10/10 Boom, baby! "The Emperor's New Groove" is a rare hilarious Disney movie. It's very different from any other Disney movie so this movie might also be very watchable to you Disney haters out there. The movie pace is incredibly high and the music by John Debney and Sting are a real surprise. The movie really is a non-stop hilarious comedy with some unique humor. Also the style, both visual and story-wise is different from any other previous Disney movie, which in this case is a positive thing. The characters are great. Kuzco and Pacha are a perfect team. Yzma is a remarkable villain and her sidekick Kronk is hilarious. Yep, Laughs are guaranteed in this very hip and hilarious movie! The story really is of no importance and most of it never makes sense but that's also why this movie is both unique and hilarious to watch over and over again. Highly recommendable to everyone! 10/10
Guys, you forgot to rate this movie out of ten I think. Just to add something: it's an hilarious comedy, yes, but it's also one of the best vilain redemption story out there. Cause it's believable every step of the way.
Of all the movies they could turn into a live action film…Atlantis is the one I feel they could get away with the most. Side note the water fall bring it on scene has got to be the best thing to come out of this film
Yeah I could see atlantis. It has the most realistic art style, is lighter on the comedy (compared to this) and is a classic adventure and Atlantis could look incredible if it is animated well. It also relies less on it being animated. Most classic Disney movies rely a lot on them being animated and have a lot of things that are hard to pull off in "live-action" (aka mostly bluescreen).
They kinda already did. It’s called Stargate Atlantis. Don’t believe me? Milo=Daniel Jackson. ……who, admittedly, isn’t _in_ Atlantis very much, but still. He was the reason it was found, so close enough.
This movie is freaking hilarious. Eartha Kitt's performance as Yzma will never get old, Kuzco and Pacha's friendship has grown, Kronk always make me laugh and Pacha's wife is pregnant throughout the entire movie 😢😢😢🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
What’s amazing about this movie is….well, just about everything, but specifically, this is your run of the mill Disney animated movie, with only ONE song. Disney is notorious for making their movies musicals, for better or worse, but this has only one song in the whole film. It was gonna have so many more, apparently, and I’m glad it didn’t. It allowed for more comedy and interactions.
Funny story: in the 4th grade one of my classmates was like a walking tv. He'd make weird buzzing sounds and seem to go into a sudden trance while quoting scenes from movies and stuff in an announcer voice. The lines from this movie are forever stuck in my head because of him.

Fun fact this movie was made really fast and with very limited oversight and the script was never officially approved. So they just put the movies in the theaters without making a lot changes. The writers would just add the random things (trampoline) and it all went into the final cut. Its why the movie is so unhinged but also comedic gold, because no one limited the writers.
30:10 You skipped a moment I wanted to say something about. When Kronk wakes up Izma she said it better be good, in latam spanish, the actress improvized by saing she was dreaming with Ricky, Ricky Martin.
Oh my god that's great 😂 In the french version, she says " I hope you have a good excuse " and in the french canadian version (I saw the two) she says " You better have a good excuse "
It's a crying shame that Yzma's Lab isn't a ride at Disney! Imagine people get in, you hear "Pull the lever, Kronk..." and the ride slides BACKWARDS. "WRONG LEVER!"
When John Goodman plays a bad guy, he's terrifying. He plays an amazing and seriously underrated villain in 10 Cloverfield Lane. It's easy to forget what a huge dude he is until you see him looming over a young girl chained up in his basement bunker. A better known movie where Goodman plays a badman is Oh Brother Where Art Thou.
I like this movie too and I seen it when I was little and it's my favorite movie from my childhood and it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and it's still a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right
I actually remember liking the spinoff show a lot as a kid. It had a few odd retcons just so the premise would work but it was funny. Kuzco and Kronk are teenagers and Kuzco has to graduate high school before he can reclaim his Emperor status and I think he lives with Pacha's family in the meantime. It sort of changes the dynamic between Kuzco and Pacha from unlikely friends to foster family which works really well if I'm being honest. Also Kuzco falls for a pretty nerd girl and Yzma does everything in her power to keep him from graduating. I think my favorite thing about that show was that it had a little bit of continuity before that was really a common thing in animated shows. There wasn't a huge amount of it but there were moments where you could tell that Kuzco had experienced character growth. Honestly it's surprising how many spinoff shows are actually good. I mean you expect them to be cheap cash grabs and some of them are but a lot of them are genuinely well written. Aladdin had a pretty good spinoff too if I'm remembering correctly. And How to Train Your Dragon had like 8 seasons of adventures that really fleshed out it's characters and world. Then there's the Tangled series which definitely takes the cake.
John Goodman is currently one of the leads in the HBO show "the righteous gemstones" great comedy show with Danny Mcbride and Adam Devine also starring in it along side him
I don't know if it's inspired by or if it's coincidental, but Yzma and Kronk going down the secret mine cart and ending up in their labcoats, reminds me of the 60s Batman show. For those under 60, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson go down a secret passage, and appear in their costumes. AND Eartha Kitt (Yzma) was one of the beautiful ladies to play Catwoman.
Fun fact! This movie didn't have a script, they just "made the movie" and when asked for the script for archiving purposes (after it had already been released) they just cobbled together what notes and storyboards they had and called it a day. So the first script for this was made AFTER it was already being screened in the cinemas. The whole making of this movie is so interesting tbh look it up
This movie may be a "cult" hit in North America, but here in Latin America this movie was *THE* 2000's Disney movie for a lot of us as kids, if you mention this movie to anyone over 25 there's a 90% chance they'll know it and even some dialogues about it.

