The "combo" in those gameplay reels is just attacking, stopping and dodging backwards, manually aiming your ranged weapon at an enemy, and then dashing back in to attack. It isn't a combo at all.
This game definitely doesn't' have bad graphics. The immense amount of details are visible. I THINK IT'S THE LIGHTING, I THINK THE MATERIALS ARE NOT ACCURATE PBR MATERIALS, which enables accurate light interactions. Believe it or not, after details, light is what makes these games feel next gen
It certainly helps. There is a reason raytracing was such a big focus early in this generation. It's still around, but doesn't get as much attention now since we are still at a point where it ends up being a choice between getting those effects and framerates.
Definitely! Not an artist and couldn’t pin point what it was myself, thanks for putting it into words. And the colors look weirdly desaturated as well, I doubt it’s a artistic choice, does that have to do with lighting as well?
lighting artists do choose color and temperature of the source lights and do have hand in color grading as well. How ever, the desaturated environment you mentioned, could be the choice of shader/texture artists as well. we will never know I guess

They are very different games, to be honest. Do you like Samurais or medieval band diverse fantasy? Do you like Open world with markers or completely without? Etc etc. both look very good, so far, even with skill up’s dislike or Ronin.
What is the point of a lot of you guys watching these reviews if you’re just gonna go “still getting it day 1” or “still preordering” If you’re that determined to buy a game no matter what then why watch and why feel the need to let everyone know you’re making silly purchases
it feels like the specials after already doing some damage doesn't kill even the more basic enemy, put a katana inside the ribcage and he is still alive.
And how much action or hack n' slash games that fights humans you've seen doesn't work the exact same? In Sekiro for example, some human enemies you fight requires you to thrust the katana on their necks or chests for 3 times before they finally dies.
A bit late to mention, hopefully someone else did, but based on SkillUp saying the performance wasn't great, keep in mind Wo Long had a catastrophic PC launch that still isn't fixed entirely to this day. @@inukaiversus My biggest disappointments with Wo Long were that the ki system they had invalidated like 90% of the options you had. Weirdly, I've never been expecting this to be in line with their other games. Honestly, what first came to mind ever since I saw that initial preview was a different IP in general. Acquire's Way of the Samurai series. From what I've seen from all of the different previews, that's actually what it seems more in tone with.

I don’t know when the infamous horse animation will popup, so I am sort of laughing on every scene that features the horse running, still funny I gotta say
Instead of building off the foundation of Nioh, they keep simplifying in hopes of attracting a larger, more casual audience. Totally losing what made Nioh such a success in the process. This is the 3rd game in a row now post Nioh, making the same mistakes. I honestly don't get it.

I'm sorry but Ghost of Tsushima open world wasn't more interesting at all that what you are describing here, it was also a bunch of bandit camp to clear and very repetitive, very small side content that could be over with a press of 3 buttons most of the time. Frankly i don't understand at all how someone can praise the heck out of Tsushima but criticise this game for doing exactly the same thing : copying the assassin's Creed formula because it works and it's popular.
The more I've seen about this game, the more it reminds me of PC Wo Long and makes me want to give it a hard pass. Nioh is one of my favorite games and still feels like their best game. The moment PC Ghost of Tsushima was announced, my money for this game disappeared mysteriously.
I learnt long ago not to trust previews and reviews of games that I'm excited about. So many examples come to mind where I've completely disagreed with certain reviews and opinions that I don't know why I still bother watching them. This video has done nothing to expel my excitement for this game.
And why dose this person keep referring to ghost of tsushima I now they look similar and the game play is similar but they are not they are both different and I can tell you if this game was identical to ghost of tsushima people would still moan and say it the same and it would get boring after a while. And I mean no harm this is not a hate coment. Great video btw
I've only played elden ring as a souls game and one thing I've noticed is that you're not able to see actual movement in combat because everything is happening so fast in their games while in elden ring you can clearly see and react both your and enemies' moves
Well yah but Nioh isn't a copy of souls games, it's a souls like. I think most people will agree Nioh 2 has the best combat of the genre but it's just different is all. You still do everything you'd do in a souls game's combat just faster and with much more depth and a much higher skill ceiling.
This actually sold me on checking out the game. No switching stances like GoT? Yes please. AI recruitment? Yeah. Easy mode for busy ass older gamer who doesn’t always “git gud?” Thank you.

This comment gives me a lot of hope, I feel like Nioh 2 and Wo-Long started off quite rough also but get better as you progress.
@@mitchh5596 Yeah, pretty much. If you haven't I recommend watching the Behind the Scenes videos for this game. You catch some glimpses of what the game is like past the first few hours, and it does seem like there's so much more than the parry and strike gameplay we've been seeing.
The "combo" in those gameplay reels is just attacking, stopping and dodging backwards, manually aiming your ranged weapon at an enemy, and then dashing back in to attack. It isn't a combo at all.
I don’t

This game definitely doesn't' have bad graphics. The immense amount of details are visible. I THINK IT'S THE LIGHTING, I THINK THE MATERIALS ARE NOT ACCURATE PBR MATERIALS, which enables accurate light interactions.
Believe it or not, after details, light is what makes these games feel next gen
It certainly helps. There is a reason raytracing was such a big focus early in this generation. It's still around, but doesn't get as much attention now since we are still at a point where it ends up being a choice between getting those effects and framerates.
I've been thinking the same. The lighting is terribly simplistic.

Between a PC with a 2080 Ti and a 4090, I think he has said, if SkillUp isn't getting good framerates and there is no using his own captured footage, that is a very foreboding formula.

Only thing that improved from Wo Long is the character creation.
@@inukaiversus My biggest disappointments with Wo Long were that the ki system they had invalidated like 90% of the options you had.
