If you need one as a tool, there are plenty of price points to make it a justifiable expense. As a toy? Elevate your income or save and buy one if it makes you happy.

I did my research and although I liked the Ranger I still preferred the Can-Am. Being in Canada the AC just was not important to me. I've only had my HD10 for 6 weeks now but sure am happy with it. Polaris specs will always be the best that's what gets people me included. I bought the 850xp and wish I had listened to the nay sayers. My Polaris stayed in the shed broke down more than it got ridden. Just like me everyone will have to learn for themselves
I have the 2018 version. Fully loaded and I love it. Even got the tracks. It’s my first UTV and I’m extremely happy. The 1000 is a beast. My good buddy went out and bought one too.
Kap, you're right. I went to Polaris dealer to get battery for my Sportsman 570 and dealers were selling one of these Ranger 1000 on the spot to a customer. There were about 6 to 7 Rangers of different colors, etc and they're really tempting. Selling them fast. Great comparison data you offered. Later.
I was leaning towards the Can-AM but after watching your videos I purchased a 19 Ranger Northstar with Ride Command, love the AC in the GA Heat already!!!

Mine overheated once in some heavy, wet, riding, I probably drove it a little hard, I've heard of them doing this from time to time, I sure hope its just a break in glitch! :) But this is one badass machine! :) (I've read on some forums about 'water wetter' and a new radiator cap... )
They are all good as long as you don't abuse them and take care of them, I choose a Honda, I like it, sometimes wish I went with the Yamaha Viking, was always a Yamaha guy. Never had any trouble with a Yamaha, guess I'll see with the Honda. I only use it for working around the farm, putting up deer stands, getting firewood, a little bit of trail riding.
Great video, Kap. Like that AC. You might want to check Consumer Affairs .com on Polaris. Lots of warranty issues or lack of Polaris's dealer network not honoring the warranty. Enjoy the new machine...wish I had AC.
Thanks man. I do believe that a lot of these issues are local dealer issues that could be resolved with better customer service...? So we'll see how it goes but I bought the extended warranty, so now its 6 years total. Thanks. And yeah, that AC is going to rock when its 100 degrees out! :)
It seems there is a stop ride almost constantly with one polaris or another. Two months ago I was shopping for a new utv and spoke with several dealers that sell polaris and can am. Every one of them said a couple of years ago that they sold more rangers than defenders...now they sell 2:1 defenders to rangers. I sat in the polaris, and my knees were in the dash. The defender was much more comfortable...I ordered a 23 defender max limited.
As I agree with you, the ranger is the best set up. Polaris has lots of cool things going on. But their build quality sucks, dependability is a big problem for a lot of Polaris owners. As I'm seeking with my 18 rzr xpt4, its much more problematic then my buddies can am x3's. In my experiences, both can am and honda will be more reliable, especially the Honda, on average. I think most of Polaris's problems are from the cheap Chinese parts they use.

