I used your method for my white dip nails I did yesterday. Thank you, I used the clear, 4 layers of white then clear. Question do you have a video on refilling the white with dip? I want to keep the white and just refill the growth. Do I have to take everything off?

Hi, thanks for such a detailed tutorial. I have a question - wouldn't I need more than 1 dip of clear powder to encapsulate the pigment if 1.5-2 layers are buffed or filed off at the end of the process? That would mean that after filing I would completely buff away the clear coat and reach the pigmented layers. I would like to prevent splotchiness. Thank you!

This is a great question! When you apply the clear layer, the clear dip powder bonds to the pigment. This steps minimizes the amount of pigment transfer & pigment shaving by 90%. You will lose some pigment in the filing/buffing process, but this fails in comparison to not having the clear dip layer at all..
I only apply one (1) layer of clear powder, but I also re-dip my nails in the opposite direction back into the clear powder. This step is added insurance to ensures you have enough clear powder on the nails before you start the filing process.

Thanks for another helpful video! I used this method on my last mani after watching one of your videos. My nails look a lot better, thinner sidewalls, and less bumpiness. I did have a nail pop off, so I don't know what I did or didn't do! lol I had to rebuild that nail with a coffee filter because it splits down the middle. I decided on a white nail and the only issue I had is that it seemed more transparent around the cuticle because of less color. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks again!! 🌸🌸💕💕

I have a couple of tips to fix/correct transparency around the cuticle:
(1) try leaving your finger in the dip powder for 7-10 seconds for each dip layer. This will allow more powder to adhere to base coat thus reducing/removing any the transparency issues.

I have better luck with white and very light colors, when I use gel base coat as a dip base instead of the dip base that comes with the dip kits. Hardly any streaks.
How do you apply that base so flawlessly? ❤
