Very, very helpful. Your wife had a very good point about the wifi jargon that most people know nothing about. Always a good idea to listen to her and the kids! Wiser than you think. Awesome. Thank you so much!
Excellent installation . From the unboxing to the start up. Great job on the wiring. We use an air lift to slide them in. Excellent choice on LGs. They have the best front loaders. You typically get at least 7-10 years out of the washer before you have to replace the drain pump. Great job

With the hard venting coming down so close to the exhaust of the dryer, you have to use a long length of soft venting to make the final connection if you have to do it before pushing the machine back. If the hard venting from the ceiling terminated above the dryer, you can install the soft venting to the dryer, push the machine back, then get a ladder and make the final connection to the hard venting overhead. This allows the soft venting to be straighter and not loop down.

Are you asking how high the dryer exhaust tube fixture is from the bottom. 74 3/8'' / 2 = about 37'" plus 4 inches = 41, +-. Or are you asking about the upper dryer ventilation grid area, which is 4" from the top, so 70 3/8" to top of ventilation.
Hi i have a question. My washer/dryer area is only 32.5 inches in depth. Do you think that is sufficient for this unit? It would leave about 2.125 inches of space behind for venting.
awesome video. My dropped the wifi connection after a month of no issues and now refuses to stay connected or even connect. it’s like it no longer likes my network for some reason. Did the reset and all the other basic things like unplug machines press hold start and nothing. wife not happy.
On WIFI issues, there are usually two possibilities - the appliance or your network. It is possible the appliance is going bad in which case call LG. If it is your home network, here are some things to try (which you may know, but others don't know). 1. Turn WIFI hotspot on your phone and connect washer to your phone. Is it stable? If so, indicates problem with your home network. 2. Install a WIFI scan app on your phone. Look for your WIFI SSID and look at the strength. Is the signal strength stable (not dropping to 0)? 3. Use the same app and determine if another WIFI router is overlapping your channels. For example, a new neighbor moves in and their router uses same channels as your router. This can cause drops / retries / performance issues. Move your WIFI SSIDs to a new channel. 4. I guess no other devices are in your home are having problems as you didn't mention it. Its always okay to reboot your router. 5. Finally, try connecting the WIFI from the dryer vs washer, or vice versa. Hope it helps. We have installed an LG pair in our home and in another home. No issues with WIFI.
We remodeled an area for the unit. We ran a hole up the wall across the ceiling and into the garage, about 7 feet total. We added a right turn in the garage ceiling to go out an exterior wall 2 feet away. It wasn't too big of a project and we didn't hit any unknown pipes or wires.
@@DrBDIY you might want to consider a vent boost fan. I had a long ventilation run and the boost fan took about 15 min off of my drying times after I got it hooked up
Confirmed with LG technical support and by own tests, that the washing machine has a built-in heating system. That is, if you do not have hot water inlet, this system can replace it, so there is no need for hot water supply. Verified in several tests, in addition all washing machines since 2016 include a water heating System.
Question: When you use the STEAM DRYER feature, do you actually see any steam inside the dryer (steam comes from that chrome piece inside the back area) of the dryer? (ours is an electric dryer version, but I believe the gas version also has steam too with that chrome piece where steam comes out)? Anyway, we have the same unit, but when we run the Steam Dryer, we don't see ANY steam inside the dryer, but clearly can hear it making steam and running, just can't see any steam inside or see anything coming out of that hole on that chrome piece where steam comes out). I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Please help. My old stackable had a single 3 prong plug to run everything, washer and dryer. This LG stackable has two plugs, a 3 prong 240V and a standard 120V. Do both need to be plugged in or does the entire unit run off the 240V? Why is there an extra 120V plug?
You can use a 220V three or four prong plug for the dryer. Buy the one that matches your wall outlet. The instructions show you how to wire both. You also use a standard 120v for the washer. If I recall, that wire is included. So two wall outlets are needed.
Does this unit use less water than normal? I’ve been washing with it for the last couple of days and I’m not used to seeing such a low water level from a washer
Hi, thank you so much for sharing and a detailed video now that you've had it for quite a while. Do you still recommend it has there been any reliability issues? Thanks.
At around 10 minutes in you mention SIDE venting is an option... Are you absolutely positive about that? Best Buy shopping cart says NO side venting. Maybe the chassis was designed before the entire unit was completed so those circles were an early option before unit completion?
Installing the Dryer Side Vent Kit The appliance is configured to vent to the rear. It can also vent to the side. WARNING • Use long-sleeved gloves and safety glasses. • Use a heavy metal vent. • Do not use plastic or thin foil ducts. • Clean old ducts before installing the appliance. NOTE • An adapter kit, part number 383EEL9001B, may be purchased from your LG retailer. This kit contains duct components necessary to change the appliance vent location. • Right-side venting is not available on gas models. • Bottom venting is not available on stacked or integrated stacked models.
i watched the your video and disappointed that you didn't show how the unit was actually pushed into the narrow space with out kinking the dryer vent hose. How do you prevent a problem with this or even know if you have a problem after its pushed into place? Thanks
Thank you for this video can you link were you got all the accessories for the set up please, like the vent and the cord. pretty much all the accessories.
www.homedepot.com/s/furniture%20sliders?NCNI-5 You the plastic side sliders for carpets. Use the soft side sliders for hard floors. Both have a foam piece on one side that faces up towards the device you are sliding. I don't leave the sliders under the unit when the washer/dryer are in use. The washer/dryer may rock out of place when spinning high! I prefer to remove them and spray a blue window cleaner to get it out of its usage place. Then I would put the sliders on if I was moving it far.
Thank you for this very informative video,, quick question,, have you tried controlling the dryer away from home,, let say you forgot to turn it off and turn it off using the app?
Anyone have the issue where the chime stops working on the washer but still works on the dryer (when you press buttons)? This happened to mine today. I may have accidentally muted it? But idk how or why or how to correct it. Had this unit almost 2 years.