Patrick Warburton does show up in a decent number of tv shows everything from family guy to kids cartoons. my favorite roll of his has to be Brock Sampson from Venture bros. though, it being the deconstruction of hanababara age cartoons like johnny quest, scooby-doo, and the like lines him up for the roll he delivers best on, definitely recommend the show if you haven't seen it.
Disney famously didn't market Atlantis: The Lost Empire AT ALL. Same with Treasure Planet. Both ended up as Cult Classics, but they didn't make any money because Disney didn't do anything to convince people to see them.
Ever since 2000 began, Disney decided to explore making animated films not focused on musicals. Emperor’s New Groove proved to be the animated comedy that was greatly inspired from Looney Tunes Fourth wall-breaking humor!

I've been kicking open doors and yelling " Boom Baby!!!!!" Since this movie dropped lol

You know what I just realized? I never noticed this but you know how pacha and Kuzco were looking through the bottles to find the human potion? You ever hear the line, “lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!” And Pacha literally listed all those animals and Yzma finished it 😂 I can’t. It’s so silly.

Boom, baby!
10/10
Yup, this movie is a 10/10
Guys, you forgot to rate this movie out of ten I think.
I saw the live action Atlantis movie. It was called Stargate
@@Ragnarok345 James Spader was live action Milo YEARS before Milo was created

