In the last video we installed the PRL Big Turbo Kit! Replacing our Pure Turbos drop-in and moving up to a Garrett GTX 2860R Gen II. We finally got the time to meet with my tuner Daniel Butler to get the Civic Si officially Dyno Tuned once again! Making sure all the tuning is dialed in and ready for us to take on the streets once again! This is our milestone for now until we proceed to the next step which is more fuel! (fuel system upgrade), which is planned for the future! So far satisfied with the results! Hope you enjoy family!~

Is there drone in the cabin? I couldn't deal with the drone of my HKS Hi-Power and sold it. Happy with just DP/FP for now but I'm always looking for an exhaust that will be a little louder/deeper without the drone.

i just got my 2018 si 2 weeks ago i love the thing trying to weed through all the people talking about the oil dilution so i got warranty any ways im not too worried, overall the car is bone stock and you can still have alot of fun with it.. crazy to see you got 350whp thats insane out of a 1.5 tbh. love the video!

You can add a port injection system in addition to the di already there for more fuel. It also solves any carbon buildup on the valves.

I’ve always assumed a small 1.5L turbo would always be too small for a 2,900 lb sedan/coupe. MINI Cooper S/JCW has a 2.0 liter in a 2,700 lb hatchback, GTI has a 2.0L and weighs around 3,200 lbs.
Well I was wrong. The little 1.5 CAN be turned into a giant killer after all!

You guys should get a 2006 to 2015 si. Trust me, nothin against the 1.5 t but the 2.0 & 2.4 will have more low end torque, thats why v8 make good power but do go to the gas station more often.
But this is a 4 cylinder so it shouldn't be to bad, you know.

ice scoop only reason I didn’t go for a 9th gen si is because in my area they were going for a lot. I would see 2015 si for 20k when the 10th si (2020) I bought came out to 27k although I do perfer the kseries, a brand new car for a bit more money was the better option 👍
@@qwerty.us412 shoo. 27 for a civic, didnt ever think a civic would go for that much. I would then just get a basic 2 liter with 155 hp and add boost if i wanted to but do my research 1st of course ha.
Id probably go for an Accord coupe or sedan if need space for deliveries etc. With the J35 278 hp and 6 speed manual unless the auto shifts ok and you know how to put the good stuff in it ha.

You can do water/meth injection which removes the corrosive properties of the concentrated methanol but still get a good jump in power
i own 2017 SI its nice after seen all those bolt ons it only gives 350 hp how much did you spend and thats not including suspension brakes i'll keep mine simple nice vid by the way
350 on a 2800 pound car is pretty quick bro lol, no need for more than that as you’re gonna spin like a mother. 350 is like the max good hp numbers for a fwd once you pass thay you’re on ice all the time lol

Thanks for the love brotha 🤙🏼💯 The Si wasn’t a project I expected to take so deeply, but it happened. As for the horsepower, what the Dyno reads is power to the wheels. So of the box the Civic Si makes 205hp to the “crack” which is about 175 hp to the “wheels”. We dyno’d at 350 hp to the “wheels” if you wanted to calculate crank hp, that 350 to the wheels is more like 400 horsepower to the crank. So it’s made over double the horsepower than stock in reality. As for the Type R, they make 305 hp to the “crank” out the box, which is about 267 hp to the “wheels” . Also with this turbo, it’s not always about the numbers but also about the power curve, understanding when the power comes in. To give better insight, this set-up has already gapped stock Type R’s and even gave bolt-on tuned Type R’s a struggle. The numbers you see aren’t how it is on the streets 💪🏼💯 But I also wanted to share what these 1.5L platforms are capable of, that’s why I didn’t get an R.