so let me get this straight...Polaris compared their top of the line Ranger against the middle of the road Honda? I also noticed, that the Honda is the 5 seater, vs a 3 seat Polaris. To each their own, but...when your belt breaks. Maybe a Honda will pull you home. That is what I do for all of the Polaris and Can-Am owners.
No, they compared the same level machines. Keep in mind those are a year or two old comp vids but the highlights are what I was demonstrating. Yes, the belt can break at some point, but I've had so many belt machines over the years and never had one break yet and one of my machines I BOUGHT with 5,000 miles on it! Honda is a good machine, but built differently.
Looking forward to the full line of videos. I have a buddy that has the Honda, count your self lucky! You would have thrown a lot of money away. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers that have commented, you and I both know you made the right choice.
Don’t forget you love changing belts. I would much rather have a dif lock and not an awd machine. Never been in a ranger that rides smooth either. Best of luck no matter!
I looked at Polaris 1000, and the can am defender at a dealership that sells both. The salesman indicated to me that Polaris utv’s developer fear more issues, maintenance wise, than Can ams.
Which one is the more dependable? Personally, I wouldn't care if the Polaris was a 1/2 second faster or, I had to take a few seconds to change gears or whatever. I want ruggedness and reliability and I've seen on youtube and elsewhere that the Polaris leaves something to be desired in that area.
Kapper stated in these comments that he used turf mode 90% of the time, but in the video the rag on how it takes an extra couple of seconds to shift between 2WD, 4WD, 4WD lock, etc.
My only real concern, going in on my first SXS purchase, is the longevity and reliability of the transmission and steering rack of whatever I go with. I’ve had a Honda shaft drive atv, a chain driven Honda 3 wheeler, and have a chain driven Honda motorcycle, but have only ever owned a belt driven John Deer lawn tractor. I’m sure that’s WAY different than a belt driven CVT on a Polaris SXS; more like a belt driven Harley or a snowmobile. What I’m looking at, they’re all pretty much dollar for dollar, so it’s just a matter of preference. I just don’t want to be seeing the dealership any more than I absolutely have to for little warranty things; should they arise. (The Honda lineup came about from the luck I had with the first. The old crusty 125M I had as a child. Then the 250 Recon. Then the 750 Shadow. All simple, basic machines, but I’ve not known a breakdown.) I’d like to branch out and take a chance and experience another brand, but it’s kinda hard when all you know is one brand in small engine stuff. Any helpful suggestions and comments welcomed. Thanks! Well, there are soooo many belt driven machines that have been on the market for eons (ok you get the idea) that I think your risk is minimal overall. While I agree Honda is a great machine, the comfort just does not compare to a Polaris. The smoother ride is incredible, and as I have gotten older I do appreciate that quite a bit! It was your choice,...and now I see why you picked the one you did. Like I said , I like the CanAm line, but for different reasons. I guess this is why there are choice that we can make. I am not in the market right now, but it's always good to hear other guy's reasons too.
Personally I won’t own a Can-Am again. My 2016 Outlander DPS Max 650 has been nothing but problems and I use it on the farm and deer lease. I have about 500 miles only and am about to do my 4th brake job. The brakes suck. Plus the DPS had to be fixed, the rear differential had issues and the digital display went out.
The 4WD systems in the Polaris and Can-Am are not the same as you mentioned. The Ranger does not have a locking front or rear differential, while the Defender does. Additionally, the Defender locks in either 2WD or 4WD. A locking rear differential is a huge element to a lot of folks.
Not only does my 2017 Ranger XP1000 have a locking rear end, it also has what they call "lawn mower" mode, where you can unlock the rear end and not tear up grass or gravel when making tight turns. My hunting partners have a Kawasaki TerX and a Yamaha Rhino. Whenever we decide to go over gnarly trails with just one machine, they both head to my Ranger..
I have heard that Polaris are good machines just expensive to work on. They seem to me to require lots of repairs. Though, if a machine has been dogged out by it’s owner, it is going to require a great deal of money, time and effort to keep it running.
@@middlehot Polaris gives you a GPS so you can tell them where to come to pull you out of the woods, a radio to have something to do while waiting for them and a camera so you can see them pull up behind you. :)
Can’t believe this review, can am blows the Polaris out of the water, as an owner of both, I can tell you that can am is the better machine, comfort, quiet, power, storage, bed size, and overall looks, by the way, in your comparison video, which was made by Polaris, they actually use the hd5, not even close to accurate
I'm about to trade in my 2019 Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 Northstar for the 2020 Can-Am Max Defender LTD with AC and heat. Hope it doesn't break down every time I take it for a ride like this POS Polaris.
Yeah a comparison video made by polaris using an hd5 haha. This dude was duped. First service in the defender isn't due till 200 hrs or 2000 miles. That polaris will have been in the shop 10 times before 100 hrs. Reverse chains and the rest of the stuff that likes to break. Would love to see a third party comparison using the defender xmr vs the ranger. Lol
I have the pioneer 1000 and trail ride with a general 1000 and a ranger 1000 I burn half the fuel they do while doing the same thing the standard trans makes a huge fuel saving over the belts less rpm's and I've seen people with 40,000 miles on there pioneers trouble free which is crazy
Honda’s will out last the others however they preform so poorly against the ranger and the defender. So much slower, less torque and is easily out worked.. they are the best vehicle for grandpa to own