The Emperor's New Groove is one of those movies that gets better the older you get.
This movie is freaking hilarious. Eartha Kitt's performance as Yzma will never get old, Kuzco and Pacha's friendship has grown, Kronk always make me laugh and Pacha's wife is pregnant throughout the entire movie
😢😢😢🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
Kuzco and Kronk were such great characters to watch when I was younger! The TV show that takes place after this movie was so good!
Kronk is the ultimate Himbo character.
i love him.
7:41 - 7:51 My part favorite of movie: Pull The Lever, Kronk. WRONG LEVEEEEER 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's the first thing my little sister mentionned after seeing the movie.
Except that in the french version, Yzma shouts " Not this oooone !!!! "
I think it's great in the end that Kuzco didn't get what he wanted for his birthday but got something even better; a family
I love how they play on the bumbling henchman archetype by making Kronk one of the snarkier characters.
Funny story: in the 4th grade one of my classmates was like a walking tv. He'd make weird buzzing sounds and seem to go into a sudden trance while quoting scenes from movies and stuff in an announcer voice. The lines from this movie are forever stuck in my head because of him.
that’s terrifying
I haven't even started, but I hope the cat laugh scene is in this. I nearly died laughing at that as a kid. I remember sitting and rewinding the movie over and over because my kid self was crying laughing.
Score. They included it.
*Ahh, hahaha... I win.*
This is what i called, an underated gem
It's a gem, but it's not that underrated. Most people recognise it as the funniest Disney classic.
@@leovk5779it's underrated in the fact that it didn't do very well in the box office. It's humor was certainly well ahead of it's time, & in the last decade it's definitely seen a resurgence, but I would still call it a cult classic like The Nightmare Before Christmas is.
It’s not underrated this is one of the most famous Disney movies of all time and it is always referenced you can’t have a icon like kronk in your movie and call it underrated
This movie is so underrated! I love this movie!
Fun Fact: The old man that "threw off the emperor's groove" is voiced by the original voice actor for Piglet in "Winnie the Pooh!"
It's one of Disneys best animated movies and it's so sad that we no longer get good movies from disney anymore. 😢
Just off the top of my head, John Goodman's "villain roles" include:
~ The honey lawyer in "The Bee Movie"
~ The senator in "Evan Almighty"
~ Coach Harris in "Revenge of the Nerds"
~ Potter (the exterminator) in "The Borrowers"
Santa in Futurama.
he's super scary in 10 Cloverfield Lane
The neighbour in BARTON FINK.
5:16 About the Spinoff, John Goodman actually returned to voice Pacha in the second season.
I believe pretty much every voice of the main cast returned for the spinoff aside from David Spade.
The thing about Kuzko being the way he is is that he's only 16. Dude still has a lot of growing up to do and he has to do all that without parents
and Yzma rasiing at that point
Actually 17. Yzma mentions that it was the eve of his 18th birthday at his "funeral"
Easily one of the most underrated movies to come out of the early 2000s.
This is my all-time classic Disney movies and I watched this when it was in theaters and I still watch it to this day. It’s funny it’s family friendly and has the best actors for each characters!!!!
13:12 I AM SO HAPPY YOU GOT THAT RIGHT AWAY! I didn't realize until a while into watching Owl House, and then watching someone else react to this movie. So cool!
So there was not only a sequel (Kronk’s New Groove)- But yes, The TV show you all mentioned “The Emperors New School” Which was only set up to run for two seasons, and completed both. It did have not only Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton not to mention John Goodman.
16:34 The deranged look on the squirrels face makes me laugh every time
John Goodman played Robot Santa in Futurama and Vice Dean Robert Laybourne in Community. Both were comedic characters but I would also call them evil.
He was Big Dan Teague (aka The Cyclops) in "O Brother, Where Art Thou"
TIL he voiced Robot Santa…!
The spin off series you are referring to is The Emporer's New School, which aired on the disney channel.
The cactus that Yzma pours the drink on turns into a llama! I loved this movie growing up and never noticed it for years until one of my friends pointed it out several years ago.
I absolutely loves Disney’s direction for this movie. This is pretty much Disneys parody of their own movies.
Low-key the funniest Disney movie.
I like this movie and I seen it when I was little and it's my favorite movie from my childhood and it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and it's still a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right
It’s def the funniest one imo
No it's not this movie is definitely not funny one not to me
Such a gem of a movie. So many quotable lines.
“Break it down? It’s hand-carved mahogany.” 😂
"Pull the lever Kronk"
*click*
"WRong ʟᴇᵛᵉʳ!!!!!"
Why do we even have that lever!? Out of my way!
18:58 John Goodman villain role: Cyclops in "O' Brother where art thou"
Hangover part 3
16:32 The Squirrel's menacing eyes 😂
30:10 You skipped a moment I wanted to say something about. When Kronk wakes up Izma she said it better be good, in latam spanish, the actress improvized by saing she was dreaming with Ricky, Ricky Martin.
Oh my god that's great 😂
In the french version, she says " I hope you have a good excuse " and in the french canadian version (I saw the two) she says " You better have a good excuse "
It's a crying shame that Yzma's Lab isn't a ride at Disney!
Imagine people get in, you hear "Pull the lever, Kronk..." and the ride slides BACKWARDS.
"WRONG LEVER!"
Holy shit, I CANNOT BELIEVE I NEVER NOTICED THIS,
32:52 - Lions, Tigers, Bears "Oh, my!"
THAT'S FROM THE WIZARD OF OZ!
The one problem with this movie is that they cut “Snuff out the light”. That song fucks hard
Oh I love this movie
Me and my family watched this movie millions of times.
Same, I was about to say haha