I just bought this unit and so far, so good. I also own the full-size LG set that I've had for 6 years. My question is how do you turn on the drum light in the washer while running? For the life of me, I can't figure it out. My larger LG washer allows me to turn the drum light on while washing, but perhaps this unit doesn't have this feature? Thanks
Drum Light The drum is equipped with a white LED light that illuminates when the washer is turned on. This light automatically turns off when the door is closed, and the cycle starts. Press and hold the Pre-wash button for 3 seconds during the cycle to turn on the drum light. The drum light will turn off automatically after 4 minutes.
Is the units true depth 30” from front of door to back plumbing? If I want to enclose unit in a cabinet, how deep would cabinet need to be to allow plumbing/ducting/receptacle plug?
From the font to back plus room for the ducting, 36 inches (see description above). You may also think about space needed to open doors and to what angle do you want to open them? I am not sure if the front will be open or you will enclose the unit.
@@DrBDIY We bought the same model and will be delivered on Monday. My condo only has combo washer dryer 4 prong plug. So just to make sure, this model only has single connection for both washer and dryer if using the 4 prong plug? I don’t need the 120v plug for the washer? Thank you!
@ so nothing is connected to your 120v outlet? I’m chatting with home depot and they are saying it requires 240V plug for dryer (electric) and 120V for washer. Was there a certain connection on the 240v plug to get power access for the 120v washer so it only requires the single 4 prong plug to power both?
Hello I have a doubt with vent hose, I have the same space as you and Im afraid that when I slide back the unit, the hose maybe obstructed. It could be any problem with that?
Easy for me to address that concern. On all of my refrigerator, washer, dryer and freezer installs, I attach my phone to a selfie stick. Then I take a video of the back, sides, etc. It is easy to see what is going on. Our install of the tower went well, no kinks in the hoses, nothing falling off. Safety first.
Curious your thoughts after 2 years of use. With large loads what is the fastest full wash cycle with low soil loads, 30 ,45 minutes? With the same large loads what is the average drying time? For drying 40, 60, 80 minutes on large loads? Reliability? Overall are you happy with your purchase? We are using for a more commercial space so large loads of towels and want to figure out dry times.
We really haven't paid attention to timing. Maybe I should. There is a 15 min quick wash which can be adjusted by altering the dirty level. I use the 60 minute times dry on low heat and it usually dries everything just fine, I don't use that for towels, I just do the heat dry. We may use the unit seven times per week (lots of laundry). So far very reliable and no maintenance issues.
It is recommended to replace the hot and cold water inlet hoses, plus a dryer exhaust tube to connect to your hot air output. Some versions of this unit have steam for the dryer, which means you need another water inlet for the dryer.
I meant to leave a statement on your video for "Changing a Bearing out" but forgot. My statement is, where do you get the patience to do what you just did? One time would have me beating the washer with a bat, but 4 times???? WOW! Impressed
That is not good. Two ideas come to mind. Did you remove the temporary caps on the feet? Also, did you level the washer according to the instructions? Failure to do both may cause noise.
i noticed the cold water outlet connection to the washer is slightly loose. zoom in you notice water droplet dripping. check it your back is rusting of may cause short circuit the electric.

