A few of my most interesting experiences with trying to find a new band member:
-A drummer that couldn't play the simplest AC/DC drum beat
-A bassist that couldn't play Smells like Teen Spirit or even tune the bass, and later claimed that he was drunk and destroyed his bass but he will get a new one.. And he didn't ofc
-A vocalist that claimed that he sings like Nick Cave, Neil Young and Ian Curtis but on the rehearsal he didn't give a shit about the tempo and he had the most horrible voice I've ever heard. Also, he couldn't even use a mic stand and it fell over on the drumset.
-Countless guys that were excited about our band and then stopped responding the messages.
Good to have a stable team lol.

I have a band wirh a drummer without drums a extra guitarist that never played a random kid with a keyboard and me who started it al😂

Isn’t it amazing at how hard it is to get a group of people together to rock. Had a singer who was trying out, I usually give guys a few weeks just so I can get a good feel for them. This guy kept turning the pa down so no one could hear him sing. I finally made a recording where I could hear him and I realized why it was turned down. Guy went nuts afterwards and I had to get the cops involved.

My band tried to find a singer, then we found none and got a saxophone.
After he left we got still no singer, so we got a second drumset instead. I am the first drummer and it was a learning experience, even fun at times, but I was happy when it was over.
Then we got a singer but she didn't like to sing in front of people, including us and she didn't even sing rock or punk stuff, so she left quicky.
Well, now we are getting a second bass next and our current bass wants to start singing. This can only turn out well.

I used to be in a punk rock band with the prodigy drummer. He was undoubtly better than the rest of us combined, but just too good for what we wanted to play. During the show it almost seemed like he didn't care what we're playing, he was just doing his own 45 minute long drum solo. Still love the dude though

Jonathan Sefcik and my school just hosted a talent show audition on Wednesday. The results will be coming eventually but with my amazing performance of The Islander by Nightwish, I'm sure I'll make it. If I don't it's probably either because of my shit memory of the lyrics or because not only is it a metal song but it's not very popular in the eyes of anyone outside of Finland. My crush auditioned too and she's basically gurranteed to get in, the problem then would be making the show.
Nightly Horrors They were a John Mayer-esque bluesy/alternative band who wanted a bassist for some songwriting and university studio recording. A few weeks later they told me they decided to take a more digital direction for this process and wouldn't need a physical bass player right now.
