    I played about 4 hours of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and I'm pleased to tell you that it's like a leaner, faster, more action-focused Nioh. If you wanted more variation than that, this won't be for you, but if you're down for more of what Team Ninja do best then this is shaping up to be a pretty safe purchase.

      @Cwavy_619 well first of all Nioh only has one difficulty, well my experience with Ninja gaiden was being grappled and having my health bar halfway down as soon as I load my save file so I said fuck that game lol so ridiculous
      In nioh you can grind your way out of a fight , like farming xp and leveling up or calling for help from randoms or with friend's. If you ever try it again, keep in mind that stamina in his game is very important, get in the habit of pressing r1 as soon as you finish attacking too activate a key pulse which restores your stamina and keep an eye on your enemy stamina because if you break theirs, you can get a critical hit. Experiment with weapons as you level up and gain more skill points the more you use a weapon and all the weapons are viable it's just depends on your preference. Personally I love the sword and kurigama.
      Blocking right as your enemy hits you helps lower their stamina.
      Hope this helps

      Nioh 2’s fight system is one of the best fight system that I have experienced but holy hell do they need better writers.

    I'm putting this comment down for my fellow Souls/Elden Ring lovers.
    After playing 400 hours of Elden Ring I turned to Nioh 1 and then 2 to fill that void. Simply put, that was one of the best decisions I've made. I felt so silly writing them off as souls-wannabes. In fact, after playing Nioh, I felt like this kind of combat is what I've been expecting to find in Souls games; deeper, more technical combat with variety of systems that do come together coherently (especially in Nioh 2).
    I also respectfully disagree with Skill up, in that the level designs are fine. Nothing special, but not worse than Souls games.
    I'm also excited for Wo Long, although it seems they've simplified things a lot since Nioh 2. The combat looks great still, which matters most.

    • @666FallenShadow
      @666FallenShadow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@siddharthshishulkar8992 i think it's an issue of expectations. from my point of view nioh and nioh 2 have more in common with something like devil may cry than they do with dark souls, most people don't complain about never getting lost in a DMC level because that's not the focus of those games, the combat is and it's the same thing with nioh. someone who goes into nioh with expectations of it being a souls-like will be disappointed by the more linear levels, but it's not an actual issue with the game because the game never claimed to have intricate levels

They're linear for this reason, you unlock shortcuts as you go so you can quickly move to and from specific encounters or to a quick way to the level boss. They fit with the design philosophy and plays to the fantasy of being a warrior on a battlefield. Calling it bad is like saying an open world game is bad because it's not a tight story-focused game or vice versa. You say as much but I think you construing "different" with "bad" here.

Levels have never been this big, Team Ninja have moved the setting to Three Kingdoms China which changes a lot of things thematically and mechanically. They finally streamlined the systems which people have been asking about for years, stamina/ki is gone to let you attack more agressively, the ability to jump has changed level design as well as combat, a new and original morale system has been implemented, the incredible character creator is back with even more customization. As a Chinese, can confirm Wo Long only about 30 percent accurate to the Historic Chinese Three Kingdom era setting. Japanese game developers love to death about this era for some reason (just think how many Dynasty warriors games out there), they definitely over romanticize and fantasize in this game in particular.
    However nobody's mad about the historic accuracy, this game is cool af. So don't bother to google how to pronounce how each character 's name should be pronounced, I'm sure even the developer are botching their names for the most part.
    But if you are curious about the title: Wo Long. It means "Crouching Dragon" , you know, like the award-winning film: "Crouching tiger hidden dragon". Usually meant to describe people with incredible background/skills but with humble appearance. I guess this is used to describe the player.
    Anyways, good stuff, hyped af.

      The whole 'wuxia' genre (for want of a better term), already has a pretty decent following over here in the West & Chinese mythology has a fantastic lore so I'm definitely looking forward to playing this. • @5inque_wu
      @5inque_wu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jubei7259 I was thinking the same thing, if they nail the mandarin voice over, this would be perfect for what it is.
      Knowing Koei Tecmo, I think the best they can do is implementing Chinese (simplified/traditional) subtitles with decent Japanese/English voice over. Good Chinese voice actors are hard to come by for Japanese/Western studios in general. If you ever played spiderman on ps5, you would know. That was the most soulless Chinese voice over I have ever seen/heard.
      Only few live service f2p games (namely overwatch and apex legends) have seriously good Chinese voice actors working for them. Single player games, unless developed by Chinese studios, usually don't get that kind of treatment.

    'Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty' is the ultimate sword fighting game. Besides, the sword fighting was really excellent, and the movement speed of the main character and the attack speed of swords, double swords, and weapons were also incredibly fast, and each sword was strong. It's not easy to get a good feel for a sword fight with such a fast attack speed, but it's great that you've succeeded in all of that.
    If you attack the enemy with a sword, the blade will be covered with blood, and if you fight, it will be bloody.
    And above all else, the attack speed, battle speed, and battle tempo of the battle were very fast, and even the enemy attack was very fast. Besides, I don't know if the enemy's 'A.i' was excellent or because of the discipline system, but each enemy was a normal soldier, so he was very strong like the final boss.
    Overall, the combat power of all soldiers in the 'Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty' game is the best in the world. very good at fighting Every single soldier is like a user. They were the strongest of the real swords, and the battles were really speedy, but never easy. But what's important is that it's not just insanely difficult, but the enemies are so powerful that even though it's difficult, the battles are fun to the point of being crazy.
    Anyway, the difficult difficulty is by far the world's strongest among the soul-like genres.

    The main problem i have with Nioh and more so with Nioh 2 (Maybe Nioh 2 that im currently playing just feels this way because of Elden Ring coming this year) Is the Feeling of combat and the feedback when hitting enemies, The stamina early game is also a problem for me as you have to rely on the mechanic were you press a button to earn back some of that lost stamina (Ki) but it leaves you sat for a second and with some enemies having quick and also pretty short moves it feels a bit unfair. This gets better when certain skills become available but for the first 2hrs it can be rough. I Love the games regardless of these faults and some of the heavier weapons have a bit more punch, The enemies are great and the maps are fine for me as it feels alot like the Ps2 style i craze from games like Onimushi.

      One tip homie, get the "Running Water" skills from the Samurai tree (Theres one for each stance), it lets you ki pulse with a well-timed dodge instead of having to stand still and press R1.. Def the way to go!

      @@atsyed87 Thanks for the help brother, But i already do have that skill and the game feels alot better. Just feels like i had to grit my teeth for 2hrs until i got it

      Yh ki pulse is a risk reward...it leaves you sitting for a moment so you have to know when to keep pushing and when to back off..

      @@shizukousapostle1stapostle710 Yea but even if I choose to dash out before risking another swing then you still get punished. Dammed if you do Dammed if you don’t. Think they should have made you recover Ki by dashing from start as a core skill.

    the hell? this is not Nioh, just played the demo today - other than being made by the same developer, this has no resemblance of Nioh. what a crap review.
    If this is Nioh, sekiro is dark souls with jumping

    I actually thought this was a little more user friendly version of nioh and I really liked it. It was fun and a little more forgiving, granted it was just a demo so we'll see what happens when it releases.

    When I first saw the game I thought it would be Team Ninjas take on Sekiro like Nioh was their take on Dark Souls. But looking at this that really doesn't seem to be the case other than some common elements. This looks more like an evolution from the Nioh games themselves.

      It definitely feels like a lovechild between Sekiro and Nioh.

    That's a good thing. Nioh 2 still has the best action RPG combat system in the industry. If Wo Long can surpasss it, then by all means LET'S!!!

  • @mohammadalirashed3103
    @mohammadalirashed3103 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, all the changes in this game are exactly what I wanted from Nioh. Scrapping the stance system and streamlining combat, less focus on loot drops and less time in menu screens, jump button and more incentive to explore the level.

    • @thedoomslayer5863
      @thedoomslayer5863 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a more cut the bullshit, and focus on the combat sekiro style.
      And I love it. Those games ALWAYS have the best gameplay.
      Leave stats and items and all that fluff for RPGs and MMOs

    I absolutely loved Nioh 2, it has some of the best action combat I've played. Decently intrigued by this one (I'll definitely play it), but man I am really looking forward to Rise of the Ronin. I've watched that trailer 10 times already lol.

    Every year for the past few years I've seen games that I think "oh damn, I can't wait to see this at the next AGDQ.". This year we've gotten two of those games for me, the last one was Sifu, and now Wo Long is the second I'll be looking for at upcoming AGDQs.
