    • @DesignerAppliances

      Having the washer on the bottom is more about safety due to the weight (water plus clothes) and shaking from the wash cycles. The unit would most likely tip over if it was on the top. All stackable laundry has the washer on the bottom. Hope that helps!

    Thank you for your presentation. It was very informative. I am redoing my Florida kitchen and will be incorporating the washing and dryer in the kitchen. I was planning to put the tower in a cabinet but was wondering that since it is a good looking machine if you think there would be any reason why it can't be in the open on the side of the kitchen and thus incorporated into the kitchen. I was also concerned about noise level if not behind a cabinet. Can you address these two concerns?

      I own one,and i can tell you: the thing is whisper quiet even in the spin cycles.

    We don’t have WiFi where the wash tower will be installed. Can I still use my iPhone to download an additional cycle?

    • @DesignerAppliances
      @DesignerAppliances  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't have Wi-Fi in the location where the WashTower is installed, you likely won't be able to use your iPhone to download additional cycles directly. However, one possible solution could be to download the cycle you want when your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi in a different location. Then, later, bring your iPhone closer to the WashTower to transfer the downloaded cycle. The exact feasibility of this solution would depend on the specific model of WashTower and how it handles communication with the LG ThinQ app.

    What differences are there with electric and gas driers.

    • @DesignerAppliances
      @DesignerAppliances  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question. Typically your laundry room will already have either an electric or gas connection so you would just buy the one that matches your utilities. Performance wise they are basically the same but the gas version cost a little bit more upfront, but is more efficient and costs less to operate over a long period of time you should make up the cost. If you are building a laundry room from scratch and you have gas available, go with gas, but it’s definitely not worth it to run a gas line if you already have electric.

    Hello From Show Low Arizona! We currently have a Bosch Series 800 washer and dryer in our upstairs laundry room. I used them once and new immediately I needed to replace them. Having said that I have been shopping around and then saw the commercial on the LG Wash Tower. I have a couple of questions hopefully you can help me with. 1. The area were they would be installed is 29-1/2" wide with the vent, water faucets and electrical connections being to the left of the units and they are recessed into the wall. Would this space be adequate enough to house them? Height would not be a problem. 2. I'm sure as with most dryers the vent connection is in the back of the machine. What type of hose connection could I use to bring it around to the left of the machine? Thank you so very much for your assistance. We have a Lowes and Home Depot but these were not questions they could help me with. Louise Luna

We want to put in an enclosure i.e. a cabinet, we need to know how deep the cabinet needs to be for this model? Nowhere in the specs… For any model/brand…is there a reference to how much space is needed at the rear of the unit for plumbing and ducting. We are aware the units are 30” deep to start with.

      I was just at Home Depot and looking for the same information. I could barely see behind the unit but also took photos with my phone. I don't have exact measurements but I can tell you that the back looks very similar to all the other LG washers and dryers. The biggest issue is probably the gas venting duct. I bought a narrow telescoping duct for my installation. I would guess 4"-6" from the wall based on what I observed. HTH.

    I am considering buying two units side by side. Can they be installed right next to each other? They would be gas. Also, I need the right hinged and they only come left hinged. So you know if the doors open all the way so I can access them from the left without having to reach around the door?

    I am so-o-o conflicted. The WashTower is a great innovation, and LG is just doggone such a high scorer in all of the reviews and testing. In my analysis, WT is of course better because of the lower height, center controls, less depth, side vent, quicker set-up, $280 less for same features... But locally our most valued repairman doesn't do LG at all. Total shut-out. Best friends have had nothing but trouble with their LG washer and LG stove. They went back to a 10yr Kenmore and said it's a great improvement. Another serviceman from 45 minutes away says the products are good, but LG's support of repair techs is terrible, especially for warranty issues. So I'm feeling like the WashTower is so much better, but I think we're going to end up with a known, boring Electrolux and keeping a step stool beside it. And it will take me 2 hrs to reverse the door.
    Why does LG monopolize the top ranks of washer reviews, when they seem to have a poor reputation in several key areas?
    For the next 10 years, I'll be dreaming about what might have been.

      @@johnksteinbeck3831 most problems with these devices can occur due to a bad installation or not using them the way they were intended to.
      Make sure the installation is done correctly, that the washer is well balanced and the dryer vent is the correct type of duct.
      Be sure to give the manual a good read and to know all you need to know about your appliance in case it gives you any trouble.

      The main reason people complain about the wicked vibration while in use is that the installer did not remove the four bolts on the back of the unit used for shipping purposes only and did not install the four plastic inserts where the bolts were as instructed to do in the installation manual.

    Not happy with this stack. The dryer works just fine. The first time we used the washer we discovered that the washer has some serious issues. In “spin” it’s so loud my wife and I can’t hear each other speak. And the vibration causes the entire 600 lb stack to walk across the floor. The load was one bed sheet laid flat in the drum as a test. The stack is level. There’s anti-skid pads on the floor. Still walks. I placed anti-vibration pads under the feet and it still walks. Brand new machine and it requires a service call before we actually used it to wash a full load. Not impressed with the quality.