Kap, purchased the same unit a month back, checkout the tune from rvs performance. Loaded right on a unit called the dynojet and you can flash back to stock in 1 min. Its unbelievable in performance mode. Turns the unit into a beast and really wakes the machine up!
I think I'll leave it stock for awhile and then maybe consider a mod flash. I can't imagine it with more power and speed!!!! Must REALLY be a beast!!! :) thanks.
Great machine man I’m looking to get me one the pearl white one with out Ac can’t afford the one you got but for me the kind of riding I do trail and round the subdivision and round the hunting club throw a stand in the back this what I need razors are nice and have great suspension but we just casual trail ride this machine works for me
Hey Kap can you do a video about your CRP experience and go over all the ins and outs of it? I can't seem to find too much information about it on youtube. If you know of a good couple videos except for the generic USDA video they probably make everyone watch that is interested in the CRP program.
How do you think the transmission/clutch with belt will holdup. My biggest fault with all the others is they use those belts. Honda is about the only one that doesn't. Like others have commented about the durability of a Honda, we have a 96 3000 Fourtrax that is ridden almost daily.
I hear you, but I have to say that so many guys that have Polaris machines get 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 miles on the Polaris machines before they need a belt change. I guess it depends on how much mudding and hard riding you will be doing. But great that we have choices! Thanks

It was super obvious on the can am centerblock test the shocks were tuned all the way down. The can am defender xmr will eat that ranger alive in any environment
Not so sure about that, but to each their own. I've owned several Polaris machines, all of the work crews out here mostly own them, Most of the real estate guys I know own them, they are tough machines and take a beating.

There is a price difference between the 3 models about 3-4,000$ with the extra features but as you said only 2 have a/c. Which in Alabama it's a needed option. Only thing I don't like on the Polaris is the shift points while loaded. It may change when you use work button idk. Let us know what you think. Kapper..👍
well there isn't really shift points so to speak because it's a continuous drive belt. However with the three electronic control systems that is what it's designed to do for varying tasks. I'll keep you posted

We've been doing well, everything is good in our little holler lol. I like certain features on both of them. We have the five seater pioneer for when we all go out riding. Ranger is definitely easier to get in and out of for farm work.

Yeah, the only problem is that....you'll see tons of Polaris in the shop, unfortunately! I love the look of Polaris the best :( Honda's shaft drive vs. CVT is the biggest deal...and perhaps the steering that doesn't fall apart in the Honda vs. Polaris' notorious steering box .
Well when you have 80% market share for machines, it stands only to reason that it will seem like more of them are in the shop! A lot of the Rangers are running out to 7,000 8,000 miles and more on the original belt. Just sayin, thanks man.

I’ve owned a ranger and a pioneer 1000. The only thing you got superior with your Polaris is the yuppy gps stuff, ac and cab. The real stuff that makes a machine the Honda is not even a comparison. First off the test the 5 seater Honda, to a 3 seater Polaris is a drag race which is hilarious. The show a fake dyno video. The technology Honda has does not allow you to dyno in 2wd and an awd dyno compared to a 2wd Polaris would be an unfair test. And with the “soft ride” they claim you INSTANTLY lose the ground clearance. In a straight flat field or road the Polaris would be great. Other then that not a chance you will be happy with your Polaris in a year, make sure you do a year review and screen shot this comment lol Now that I’m done defending the Honda because it’s definitely a superior machine in the real world not a show room, you will absolutely LOVE the cab, love the heat and love the A/C. The lack of support from Polaris and issues made me trade mine in for my Honda and I’ll never go back.
Great video, thanks! I'm in the market for one now. Looked at the Pioneer today and wasn't overly impressed for the amount of money and also heard some horror stories on the 6 speed shifting. Can AM is OK too, but as your video points out there's a ton of difference. Just curious if you looked at the Kawasaki Mules at all and what your thoughts are on them. Right now I'm torn between the Ranger and a Mule. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
About to get me a 570 full size ranger. It’ll go just as well just not as fast lol I like that the cab and attachments fit all the rangers, I bet that 1000 rips! That little 570 is no slouch either though, has more power than the 700 Honda and is faster
Very nice machine! you got the ones with the most bells and whistles, everything is working like it should now but how about 10 years down the road? the honda will still be going strong when the polaris is parked in the weeds.
@@kapperoutdoors I have been looking at the New Honda's I wouldn't buy one myself. I have always had Honda ATV's and had very good service first one I had was a 92 model it's still running. But you made the right decision getting the Polaris it appears to be the best I have seen. The winch cable they make a rubber bumper that goes on them so the hook don't get pulled into the winch, have one on mine it works really good.
They are a good machine no doubt. Did they get A/C yet? Seriously that was a big thing, for that kind of coin you might as well get it! We love the A/C! Thaks.
Polaris is a good machine till it starts falling apart and that will come very soon. 4900 trouble free miles on an Honda pioneer. I have owned 2 Polaris sxs and neither made it to 500 miles without going back to the dealer.
Can am has some new updates that make them better. I sold my ranger to buy a 2020 can am that has more power, smoother clutching, better suspension and a quieter motor. Plus it has 6 wheels