@@DrBDIY thx for the quick detailed response. Thinking hard on this unit. Looks great. Working with about 33 inches for depth in a side closet. Hoping to still be able to close the door after installing
@Jason Burkholder it would have forced me to remove the door. I ended up with the 3.8 cu ge spacemaker which was just slightly smaller and that ended up fitting perfectly with the door still on. Hope that helps and good luck!
Once remote start is enabled, it can only be turned on / off from the app. The manual says "Start a cycle .... " If you open the door, the remote start is canceled. If the power is turned off and then on, remote start is reset.
How long are the the dryer vent hose is and the power source cords are? As you custom built the area for yours, mine space is the traditional space Thank you.
It is a nice unit and saves space. I have another LG unit that is side by side and larger (WM4200HWA.ABWEEUS, DLEX4200W.ABWEEUS). Both operate somewhat similar.
I just received mine yesterday and it was really noisy when it was spinning and shaking the whole machine. This is normal? This is my first LG before I have Samsung and I never had that issue.
Shaking is not normal unless you have one large item of clothing and it is weighted to one side ... Did you level the unit in both front to back and side to side directions using the leveling wrench? Page 24 of instructions. Is the floor level? If not, the feet need to be leveled differently. Also, if the floor is slippery, you are supposed add the non-skid pads. There are other reasons it could shake, such as the washer weights are loose, but that is unlikely.
Make sure the delivery guys remove all that white foam from up on at the bottom of the washer mine was making noise 2 delivery guys have left foam up under the bottom of the washer

Not a stupid question. I had a stand alone LG electric washer WM4200H_A 201.5 lbs. and dryer 125.3 lbs. The tower unit WKE100H*A / WKG101H*A weighs 310.6 lbs.
The water hoses, electric cord and dryer tube might be separate. I am not sure if they have a bundle sale or not. Our parts were separate. Some people may already have electric cords and dryer tubes from previous appliances. I read that it is recommended to always use new water hoses.
Just purchased this unit model WKEX200HBA with steam. I hear people saying they have issues with this machine. Are you having any issues? There was someone saying there’s a puddle of water left in the washer once the load is complete. Other are saying the machine is noisy. And others say they do not last long. What are the pros and cons of this machine to you?
Received the unit in May 2021. The wash is smart in the sense if you pack it with laundry and do a quick wash, it measures the weight and adjusts the time. Otherwise, if you pack the washer and try to wash in 10 minutes, the clothes are not really cleaning. Others might have problems, not sure. The manual online explains the wash / dry cycles in detail.

I didn't know they made a gas version until you mentioned it and I looked it up. The workaround would be to run a gas line and vent - not an easy DIY job. I would ask the builder to replace the unit with an electric version. Most builders would do that.

