Haters can only do one thing : Hate... That's why they're called haters 😄😄 So far I own 7 : Two original German-made '82, a 2007 pink one, a 2014 black one and two brand new others, a green one and a gold one and lastly a red Deluxe model with two Humbuckers... I wouldn't compare them to my full-sized guitars of course but they're fun to play, comfy and they sound LOUD especially considering the small size... Every time I get one I will level the frets, shield the cavities, install tusq nuts and maybe locking tuners... The stock Humbuckers on the Chinese reissues are okay but I always replace them with something different each time... The wraparound bridges are always replaced too... As for the neck dive my own personal solution is to attach something slightly heavy ( but not so heavy ) on the strap that goes behind my back...And there are lots of cool things around... I might even figure out a way to install a tremolo on some of them in the future... I take them on stage regularly and they're reliable solid performers...
Wow, that's a lot of Hofners! I do like mine, but I totally agree with your upgrades. It's a surprisingly cool little guitar. I think I'll hold on to it. When I've got time I'll do a fret level and some hardware upgrades. I've got a Seymour Duncan Slash pup and some hipshot locking tuners lying about... overkill? Yes. Fun? Absolutely! Keep rockin'🎸🤘
I bought one second-hand. Very happy with it But here's a warning! I had to replace the bridge as the intonation screws had stripped the threads in the bridge. I think that's because the bridge material isn't good enough to set the intonation with full string tension on.
I've not experienced that thankfully! Maybe that's something which can happen over time if it's second hand. I'll watch out for it. Loving this little guitar, it's so easy just to pick up and take anywhere. Keep rockin'
Looks absolutely adequate for its intended purpose. Can't expect too much from a guitar that is as small as this, but for travel and/or a small space, this looks like it might work well enough.
Agreed, it's a pretty super little thing and not very expensive. Yes it has some quirks, but they're forgivable given what it's aiming to do. It's a fun guitar for sure.
ive been looking at the deluxe version for a while, couple of reasons im considering it are that 1) im a complete beginner so dont need to splash out on some full size thing with all the bells and whistles, i feel like it will do just for sitting around at home learning how to play it, reason 2 is i'm a bit of a short arsed wheelchair user, cant do that standing up thing, so full size guitars are just not possible for me, my Dad in his usual wisdom bought me a jumbo acoustic when i was a teenager that was nearly bigger than i am.... i think something of this scale will suit me much better and its not like i have any plans to go out on tour with a band or anything once ive learned to play, it'll be enough for my needs. and you mentioned the boss katana mini amp, thats the amp i was considering too, but i did recently discover the boss katana go headphone amp, that might even work for my needs.
It's a decent guitar for sure. It takes some getting used to and needs to be held quite firmly to play it sat down given just how small it is. It's huge advantage is exactly that though - just how small it is. If you're looking for something small and easy to play which is nice to sit with, here are some other options to consider: 1) Harlem Headless Guitar by Gear4music 2) Epiphone Power Players 3) Squier Mustang. I own the Squier Mustang too and posted a review, please excuse the roughness, it's one of my first reviews, but hopefully it's useful for you in your search. @@appetiteforguitar i think even some of those you listed might be a bit big for me (but thanks for the list) thats why the hofner appeals to me. nothing wrong with that review, better than anything i could do 😄
Much appreciated, kind of you. Whichever guitar you decide to get, I'd highly recommend getting it straight to a guitar shop near you and asking them to set it up with a low action so it's nice to play. I spent years of toiling when I started with guitars which were just horrible to play... I soldiered on, but it could have been so much easier and enjoyable. Best of luck.
just got one a few hours ago. everything seems in order already. intuned , good action. already packed to take it to work tomorrow. it seems very promising. made a strap connected to a cord to the headstock, but still working on it. palm muting is a challenge. equipped with a pocket pod, can't wait. only one thing.. low e string, fret 7 a little buzzing. stock strings very poor quality, frets to be polished. other than that, love at first sight. by the way it is a 2 hb model. the full lenghth board is what sold me. those blackstar and squier mini with a mini fretboard did not convince me at all, they look like a toy. this one too, but classy
Hey matey, so I've been experimenting with the best way to record the audio for TH-cam for best results. On this video, I actually plugged in my amp direct to the audio interface of my computer. And just recorded in my free DAW - Cakewalk. Very simple, but it worked great here I think. The other way is I have started using Tonex... that's pretty amazing. The amp sims on that are top notch and I'll be doing more videos using that coming up.

How and with what do you replace the wraparound bridge with!
Thankful for answer!

Well done Sir, thank you ...also really appreciate the ProAudio quality--easier to gauge what I can generally expect.
Thank you very much! Plenty more videos to come. Keep rockin' 🎸🤘
Nice review. Cheers mate.👍
No problem 👍
