@Sosa Scar - I guess you mean about the buck overnight? Oki, firstly light would have been fading and butchering in the field takes time, so you gotta leave it out there sometimes. In those areas though, leaving a dead animal on the ground overnight subjects it to potentially being attended to by coyotes, wolves and bears. Joe rogan is a scholar with his podcast and interviews , a warrior with his many years in martial arts , and hes an outdoors man as well true inspiration.
I could watch and listen to Steve all day. Very insightful and full of knowledge.
Important to know: this was 8 years ago.
yeah I was wondering. Rogan hasn't said anything about Callen for a few months since things started going haywire for him

Man, Steve saw passion in Joe and knew, he called it "Today's student is tomorow's ally!". With hunters and advocates like them, hunting culture is save in the near future!
Hunting will never go extinct
So cool to look back at where it all started for Joe and experience it with him. Steve is such an awesome ambassador of the outdoors and hunting!
Showing Joe's face after he killed the buck was a powerful moment. You could see the emotion welling up inside him from taking his first kill.
This wasn’t his first kill maybe on that land Joe has been hunting for 8-10 years he always goes after elk and moose
@@chrismcdonald6554 Oh, it wasn't? But why does Steve's intro mention that this was their first hunt?

Apologies you are correct sir!!
Definitely not his first kill, he usually only bow hunts elk, moose, antelope and deer

Awesome episode, you can see why Joe has gotten so into hunting. Thats an experience anyone would be lucky to have
Joe looks like a little kid following his Dad around for his first hunt. Love it!
“ I love you” “ love you buddy” so wholesome
“Too left wing” 😂😂
Pretty sure hes wearing it backwards too🤣
You can actually see how quickly he became insecure once Steve mentioned it.
Really who cares. I think its cute
Man Joe you are so fortunate to have had your first hunt like that.Well done.Felt this one in the heart and could see on Joes face he did too.Well done to your guide....what a guy
I thought Joe's been hunting for years? I'm confused by this
This is old asf
Old hunt.
But I’m glad this was uploaded recently.

When is this episode moving exclusively to Spotify? I need time to prepare...
For JRE? Or this guys show? JRE is already exclusive on Spotify

I do ..I dont want to watch it now
@FC so are you (I’m saying that Bc I know as much ab you personally as you know ab him)
Hands down my favorite hunting show. Way to go Meat Eater Crew!
“He’s one of the most stand up guys you could meet in the woods” basically saying he’s a good shot and shuts up 😂
I was so hoping that this was a new episode but still excited to watch it again
Damn Rinella's a real one. Joe hasn't had Bryan on the JRE since the accusations, even though they are "best friends", yet Rinella isn't afraid to upload the episode to youtube. Well done.
True af. Bryan needs to come on the podcast. He is the funniest dude ever.
Spotify bought JRE. They have a say in who can come on the show. As any big corporation they would never have Bryan on, even tho its only accusations.
@@vincentnielsen3826 Yea, thats what I dont understand, Joe always made a point of saying he has his own show so he can do what he wants. Except for the money, I don't understand why he went to spotify.
Cuz now he has to represent the company.

I get Joes side of it then, but f*ck man, no ones worth that. Especially when a lot of his "content" is other celebrities talking about themselves. 100 million just to have his podcast, that is disgusting. .. .
Joe when he gets a good shot on the animals: ooooh hes out!!
"He's hurt! He's hurt!"😂
This was one of my favorites. Loved it the then loved seeing it again.!
Great to see Bryan Callen and Joe! I never got to see these earlier episodes when they were first aired.
This is one of my favorite parts of MeatEater series. Taking someone who’s never been out before and they are taking it like a kid on his first hunt. They’re having fun and taking everything in, the emotions Joe & The Kid showed in their harvests remind me of the first time I went and the first time I took someone deer hunting. Amazing adventure they got to go on, as opposed to sitting on a feeder in Texas 😁
As a hunter that was awesome to watch you can see the emotion in his eyes when he's spined the buck. That can freak some people out but he took it like a man the funniest thing about the whole video was watching him with his hat on backwards the whole second day hunt
You don't want to lose your animal to predators, so you string it out of reach until you can get back to it.
Steve. I can't get enough of these brother.
16:50 “But it’s very hard to camouflage skylines movements” yeah it’s also hard to camouflage in orange high vis
Deer are color blind and can't see orange
"Now I know why people raise cows"

Funniest line of the show!
Kudos to Joe. I remember the sheer exhilaration I've felt when I took my first buck.
It's sad when you think you get a nice kill shot and you get up there and see it wounded just kills everything, and it's painful to see, but like he said no matter who it's happened to everyone. Glad to see everything always get used and such a good host
When is part two man? Love these episodes with them. Love em all. But it's cool to see this
I love the scramble to get the right camera angles and body positioning this whole ep so that joe rogan doesnt look so short

Kept expecting Joe to do play by play but he’s a proper woodsman.
To get someone's reaction the first time they kill something is a crazy thought. Especially being a grown man..and joe handled it so well.
This Joe guy has a preety sweet voice. He should have a podcast or something.

Takes one back in time for sure.
I have followed both men in their respective careers for quite a while, and after enjoying this incredible video, I have so much more respect for both guys despite having a lot to begin with. Rogan took this experience as serious as any of Steve's guests; he more than paid his dues & put in a genuine effort to earn his opportunity & a chance to be successful; and perhaps most impressive, he dropped his first buck with a single shot having NEVER hunted before, like he was a seasoned hunter & experienced marksman. Friggin' impressive! And Steve held another masterclass in pretty much every aspect of what it takes to be a successful hunter, & why he is so damn good at what he does. And he ain't done done - there's a magnificent meal of venison to be had!
Calen trying to walk while glassing killed me 😂
This is so cool! We need more of this going on. Congrats on a great buck Joe!

Been looking for this episode. Glad its out now.
Day 13 on a pure carnivore diet after 2 years on a veggie/fish/chicken diet which was so bad my body was getting sicker so watching dr.JornPeterson I decided to go out on a limb and try a BIG change so time will tell but I'm feeling a lot better this morning writing this. I hunted at 13 with my brothers and father on our reserve and ate everything just to survive as store meat was so expensive. I'm going back home to hunt again and try the new cross-bred Beefelow(Beef-Bison mix and consume as much as I can at 63 I pray it will help me I'm so close to swallowing a bullet most days. Vegies are killing me and bad food.Time will tell so TY guys for the video I'm off to get me some Elk and Venison this weekend =) stay safe always~

@Gorgeous George You would starve if youd have to raise your own food or grow your own crops. They actually had to work hard for that successful hunt. Soft people like you are a byproduct of a world without hard struggle, good for you. But ignorant nontheless.
@Gorgeous George
Never hunted in my life but population control is a real thing simply because our ancestors almost eradicated all the other predators who kept the population down.
This isnt exactly hard to understand and you might not like hunting or eating meat but dont be willfully ignorant on topics such as conservation.
Im willing to bet these hunters have more love and respect for these animals you ever will
@Gorgeous George that's such a naive thing to say.
@Gorgeous George Hunters and fishermen don't "Enjoy killing" we just don't feel the need to hide ourselves from the reality of our existence. Really seems like you're talking about something you have no experience doing and making ignorant assumptions.