Yours was the first video that has me reconsidering and going back into the process with less of a bias. No intention of trash talk. They have been making them longer than most after all...
We still have the electric Intimidator but I sold the gas unit. I bought the Kubota (thought they were supposed to be this amazing machine...... not...) and so I had to sell the Intimidator, couldn't afford to keep them both... You know what they say about hindsight..... but this machine rocks!

Face it, its all about air conditioning! Why didn't you look at the Polaris General ride command? Love my General but i hate to admit but I think the Honda is the most reliable of the three manufacturers!
You are right and I admit that AC was a big deal! However.... Look at all the specs!!! Polaris is an animal! Now, if it breaks down alot I can't predict that, but they sure aren't some fly by night company! No doubt the Honda and Can Am are also great machines!!!
Instead of watching reviews on machines, you’re better off getting your hands on both brands and test driving them. I did that when I was looking for a machine. I drove the Ranger and Defender and I ended up choosing the Defender.

@@kapperoutdoors the 2020 defenders have heat and ac not sure if thats a new option but its available now i really like the defenders but am looking at both i have heard of the can ams having only 3 wheels spinning in certain situations which isnt a problem with polaris but have also heard.of the polaris 4x4 breaking more they are both great machines guess its really what your going to be doing with them i will probably wait until the end of the year or 2021 before i purchase one to see if any bugs or problems arise with either line i really like the defender xmr with the tire and snorkel package it comes with perfect for work and play going to give them both a look though guess it will come down to options warranty and which dealer is closer and more helpful because usually no matter what u buy these days with all the options amd electronics it will end up back at the dealer eventually
I had a 2010 Ranger....always thought the fit and finish and design was not as good as it could have been. Noticed newer Rangers were better. Does anyone think that the Defender is a better design than Ranger and that the fit and finish is better?
I had a Ranger, I think it was a 2005, but not sure. But I agree this new one is much more solid for the most part. Of course this is the new flagship, so it should be! Thanks
the only, but MAIN thing that discourages me from a Polaris is that JULY 4 th weekend here in St helen Mi , we had three polaris roadside BBQS! Yep! three burnt up for no reason other than that I love Polaris, and until they correct this, I WILL NOT BUY!
@@ve3xtr a lot of times, the overheating is caused by the coolant system not being bled, properly. I've noticed several people commenting that they had that particular problem. Once they had the system bled, properly, they didn't have that overheating problem, anymore.
@@GAFire166 Yes I've read those posts as well but that should have been done at the factory AND when the dealer does the pre delivery inspection. It shouldn't have to be done at all on a new machine.
I've had Hondas and one Polaris.....the Polaris always has more features.....but I don't like breakdowns out in the woods....reason I still have my Honda......granted they were not side by side....but reliability is primary for me.....
Honda is way better. 20 years from now the Honda would still be running the Polaris be in the junk yard. After the owner gets tired of endless money pit with all the repairs.
I've been riding atv's and sxs for years..nothing beats a honda for straight up durability. Hands down the longest lasting machine ever built

I’ve owned 1 Ranger and 2 can am utv’s the Ranger has lasted me 10 years and still going strong. Both Can Am’s had gear grinding issues.

Yes this is very true no Polaris won't last you as long as a Honda or can am. This is from first hand experience as well
Polaris build quality and reliability has been crap from way back before they even made the Ranger when it was just ATV’s.

To each their own, but...when your belt breaks. Maybe a Honda will pull you home. That is what I do for all of the Polaris and Can-Am owners.
No, they compared the same level machines. Keep in mind those are a year or two old comp vids but the highlights are what I was demonstrating. Yes, the belt can break at some point, but I've had so many belt machines over the years and never had one break yet and one of my machines I BOUGHT with 5,000 miles on it! Honda is a good machine, but built differently.
What are they doing to go through belts so much?, I have broken one belt in my lifetime

Man I've driven lots of different machines and the Ranger has been by far the smoothest. Now the belt thing... Don't know about that yet, lol
I looked at Polaris 1000, and the can am defender at a dealership that sells both.
The salesman indicated to me that Polaris utv’s developer fear more issues, maintenance wise, than Can ams.
I guess I don't know that for sure either way but they're both great machines I really like my Can-Am atv. Best of luck

Which one is the more dependable? Personally, I wouldn't care if the Polaris was a 1/2 second faster or, I had to take a few seconds to change gears or whatever. I want ruggedness and reliability and I've seen on youtube and elsewhere that the Polaris leaves something to be desired in that area.
Kapper stated in these comments that he used turf mode 90% of the time, but in the video the rag on how it takes an extra couple of seconds to shift between 2WD, 4WD, 4WD lock, etc.

