    Just bought a brand new 2022 Can Am Defender Max XT HD10!!!! Have only got to go on a short ride so far - but I'm very excited to see what it can do up in the mountains!!

      Hey Ben, congrats on your machine. I have the same machine in a 2021. I live in Southern New Mexico. And I get a lot of use out of mine. I'm going on 8 thousand miles on mine. I use mine as a daily driver plus hunting rock hounding and just getting out in the BLM land. Great machine. But it is a machine and needs a lot of maintenance. Keep up with your maintenance and it won't let you down. Any thing I can do to help in any questions. Give me a shout. Good luck.

    I have the 2021 hd 10 limited with 8000 miles on it . Great machine. Biggest issue i has with my machine is the front suspension. They seem to be the week point of the machine. Even with the grease fitting. And greasing on a higher frequency. I still have issues. They do make a up grade with UHMW bushings. What ever machine you choose. Keep up with all the maintenance. In some cases. You may have the increase frequencys. Thanks for the the comparison on both machines . Both are good products.

      aceyorba not necessarily true I have the 2024 polaris xp northstar ultimate and I find myself doing all the pulling even regular size trucks and that beast do its job and very well so you might want to leave polaris alone. I find that most people who hate on polaris do it because they can't afford one

    Polaris supports blm and have them tons of money. They also got rid of a few dealers who spoke out against this. Can am gets my vote even with a little less ground clearance

      I was only able to find one instance where Polaris forced out a dealer and found no evidence of Polaris donating large sums to BLM. Can you point me to more details?

    As the number 1 dealer for Polaris for over 20 years Abernathys in Union city tn . After Polaris terminated my dealership over a BLM comment on my personal Facebook my wife bought me a new Can Am defender limited for my birthday. There is a huge difference in the models . Can Am is larger more comfortable quieter and built way better and heavier. I love it way better than Polaris. But be a dealership for 65 years the most reliable products that I sold which was Polaris Honda Yamaha by far Yamaha was the most dependable by far . Polaris was the worst in dependable

      Hey Russ. My name's Roy. I wheel in the deserts of So California. All my life all I ever owned was Yamaha....very, very dependable machines. My first was a TT 500 back in 1978. Anyway, in 2010 I bought my first SxS and it was a Ranger 800. It never let me down, but I would say Polaris let some things "slip" that Yamaha would have been embarrassed to produce. Eventually downsized, sold the Ranger and now 3 years later, if Yamaha built something comparable to a Crew, I'd buy it. Their Viking only has a 700.....the local dealership has a Ranger XP 1000 and i can honestly say it is better than my old 800 I purchased years ago. Have a great day...please feel free to comment.

    Good Review. The Can Am has the passenger grab hand in front, which you mentioned. The Polaris has the passenger grab handle on the roll bar - which you didn't mention. I much prefer the grab handle position on the Polaris. Also, while the Can Am has the removeable tool box on the floor (which you mentioned), the Polaris has a place for 5 gallon buckets under the passenger seat and the rear seat as well.

    • @worldsokayesthunter
      @worldsokayesthunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's true about the bucket but I haven't found it as useful as the more custom fit option of the Canam. I tend to prefer the grab handle of the canam. Regardless, thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    A great vid man, audio is a little rough but that is ok don't sweat it can still hear ya 😉 I like the real world comparison that you give. I have driven a ranger but not a can am one thing I noticed about the ranger from your vid was how quiet it was compared to the can am engine noise wise that alone makes it a winner in my book.

    having used both for work, i don't like either. when trying to tow a lightly loaded trailer both seem to lack power. the can ams seem to have a habit of smoking drive belts and the drive system in the polaris isn't much better. the slightly sportier kawasaki terryx is a much more powerful unit for towing however it is only a 4 seater and has limited tray space.

    The dilemma is wait times and availability. I wanted a Honda Pioneer but would be waiting into 2022. Only thing in Alaska that was available when i was ready to buy was a can am commander. Going to make it work although it is not what i would had bought if there were options available besides wait another year.

  • @jdmixon80

    To me the four wheel drive system on the Polaris is far superior to any other SxS or ATV. It is an on demand system that works much differently than most. It gives the machine true four wheel drive quicker than a differential can lock.

    When you say fleet, are you using these for semi commercial purposes ? Would explain the unusually high miles on the old ranger unless you bought it used with high miles. Also, regarding the can am 4wd system, you praised it but that is one of the big criticisms of it vs the ranger, the rangers system is notably better than the versi lock can am.

    • @worldsokayesthunter
      @worldsokayesthunter  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am merely using the world fleet to describe the handful of vehicles we have. My old ranger was bought new. I used it on a 6k acre property so piling on miles every weekend was easy.

    Yeah so you could’ve saved yourself a lot of time on this video if you started out with the number one reason to buy either one that’s “reliability“ and buying parts in the future or not buying parts in the future the near future everything after that window dressing reliability is number one and we both and all your viewers know which one is by far more reliable and it’s not the Polaris. Also known as the “belt eater”. A good way to think of the comparison between these two is thinking the Polaris as a Chevy never finished and having several weak points , Bus each new model of the exact same vehicle has improvements that they knew they needed three years ago the Can-Am is a finished product with very few improvements if I ever, but knowing if one was needed the next year would have it I’d like to Polaris who sells several years of the same model with weak points.
