What I don't get about Lars is that he messes up on a simple triplet rhythm, but he gets hit in the face by a giant black ball on a more complicated groove and doesn't miss a damn beat.
He's an unpredictable player for sure. At some shows he's really amazing and on point while at others he gets sloppy.
At this point, he's an ass who has the muscle memory with little practice anymore, he probably ensures he has one part (the complex ones) and then stops giving a shit. Actually, this is interestingly a common thing among artists who don't much care for the art, screw simple shit up, master the harder crap.
His issue is with consistency. Besides, maybe when he was hit by the ball, they were using a drum track to make sure he couldn't fuck up.
And where are those "complicate grooves" in Metallica ?
Nah actually Lars could at all not play in Metallica. He is partial owner and he is doing pretty much everything but drumming in between concerts.

About "complicated grooves" and what not. Urlich is actually one of precursors of such fast and complicated drums(he experimented with drums styles from album to album but he never tried to master any style). Nowadays we get 1000bpm hyper technical 30 element drum kit guys :P

For the mother and baby one, I believe in the full version, the mother didn't know the wall of death, so she was unaware. However, a bunch of metal heads surrounded her and guided her out safely with the child. It was actually super wholesome to see a bunch of metal heads doing that, especially in a wall of death.
I disagree, it should definitely not be that surprising. Nothing should be more important than a mother holding her baby in danger in situations like that, it's just basic humanity if anything.
@@drvren030 I was saying it was surprising to see a wall of death metal fans protect the mother and the baby. Typically you see violence in mosh pits. Kicks, punches, etc. But this instance was the opposite. There is a full version of it some where on yt.
