There are some anal people that will split hairs about this car being able to do 10s.. which your video proved it can, even with a novice (at the drag strip) driver ;)
@@NlghtShifter I don't know what staging shallow means. I just moved forward until they told me to stop. I took the back seat out which is about 20 lbs and I weigh 150. If I had the sexy buttons I would be able to run a 10.5 because I could heat the battery. The car is totally stock, I am broke and haven't spent any money on the car. I also had 3 cameras and mics, which probably weigh a couple lbs. I wish I could afford some thin wheels with drag tires and I could take another .1-.2 off.

The car will start pre-conditioning while you sit there at the track. Wait about 7 - 8 mins (for a 2024) then press end trip and you're all set ;) No need to drive around. As for wheels (cheapest)... the Konig Hypergrams 18x8.5 square setup seem to be the lightest rims for $200 - 289 each. Only 18 lbs. each. Couple that with some quality lightweight tires. Hubcentric Rings r not necessary if installed properly. The tapered aftermarket lug nuts this wheel accepts will automatically center the wheel if installed correctly ;) After all this you should be in the 10.5s like (Eddy),or maybe 10.4s since you're a lightweight, and without fuxoring your warranty.

@@ericn3221 I ran a 10.7 a couple weeks later, but my computer died so I wasn't able to post the video. I got a new computer and I am hoping to get it posted this week. I'm pretty sure 10.7 is the fastest official time for a stock Model 3.
I get mine tomorrow, super excited, I really hope there is a performance boost upgrade (maybe an actual Ludacris mode), but all-round, this car is a monster, good races!

Hello, I see you mentioning altitude for a better time in your replies to commenters but I would think this would not affect an electric car since it’s not like the motor needs air to perform better like an ICE car.
@@TommyboyGTP those m113k engines are bulletproof but can barely break 20mpg on highway and single digits in the city. I had one of those 5.4l v8s, tank motor but still require lots of maintenance.
I’m a car guy…at the end of the day, a Tesla is still a car. I went from a Z to the same car as you…only stealth gray though because I like dark colors. Real car guys don’t care if it’s EV or not. Just saying. We’re just here to have fun. The only issue is the average entitled Tesla driver behavior. That is why some of us are anti-Tesla. Even I sometimes make fun of Tesla drivers which is ironic because I drive one. Not because of the car. It’s usually because of the driver.
I have mostly owned cheap garbage cars with a few classic muscle cars. Most I ever spent on a car was $6k before I got my Tesla. And I had been driving an 85 4runner that I paid $1k for. I am having a lot of fun with it.
just so you know, reaction time does not go towards the ET. It only counts towards leaving before or after the other lane and finishing first and breakouts in bracket racing. Drag racing is addicting :)
Every race I got slower and slower as the adrenaline and caffeine burned out. I had to leave half way through the night because I was crashing to the point I was getting a Migraine. It was an amazing rush but I am not going to be consistent enough to compete.

Trap speed is how fast you’re going in the 1/4 mile. As you can see towards the end of the race he’s pulling on you hard. If the race was from a roll, the AMG would pull on you hard due to the 6.5-7mph difference.
I agree... Within valid requirements: I5N best @ 11.05 -0.70% slope on Dragy Leaderboard... but the 2024 M3P @ 10.89 -0.85% slope still bested that time. I have to entrust what the op of that time says being the car is 100% stock and with the all-weather mats and aero caps. No 100% stock I5N did 10s... yet. Dragy is known not to be accurate with slope. I've run a few times on the exact road back to back... and the slope was minus and plus invalid valid... not consistent at all. So I'll trust an NHRA certified track more than the dragy. Don't get me wrong, the dragy is a great tool and gives you within +-0.04 of the track time if you run with it... but the slope keeps changing run after run. I wouldn't mind a hair difference... but not e.g., -1.5 to 0.8 lol! Could be not getting a good lock with the satellite array... uhh unless there was sudden furtive tectonic plate action in that area ;)
@@Rodger16 havent dyno it with this current setup but it did make 630whp on pump gas and its now on full E85. So i would guess maybe 730whp also vehicle weighs 4200lbs
The reason is the US tax credit requiring their batteries not to be sourced from China, so Tesla has been allocating all of their Panasonic battery capacity for the US leaving the LG for other markets. The trade-off is better consistency and lower battery degradation on the LG though.

Yeah those W version MB were beast back in the day. I think stock E55’s were trapping 117-119mph in the quarter back then.
Make sure you turn off your AC when running at the track. Don’t want to leave any water on the track.

How much do you weigh? also a downhill dragstrip, what the hack. You could put it in natural and roll the whole way.
I am 155, and it is an optical illusion that makes it look downhill. This is Sonoma Raceway it is a certified drag strip.
