 1515, or maybe 1512 depending on who you ask and who drew the map
- The Pskov Republic has not yet been integrated by Muscovy: must be pre-1510
This narrows it down to 1490-1510. What really pins it down, however, is the lucky alignment of two features on the map:

5:07 anyone else notice that the lip syncing on Agnes clearly reads “that’s what Katie’s dads do”
did they switch the line out so Gru wouldn’t come off as homophobic
Huh really?
@@isauldron4337 yea look at agnes mouth
Wait how'd it be homophobic?
@@YellowCounters9666 idk maybe people would interpret Gru saying that as him being uncomfy by Katie’s two dads?
The “ YEAAAAAAHHH “ is killing me 😭😭😭😭😭
Illumination may be a French studio, but you can tell their main influence is Looney Toons, hence their focus on cartoony slapstick and the side characters being broad stereotypes.
Why do you say the minion movie was bad
10:19 I like the way he drew Agnes's hair 💀💀💀
Nooo😭🦶
Balthazar Bratt is played by Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park and the voice of Stan and Cartman! He agreed to be in this movie because he wanted to create something his daughter could watch.
I love that so much, his daughter actually used to voice Ike back when she was still like 1 or 2 years old. I love Matt and Trey, both amazing guys all around.
@@Kafen8d yeah. Unfortunate that they don't do South Park as much anymore.
That's sweet honestly
9:30 that poster of Disney original movie descendants Mal Evie jay and Carlos rip Cameron Boyce 😢 the king we miss him good job with that poster Alex
I love descendants!!!

Bro has been sponsored by surf shark 5 billion times💀
The thing that i like the most about this movie is that the villains voice actor is Trey Parker
12:47 Nintendo ninjas want your location
Alex: 2:04
Me: “Uh-huh just wait till you see the spin offs (which is just two (for now) but it’s still a lot).”
"If I had a nickle for every dispicable me spin-off i'd have two nickles which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice" - Dr.Doof
Bratt needed more screen time 💜💜
did everyone just collectively forget that Alex has periodically mentioned living in Japan, first working as an English then a desk job in IT. My guy had a full unanimated video story time of the time he got scammed during the initial years of living in Japan...
"Europe and their non collapsing society" No fam, most of Europe is collapsing as we speak
I do like having some Minion stuff. As a kid I found them pretty funny, and I’ll admit I liked the Gru side of the story but my highlights were always the Minion scenes. I went to see Minions the day it came out and I had a blast.
Idk, was anyone else distracted by a) Balthazar was voiced by Trey Parker, and b) the design looked a bit like Randy going through an 80s phase?
"Non-collapsing society". Oh, bestie, let me tell you, we're just good at hiding stuff
welp, looks like u gotta watch minions now💀
Alex is making his way down his list of movies,I’m proud of him
Okay never noticed but why does this look like the town from Luca? 10:31
8:24 achtually, you got it wrong, our society IS collapsing
Fun fact: Balthazar is voiced by Trey Parker one of the creators of Southpark and he sounds very similar to Randy Marsh one of the characters in Southpark
Alex you know what must happen next
The minion movies
Yes
Maybe I'm weird or something, but I've always thought that the Minions movie is the only movie in the franchise that comes close to the original Despicable Me movie in terms enjoyment... although for obviously different reasons.
@@danvzare6201 I haven’t watched it in a while but I loved it as a kid
@@danvzare6201Minions movie id crazy fun like the emperors groove
Not much of plot but it's funny
I like that Alex is given one of his own cartoon characters the Gru nose. It even gets bigger and bigger every time he shows it.
When you said Freedonia I understood Fredonia, which is actually a very real town in Colombia where my dad grew up and I spent part of my childhood lol :)
@4:10 and it was this day that Gru had to register on a list and inform all of his neighbors that he was an offender...
😂
The hatred for the minions is so funny to me😂😂😂
DO MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE! It's such a great show
2:35 I wonder how your first year of teaching was like. Any horror stories?
Don’t worry canada is more than happy to let you guys in if your society collapses, just don’t go to alberta. 8:16
15:27 that’s actually really true and exactly what I was thinking. Most 3rd movies kinda be like that though. Like Shrek the 3rd
Alex: “Bob Iger is just sitting in his Scrooge Mcduck Vault crying his eyes out at this moment.”
Meanwhile at Walt Disney Studios……..
2:35 what is the pencil case?
"It kinda reminds me of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies where the first one is good, the second is less good, and the third is just...EEEEEEEEEH..."
And the fourth movie in both these franchises?
*SHUDDERS*
i did not expect to catch an upload 6 min after air
Trey Parker as Balthazar is the best villain in the despicable me franchise. He was born to play that role
7:32 LOLZ so true, Alex!
The same kid in line during the toys sale was in Bratt's 80's commercial. Must be immortal.
8:15
"Weird europeans with their free healthcare and their non collapsing society."
Oooh...whos gonna tell'em?
Having Balthazar Brat being voiced by Trey Parker is pretty fun to me, even if he's an annoying villain. Definitely channels some of that Randy Marsh energy at times.
1 thing we always learn from an alex myers video is that Slovakia has the most tv shows
I have been WAITING for this 😭
Same!!!!!!
Same!!!!!!
Same!!!
The one reason that I liked this movie was the fact that Balthazar Bratt was voiced by Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park and you can definitely tell that he was giving his all in this zany character. That or the fact that he just wanted to do his Michael Jackson impression and get paid for it.
IKR 😂😂