My only real concern, going in on my first SXS purchase, is the longevity and reliability of the transmission and steering rack of whatever I go with. I’ve had a Honda shaft drive atv, a chain driven Honda 3 wheeler, and have a chain driven Honda motorcycle, but have only ever owned a belt driven John Deer lawn tractor. I’m sure that’s WAY different than a belt driven CVT on a Polaris SXS; more like a belt driven Harley or a snowmobile. What I’m looking at, they’re all pretty much dollar for dollar, so it’s just a matter of preference. I just don’t want to be seeing the dealership any more than I absolutely have to for little warranty things; should they arise. (The Honda lineup came about from the luck I had with the first. The old crusty 125M I had as a child. Then the 250 Recon. Then the 750 Shadow. All simple, basic machines, but I’ve not known a breakdown.) I’d like to branch out and take a chance and experience another brand, but it’s kinda hard when all you know is one brand in small engine stuff. Any helpful suggestions and comments welcomed. Thanks! Well, there are soooo many belt driven machines that have been on the market for eons (ok you get the idea) that I think your risk is minimal overall. While I agree Honda is a great machine, the comfort just does not compare to a Polaris. The smoother ride is incredible, and as I have gotten older I do appreciate that quite a bit! It was your choice,...and now I see why you picked the one you did. Like I said , I like the CanAm line, but for different reasons. I guess this is why there are choice that we can make.

Personally I won’t own a Can-Am again. My 2016 Outlander DPS Max 650 has been nothing but problems and I use it on the farm and deer lease. I have about 500 miles only and am about to do my 4th brake job. The brakes suck. Plus the DPS had to be fixed, the rear differential had issues and the digital display went out.

The 4WD systems in the Polaris and Can-Am are not the same as you mentioned. The Ranger does not have a locking front or rear differential, while the Defender does. Additionally, the Defender locks in either 2WD or 4WD. A locking rear differential is a huge element to a lot of folks.

Not only does my 2017 Ranger XP1000 have a locking rear end, it also has what they call "lawn mower" mode, where you can unlock the rear end and not tear up grass or gravel when making tight turns. My hunting partners have a Kawasaki TerX and a Yamaha Rhino. Whenever we decide to go over gnarly trails with just one machine, they both head to my Ranger..

I have heard that Polaris are good machines just expensive to work on. They seem to me to require lots of repairs. Though, if a machine has been dogged out by it’s owner, it is going to require a great deal of money, time and effort to keep it running.

@@middlehot Polaris gives you a GPS so you can tell them where to come to pull you out of the woods, a radio to have something to do while waiting for them and a camera so you can see them pull up behind you. :)

Can’t believe this review, can am blows the Polaris out of the water, as an owner of both, I can tell you that can am is the better machine, comfort, quiet, power, storage, bed size, and overall looks, by the way, in your comparison video, which was made by Polaris, they actually use the hd5, not even close to accurate
I'm about to trade in my 2019 Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 Northstar for the 2020 Can-Am Max Defender LTD with AC and heat. Hope it doesn't break down every time I take it for a ride like this POS Polaris.

Yeah a comparison video made by polaris using an hd5 haha. This dude was duped. First service in the defender isn't due till 200 hrs or 2000 miles. That polaris will have been in the shop 10 times before 100 hrs. Reverse chains and the rest of the stuff that likes to break. Would love to see a third party comparison using the defender xmr vs the ranger. Lol
I’ve got a 570 polaris with almost 10,000 miles on it. Engine and trans still work fine. Ball joints are shot to hell though.
We had one years ago and beat the heck out of it, but it was one working machine!

