    Ok hands down this is the best ever. I knew there had to be a better way for the dip. You got it on point. I’ve been wanting to try dip, but never liked the thick look of them. I have all the stuff but the dip. Now I’m going to make my first dip order and going to give this a try. Thank you so very much for making this video, you have changed my mind about dipping 😊❤️

    I’ve been doing it this way for quite a while. I was stupid when I first started I didn’t realize I should use basecoat and I was using topcoat instead. It does work, but basecoat is definitely better. I love this way it’s so much better than the glue and you can really take your time since it doesn’t dry like the glue does.
    TIP!!
    you can use colored gel nail polish and just use clear acrylic powder. I didn’t want to be buying all those dip powders so I used regular gel polish with clear powder and it works fantastic. Just gives you extra strength to your nails.Thank you for the great video

      @@24kchefkimmy43 there’s a clear dip powder that you apply on your nails before one applies the color dip powder. She’s saying you can use that clear dip powder and just paint over it with a gel color instead of buying all new dip colors. I did this because I was new to dip and had a ton of gel colors that I needed to get use out of.

    Great tutorial! This method has been is slept on so thank you! To build an apex you just need to apply it like you would with regular dip method by painting 3/4 of the nail with gel and then pour powder and cure. As you continue application go a little bit closer to the cuticle each time and you should get a decent apex. If you want a more pronounced apex you could apply one strip of gel down the middle of the nail going about 3/4 of the way down and cure then follow the previous steps I mentioned. Even better if you slightly float the gel down the middle as opposed to just painting it on but you'd need to cure it quickly so it doesn't run all over the nail. Takes some practice and trial and error but a good apex can be achieved with this method.

    I just tried the original dip powder method yesterday. I usually use gel nail builder to shape my nails, but I’ve had this Kiara Sky kit forever and was curious. I like gel sooooo much better than acrylic so I might try this next time. I change my polish very often so I get my nail shaped, top it with a shiny gel top coat and then just use regular polish on top Of that. I use non-acetone remover to change color. I love it!

    You can still build an apex, you just build layer by layer in the center and go out from there. Your final layer (or 2 for a sheer color) is the only one that will cover the entire nail. The nails do come out a bit thicker but you can buff it out to even it and it makes it stronger bc of the apex.

      Thank you! I’ll be trying it next ☺️

      Shorter nails do not require an apex as such because there is no stress on the natural nail as there is with long nail enhancements.

  • @valeriemartin7316
    @valeriemartin7316 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You can do an apex with dip powders. I do it every time. 1st layer, you wipe off as much gel off the brush as you can and just put a thin dot where you want the highest point of the apex. 2nd layer is a little bigger and so on.

    OKAY IM SHOOK!
    I began to use dip a couple of months ago and would always seem to get sick. It would only really last a day or two so I didnt think anything of it.
    So when I stumbled upon this video and heard about dip flu !!!! I now know what is causing me to feel sick.
    THANK YOU !

    My question: I have never done any of this to my nails before, but I am ordering a dip kit from amazon. I have seen some people say that I need a gel nail tip builder, when using that type of nail tip and the dip system. Do I need to buy some and if so please tell me exactly what you'd recommend. Great job by the way! They turned out beautiful!

  • @impurezion

    It seems like most dip kits say no light is needed... can you still use one regardless? I love my light, just want to make sure.

    • @CharlizePerez
      @CharlizePerez  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends if you’re gonna do dip powder the normal traditional way which doesn’t need a light but the gel method that I showed in this video does! Hope that makes sense 🤍

    Wow, what a process! Loved the video! This is my first look into dip nails, what's the benefit of doing this instead of just gel polish? It seems like double the steps.

      I like doing dip nails because my natural nails are super thin and break very easily. The dip powder hardens and reinforces my nails! It also lasts for 3-4 weeks. I can never get my gel manis to last as long.

    • @CharlizePerez
      @CharlizePerez  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! It just doesn’t peel as easily as gel polish and adds a layer of strength to your natural nail so they don’t break easily! 💕

    I bought a dip kit but I accidentally got gel liquids instead of dip liquids! So I was a little disheartened but I have been allergic to nail treatments in the past something called Lumaé nails. So I think I’ll just do this instead thank you for the video appreciate it! 😻

    Hi, Im new to dip powders was wondering ,is the clear dip a must or could I just use the colors and a top coat? a lot ot the sets do not color me with the clear..so im trying to save a buck..thanks for the tutorial exactly what I was looking for ,new subscriber :)

    • @TracyCampanella
      @TracyCampanella 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, because otherwise, without the clear, when you file/buff to smooth the nail, you'll be filing off color, or wasting topcoat.

    Question. I have a set a dip powders that are beautiful, but chip easily. I contemplating returning them. My question is, does using the gel method add any strength to the nails, as opposed to the dip method with regular base coat?

    Why do some salons do dip with gel, in new york it’s dip power, colored dip and it’s not cured in a gel light, they use some product that instantly dries it.

  • @jeritaylor3363

    I saw you file the edges before you started. I did not see you file the tops of your nail where the tip meets your natural nail. How did you get the nail so smooth if you didn’t file tips of the nail?

    I’ve only ever applied dip powder with the liquids that usually come in it’s kit, so I’m super excited to try this! I didn’t even know this method was a thing 🤯 do you find that your nails are more flexible using gel liquids? I love dip, but the only downfall for me is if I hit my nail on something and the color cracks, my natural nail underneath cracks like a mirror 😫 I wonder if this gel/curing method could fix that for me

    Wow, beautiful! I'm new to dip powder.. do I need to buy a different one for each color you want your mani to be? Or can you use regular polish on top and then top it of with the gel top coat and then cure? I have nice natural nails and have only ever used regular polish but I'm trying to find something to use on top of my nails to make them more durable

    • @TracyCampanella
      @TracyCampanella 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use a gel topcoat after using regular polish, but be sure the polish is fully dry or when you do the gel topcoat, you risk it getting bubbly/crinkling up. I hope that helped
