- The Glock 44 OEM mags are very dependable but only hold 10 rounds. I purchased the ProMag 18 rounds mags with great anticipation of more training options. I found these hard to load due to the very heavy and stiff spring. I found the Remington Golden Bullets jamming mid way in the mag and not allowing the rounds to feed into the barrel. I didn't have this issue with the CCI Mini Mag brand, but I have a limited stock of CCI. Rather than returning the mags, I wanted to try to tweek them and get what I want. This is the process I went through to improve their function.
I jammed 20 and 21 rounds in mine and left it loaded for 3 weeks. I’ve bought 4 of them and all 4 run flawlessly now. 0 malfunctions through about 2000 rounds. Do that they’ll be good to go.
Thank you. Any updates?
Sorry for the long delay, I had shoulder and hand surgery 5 weeks ago. I've been shooting support hand only for 3 weeks. Today I tried the pro mags again in the Glock 44, They are now in the dumpster. OEM mags ran fine, not so on the promag. One day I will learn to do more research before the purchase. Thanks for watching my videos.
Yes I've over loaded mine as well.... They run great.
Good to know. I'll try to get one in my country (Spain) to test it out.
Thanks, I have my mags coming in.
Just bought a Glock 44. Thanks for the mods.
Old saying “stock is best”. My students use the stock mags due to dependability, good training gun. Thanks for watching
thanks for the promag tip...I didn't know they had a 18 rd mag. When I bought my glock 44 I bought 2 extra 10 rd mags. I wished I used that money to by a 18 rd mag.
Good Morning and Thanks for Watching, I did away with the ProMags, I could not rely on them. EBay has a 5 round extension plate for your mags, I watched the video, You must remove the EZ load tab and put on the new base. I have not tried them, but he says its a 5 round extension. I like the EZ load tab and choose not to remove it. The EBay seller is tristaselma_0. Its listed as Glock 44 Magazine Extension. If you try it, Please let me know how it works.
@Edward Warwick I watched it, It requires the removal of the load assist slide, That is one feature I don't want to lose. Thanks for watching.
The pro mags are hard as hell to load just a heads up
Never had a pro mag that I would trust.
Well I've tried everything that I know to do, These are now in the dumpster, OEM mags work fine. Disappointed with the ProMags. I gave them every chance I could.
@Matt Glass hahahaha
My g44 extended clip carry’s 25 rounds works flawless. I don’t think anyone has a chance 25 +1 rounds rapid fire on target ! No brainer! Great buy for sure!
Please tell me more about the mag extension. I have interest. Thanks For Watching
Is the glock 44 10+1 gun ? can I have one ammo in the chamber then load a magazine with 10 ammo ?
Had misfeed problems with the Remingtons on the factory glock mags... switched to cci mini-mags and all problems went away. It oddly enough was usually with the first round, but not always. Dont know why the cci works perfectly. Same for the M&P 22lr also, so its got to be the ammo.
I've switched to CCI also, it was all I could find for a time, They have given me reliable performance also. Thanks for watching
I have 2 PMAG with my G44 and I did nothing as all is ok. But the critical point is : Use only speed cartridge specially if as me you are using a suppressor. So CCI stinger, Winchester X, all spedd egal or more than 400 m/s.
Thanks for the review. I'll stay away from ProMag.
Just watched your video and realized it was two years old but thought that you might try taking the spring out of a ten round mg and put it in the pro mag and see if the mag pro functions.
I like that thought. The pro mags have been in a box, not reliable, so I will give it a try. Thanks for the idea
I did the spring cut on 2 of my promag 18rounders like in your video, ran smooth as butter
Same poor results in four 18rounder ProMags using Golden Bullets. Wouldn't load until I bent 6-7 rounds and the mag was loaded with 12 or less.
Winchester hollow point 36gr worked fairly well loaded to 18. Sometimes the 1st couple rounds wouldn't feed, got a few stovepipes.
Federal ran great. 1 stovepipe.
Aguila ran 100% loaded to 18 in the ProMag mags.
Golden Bullets (and any brand I've tried) work 99.9% with Glock factory 10riunders.
listen ppl you cannot load a .22 mag for any .22 on the market and have it shoot reliably I have put 3,000 rounds through the 18rd promags they work just fine with shit ammo u just have to load them right the way this man loaded these mags or stock mags or mark mags they will not feed period.
Have you try them yet after cutting the spring
Yes, unfortunately I did not get the results I hoped for. The load assist was much better and the CCI ammo worked well, but I had to max the load on the Golden Bullets to 12 rounds. More than 12 rounds would jam up. Wish I had better news.
I was hoping it would work I got a couple of them and they don't like the thunderbolts ammo
So what happened after actual live fire
The ProMags have found another home, somewhere in the swamp or dump. I was not able to get them to be reliable and could not train with them. Some people have had very good luck with them, not me. Thanks for watching
your loading them wrong.

Thank you so much...👍... have you ha d many issues with the Pro Mags....i cant wait to try mine when they arrive
Didnt watch the vid, long story short, if i pay for it i expect it to work without any mods whatsoever, thats what i pay for so i expect the mamufacturer to do that
I agree, these mags have found a new home in the dump. Hope to save someone the expense of trying them. Thanks for the comment

I don’t care for the model 44, I think other gun companies have a leg up on the 22LR handgun and its viability to be used as a training option. The Taurus TX22 gives me 16 rounds and is a great training option. I’ve had no luck with mods to the 10 round Glock mags. I watched a video on removing the load assist in the mag to get more rounds in, I have yet to try this.
Worst glock ever made, oh you want a g19 trainer? Thats what it was designed for Well 15 rd mags dont exist, you want a threaded barrel and red dot? Well now you have over $1200 into a .22lr handgun and a 2 month wait for a red dot slide. Mags are very hard to load, and most times they jam like crazy and very picky on ammo, seriously just buy a tx22c and dont look back for $400 and has everything you could possibly want. Glock shit the bed on the 44 NOBODY asked for a plastic slide not one person you cant even really put better iron sights on it or suppressor height if you wanted without risking destroying the slide