I have the pioneer 1000 and trail ride with a general 1000 and a ranger 1000 I burn half the fuel they do while doing the same thing the standard trans makes a huge fuel saving over the belts less rpm's and I've seen people with 40,000 miles on there pioneers trouble free which is crazy
Honda’s will out last the others however they preform so poorly against the ranger and the defender. So much slower, less torque and is easily out worked.. they are the best vehicle for grandpa to own

Kap, purchased the same unit a month back, checkout the tune from rvs performance. Loaded right on a unit called the dynojet and you can flash back to stock in 1 min. Its unbelievable in performance mode. Turns the unit into a beast and really wakes the machine up!
I think I'll leave it stock for awhile and then maybe consider a mod flash. I can't imagine it with more power and speed!!!! Must REALLY be a beast!!! :) thanks.

How do you think the transmission/clutch with belt will holdup. My biggest fault with all the others is they use those belts. Honda is about the only one that doesn't. Like others have commented about the durability of a Honda, we have a 96 3000 Fourtrax that is ridden almost daily.
I hear you, but I have to say that so many guys that have Polaris machines get 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 miles on the Polaris machines before they need a belt change. I guess it depends on how much mudding and hard riding you will be doing. But great that we have choices! Thanks

It was super obvious on the can am centerblock test the shocks were tuned all the way down. The can am defender xmr will eat that ranger alive in any environment
Not so sure about that, but to each their own. I've owned several Polaris machines, all of the work crews out here mostly own them, Most of the real estate guys I know own them, they are tough machines and take a beating.

There is a price difference between the 3 models about 3-4,000$ with the extra features but as you said only 2 have a/c.
Which in Alabama it's a needed option. Only thing I don't like on the Polaris is the shift points while loaded. It may change when you use work button idk. Let us know what you think. Kapper..👍
My 2018 xp1000 dosen't have an issue with loaded or not? Iv had the hitch 4 inches from the ground box stacked with fire wood didnt miss a beat.
well there isn't really shift points so to speak because it's a continuous drive belt. However with the three electronic control systems that is what it's designed to do for varying tasks. I'll keep you posted

We've been doing well, everything is good in our little holler lol. I like certain features on both of them. We have the five seater pioneer for when we all go out riding. Ranger is definitely easier to get in and out of for farm work.

Yeah, the only problem is that....you'll see tons of Polaris in the shop, unfortunately! I love the look of Polaris the best :( Honda's shaft drive vs. CVT is the biggest deal...and perhaps the steering that doesn't fall apart in the Honda vs. Polaris' notorious steering box .
Well when you have 80% market share for machines, it stands only to reason that it will seem like more of them are in the shop! A lot of the Rangers are running out to 7,000 8,000 miles and more on the original belt. Just sayin, thanks man.

I’ve owned a ranger and a pioneer 1000. The only thing you got superior with your Polaris is the yuppy gps stuff, ac and cab. The real stuff that makes a machine the Honda is not even a comparison. First off the test the 5 seater Honda, to a 3 seater Polaris is a drag race which is hilarious. The show a fake dyno video. The technology Honda has does not allow you to dyno in 2wd and an awd dyno compared to a 2wd Polaris would be an unfair test. And with the “soft ride” they claim you INSTANTLY lose the ground clearance. In a straight flat field or road the Polaris would be great. Other then that not a chance you will be happy with your Polaris in a year, make sure you do a year review and screen shot this comment lol Now that I’m done defending the Honda because it’s definitely a superior machine in the real world not a show room, you will absolutely LOVE the cab, love the heat and love the A/C. The lack of support from Polaris and issues made me trade mine in for my Honda and I’ll never go back.

Great video, thanks! I'm in the market for one now. Looked at the Pioneer today and wasn't overly impressed for the amount of money and also heard some horror stories on the 6 speed shifting. Can AM is OK too, but as your video points out there's a ton of difference. Just curious if you looked at the Kawasaki Mules at all and what your thoughts are on them. Right now I'm torn between the Ranger and a Mule. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You should have looked in the BACK of the dealership where they do the repairs. You'd see plenty of Polaris machines, but not Hondas.
About to get me a 570 full size ranger. It’ll go just as well just not as fast lol I like that the cab and attachments fit all the rangers, I bet that 1000 rips! That little 570 is no slouch either though, has more power than the 700 Honda and is faster

Very nice machine! you got the ones with the most bells and whistles, everything is working like it should now but how about 10 years down the road? the honda will still be going strong when the polaris is parked in the weeds.