@@PhongVLG someone in my town has a Type R making 600 to the wheels. The Si is def nice, my WRX caught fire after hitting a deer so it’s most likely my next whip bc of affordability, but they’re slow. Just sayin if you could afford a Type R and build it, it’d leave the Si in the dust. I think it’s a good affordable daily driver with lots of creature comforts but it doesn’t want smoke with most sports cars. I’m going to miss my WRX 😭
@@rwelsher1911 I’m sorry to hear about your WRX brotha, it’s unfortunate but you can always get another one in the future! As for the Type R yeah it’s pretty excellent when modified too, but I wouldn’t cut the Si short, you’d be surprised what capabilities this car actually has. Numbers are one thing, but don’t forget the Si’s are also lighter. I made more on the drop-in turbo, but that was on Full E85. This turbo is bigger which utilized more fuel, so we can’t unlock the full potential just yet until we upgrade the fuel system. She’s only on E30, if she was on Full E we would push 450-500hp!

Yes I always advise people to stay under 300hp if you’re on stock internals. Also Yes, Built Engine & Built Transmission, you can find videos of it on my channel. I document most of my build!

Car has upgraded valve springs already & upgraded cams have yet to be released for this car.

How much money you think it will take for me to hit the 300hp club? I have a 2017 si sedan like you. Also would i have to build the motor ? 300hp wont handle the stock block?
So you can definitely make 300hp pretty easy and on the stock turbo. Going FBO (Full Bolt-ons) that’s: Intake, Exhaust, Intercooler + Chargepipes, Downpipe & Frontpipe. And then an E85 flex fuel kit and run an E85 fuel tune and can easily produce 300hp. If you want to be “safer” hence the word safer, on the stock block. You’ll want to keep the torque down, torque is what will shoot rods. So producing high torque will also increase the chance of a blown engine.
Easy... port injection with a motec. I have it on my type r, really easy.

I just got mine and I had to buy it while it was in transport to the dealership. According the to dealer, inventory has been a struggle due to Covid shutting the factory down for a while.

The plan wasn’t to go so deep into the Si, but it happened. I’ve kind of stuck with the platform due to it being the underdog platform and wanted to show people what these little 1.5L are capable of. Someone has to do it 🤷♂️

Aside from being on E85, no. Still stock fuel pump and stock Injectors. Currently limited to E30 blend on this Turbo Set-up, soon we’ll upgrade the fuel system that way we can use the turbo’s full potential!

Not trying to start anything just want to understand more, I'm coming from a 2017 roush charged Mustang and trying to see why people like imports so much with such small wimpy sounding cars don't understand the appeal I guess compared to having a big V8 sounding muscle car and more power I don't get why people buy these and they sound so weak when on the road. I'm over 650rwhp with just a basic stage 2 kit on 93 fuel.
I understand where you are coming from, trust me I’d love a beautiful sounding V8 apart of my collection (which will happen in the near future) but even with imported cars there’s a sense of satisfaction to it especially this car being an underdog and not looked at to be all that fast. Granted 350whp isn’t all that fast compared to your 650whp mustang, but on the streets for what it runs into, it actually surprises a lot of cars. I enjoy the satisfaction of the turbo noises and the exhaust tone isn’t bad at all either, not rasp but just a nice bass tone.
I’m also sure I can vouch and say that not everyone can afford the most high end of cars, but we build it to make it enjoyable and hopefully comparable. But honestly I can go on a whole list why there are different view points, just as an exotic owner would ask why you would purchase a V8 instead of just getting a Lamborghini, etc. which I’m sure you have your view points of course.
In the end that’s what makes the car community awesome is that there is a whole collection of different and unique builds and everyone has a certain taste, I for one love to have a collection of all different type of cars. I see all aspects of why a V8 Mustang can be appealing the same way I see an Inline-6 RB26 Nissan GTR or 2jz Supra appealing. They all have something to offer that’s different and unique! Just like this Civic. Soon we’ll hit 500whp on this platform (all that’s needed is an upgraded fuel system) and that’ll be the end for this project. I do see a C7 Z06 in my future as one of the next 😉