Hi, what did you put underneath to make it slide so easily? I have the same problem with a narrow space.
Search for furniture glides / slides. The plastic bottoms are for carpet floors. The felt bottoms are for hardwood floors . I prefer plastic for both floor types. Safety first.
Nice setup! But you hv to hold and fill the detergent if you don’t want to use measuring cup.
Thanks for the tip!
what is the height of the dryer vent from the machine? I ordered mine online and I havent recived it yet. I gotta know before it comes.
You need at least four inches on the back for vent tube clearance.
Can I use both washer and dryer without WiFi (we don’t have WiFi at the location where we are doing the installation) ?
You can use it without wifi. Wifi is for app control and notifications, local and remote. I have not seen devices updated over wifi.
awesome video.
I hope they eventually make a ventless version of this. I just ordered one but will probably need to Macgyver the vent out about 6 or 7 ft

Confirmed with LG technical support and by own tests, that the washing machine has a built-in heating system. That is, if you do not have hot water inlet, this system can replace it, so there is no need for hot water supply. Verified in several tests, in addition all washing machines since 2016 include a water heating System.
Wow. I did not know that existed in the LG washers. Thanks for the tip.
Hmm so that’s why some washers have the Extra hot water feature
Question: When you use the STEAM DRYER feature, do you actually see any steam inside the dryer (steam comes from that chrome piece inside the back area) of the dryer? (ours is an electric dryer version, but I believe the gas version also has steam too with that chrome piece where steam comes out)? Anyway, we have the same unit, but when we run the Steam Dryer, we don't see ANY steam inside the dryer, but clearly can hear it making steam and running, just can't see any steam inside or see anything coming out of that hole on that chrome piece where steam comes out).
Some LG units (this one) have a smart sensor that calculates the appropriate amount of water. It appears to work very well for us.
I bought the gas dryer one. Does it use a regular Type B power plug? If so, do I need to do change the wire power cords?
I am not sure. What is the model number? Home Depot has the manuals online.

You the plastic side sliders for carpets.

Also, did you remove the installation bolts used for shipping?

Electric unit (to center of vent:) 41.5" High (from floor) 14.0" From Left side (facing front)
There is more detail on the Home Depot site :

Amazing video thank you gentlemen
Glad you enjoyed it
Our new house doesn’t have a Gas line, unfortunately it looks like the builder bought a Gas wash tower. Is there a work around this? Or I will have to get an electric dryer 🤦🏾♂️
I didn't know they made a gas version until you mentioned it and I looked it up. The workaround would be to run a gas line and vent - not an easy DIY job. I would ask the builder to replace the unit with an electric version. Most builders would do that.
@@DrBDIY True, thanks!
Thanks for the video! Where did you get that plastic skid to slide the LG washer around?
They sell them many places. Search homedepot.com for furniture sliders. Plastic bottom for carpets, fuzzy bottom for hard floors. However, I found that plastic sliders work on tile also.
@@DrBDIY Thanks for the reply! We're looking into the unit but would have to fit it through a 27.5" wide laundry room door frame (our other doors are wider). Do you think we would be able to with the slider trick or is that too narrow based on your experience?
@@tuck28 Unsure. The dimensions are: (Width X Height X Depth) 27'' X 74 3/8'' X 30 3/8'' (70 cm X 189 cm X 77 cm). This means you have 1/2" of play. The skids need to not overlap 27" either, which is doable. If you are going straight in with no turns in the door, it may work.
I have a closet depth of 32.75 inches. Will this fit?
The specs show:
Dimensions (Width X Height X Depth) 27'' X 74 3/8'' X 30 3/8''-depth (70 cm X 189 cm X 77 cm)
Maximum Depth with Door Open 55'' (139.6 cm)
So in the video at about 5 minutes where the thumb is on the tape measure, that is about 30". Which allows room for the dryer vent also. Out opening was about 36" deep. We had plenty of room left over. Also, consider where your plug is coming out of the wall as that may need two inches if directly behind the unit.
Thanks you. I’m more concerned about the dryer vent behind the unit. If 2 inches is enough then in good. I was worried that I needed more than 2