@@kapperoutdoors I have been looking at the New Honda's I wouldn't buy one myself. I have always had Honda ATV's and had very good service first one I had was a 92 model it's still running. But you made the right decision getting the Polaris it appears to be the best I have seen. The winch cable they make a rubber bumper that goes on them so the hook don't get pulled into the winch, have one on mine it works really good.
Just bought one almost exactly like yours i gotta say the suspension is smooth but too soft i bottom out the suspension way to much
Well you can always stiffen it up! There are 5 different settings on the springs you know :) Good luck!

Polaris is a good machine till it starts falling apart and that will come very soon. 4900 trouble free miles on an Honda pioneer. I have owned 2 Polaris sxs and neither made it to 500 miles without going back to the dealer.
Me too that's why I bought the pioneer 1000. 2020 model. My buddy bought the polaris 1000 and has had it in shop twice. Belt and rear end.

I'm 6'5". Its a little snug but plenty comfortable it's not like I'm totally cramped

Can am has some new updates that make them better. I sold my ranger to buy a 2020 can am that has more power, smoother clutching, better suspension and a quieter motor. Plus it has 6 wheels

Yours was the first video that has me reconsidering and going back into the process with less of a bias. No intention of trash talk. They have been making them longer than most after all...
What happened with the Intimidator? Was it not up to the other machines standards?
We still have the electric Intimidator but I sold the gas unit. I bought the Kubota (thought they were supposed to be this amazing machine...... not...) and so I had to sell the Intimidator, couldn't afford to keep them both... You know what they say about hindsight..... but this machine rocks!

Face it, its all about air conditioning! Why didn't you look at the Polaris General ride command? Love my General but i hate to admit but I think the Honda is the most reliable of the three manufacturers!
I'm sure he'll figure that out when the Polaris starts to break down on a regular basis.
You are right and I admit that AC was a big deal! However.... Look at all the specs!!! Polaris is an animal! Now, if it breaks down alot I can't predict that, but they sure aren't some fly by night company! No doubt the Honda and Can Am are also great machines!!!

So far other than a recall its been good.
Instead of watching reviews on machines, you’re better off getting your hands on both brands and test driving them. I did that when I was looking for a machine. I drove the Ranger and Defender and I ended up choosing the Defender.
Roger that to each their own. But the real fact of the matter for me was that as soon as I found out no AC..... The defender was dead in the water, otherwise it was the first one I was looking at! @@kapperoutdoors the 2020 defenders have heat and ac not sure if thats a new option but its available now i really like the defenders but am looking at both i have heard of the can ams having only 3 wheels spinning in certain situations which isnt a problem with polaris but have also heard.of the polaris 4x4 breaking more they are both great machines guess its really what your going to be doing with them i will probably wait until the end of the year or 2021 before i purchase one to see if any bugs or problems arise with either line i really like the defender xmr with the tire and snorkel package it comes with perfect for work and play going to give them both a look though guess it will come down to options warranty and which dealer is closer and more helpful because usually no matter what u buy these days with all the options amd electronics it will end up back at the dealer eventually

I had a 2010 Ranger....always thought the fit and finish and design was not as good as it could have been. Noticed newer Rangers were better. Does anyone think that the Defender is a better design than Ranger and that the fit and finish is better?
I had a Ranger, I think it was a 2005, but not sure. But I agree this new one is much more solid for the most part. Of course this is the new flagship, so it should be! Thanks

the only, but MAIN thing that discourages me from a Polaris is that JULY 4 th weekend here in St helen Mi , we had three polaris roadside BBQS! Yep! three burnt up for no reason other than that I love Polaris, and until they correct this, I WILL NOT BUY!

Yep. And the overheating problems. My employer bought a new Polaris Ranger, within 6 months we had an overheating issue.
@@ve3xtr a lot of times, the overheating is caused by the coolant system not being bled, properly. I've noticed several people commenting that they had that particular problem. Once they had the system bled, properly, they didn't have that overheating problem, anymore.
@@GAFire166 Yes I've read those posts as well but that should have been done at the factory AND when the dealer does the pre delivery inspection. It shouldn't have to be done at all on a new machine.
Honda pioneer has had flawless reliability. Friends with polaris rzr have way to many problems for me.

Honda is way better. 20 years from now the Honda would still be running the Polaris be in the junk yard. After the owner gets tired of endless money pit with all the repairs.