32:59 "how did she get back so quick?"
Asking the right questions at the right moment.
You can insult Kronk for his intelligence till the cows come home. But insulting the spinach puffs, she just made it personal.
The fact that this film wasn't a hit and is underrated and surprisingly unknown by many is a TRAVESTY!!! =P
At about 18:30 you guys ask if John Goodman is ever a villain. He sure was in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou! And he was questionable in The Big Lebowski.
John Goodman is currently one of the leads in the HBO show "the righteous gemstones" great comedy show with Danny Mcbride and Adam Devine also starring in it along side him
5:54 I second the Atlantis the lost empire suggestion. Great movie. 👍
Interesting to note: Since the setting of this movie takes place in Peru, that makes Emperor Kuzco next door neighbors to the Madrigals of Colombia.
this movie in spanish slaps so hard 😂 is a childhood favorite
"It seems like they only hate Ducktales"
"Same, honestly"
HOW DARE.
Fun fact! This movie didn't have a script, they just "made the movie" and when asked for the script for archiving purposes (after it had already been released) they just cobbled together what notes and storyboards they had and called it a day. So the first script for this was made AFTER it was already being screened in the cinemas. The whole making of this movie is so interesting tbh look it up
Wow, that's great
This movie may be a "cult" hit in North America, but here in Latin America this movie was *THE* 2000's Disney movie for a lot of us as kids, if you mention this movie to anyone over 25 there's a 90% chance they'll know it and even some dialogues about it.
This is the one movie where I can quote the whole script by heart. It’s that much of a masterpiece.
10:00
Look at the plant behind Yzma after she dumps her drink into it. It’s a Llama too
i'm so glad you guys reacted to this. this movie has had my heart since i was a kid and im so happy you guys are finding it hysterical as well. so many memes came from it too
Glad you guys enjoyed this movie
"Reason number 2: Look what I can do."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"No, no. He's got a point."
This movie has so many iconic lines 😂
I especially like kuzco and his sarcastic sassy lines
He forgot 'your role has become redundant'. Also Wendy Malik is Pacha's(John Goodman) wife.
"...and once I found the body, I'd eat the meat." Thank god I wasn't drinking, because I would have spit all over my keyboard. Ya'll crack me up.
This is in my top 5 fave Disney movies of all time. Absolutely hilarious 😂❤❤ so rewatchable
Fun fact yzma had a song called snuff out the light but was cut after the movie was overhauled from its original vision
That Willie Nelson line was so clever and really funny 😂😂
Disney famously didn't market Atlantis: The Lost Empire AT ALL. Same with Treasure Planet. Both ended up as Cult Classics, but they didn't make any money because Disney didn't do anything to convince people to see them.
OMG I literally was about to comment this movie during your next vid uploaded 😂😂
Omg IS that Eda’s voice actress (like 2 decades prior to TOH)?! That’s amazing! Her voice sounds nearly identical!
Ever since 2000 began, Disney decided to explore making animated films not focused on musicals. Emperor’s New Groove proved to be the animated comedy that was greatly inspired from Looney Tunes Fourth wall-breaking humor!
When I got my first paycheck I got this movie one of the best purchases of my life!
Kronk was pitching a tent. Some of that old Disney adult humor.
Out of curiosity I just looked up some stuff. Pacha just swung a 300-400 lb animal with one arm. Maybe because Kuzco was a teen before becoming a llama he might have weighed less, but still, what are they feeding Pacha? 😂
In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, instead of "scary beyond all reason", they call Yzma "uglier than a scythe fight", and I love it
If I remember well of the french version, it's " horrible and scary " or maybe it was the french canadian version (I saw the two versions)
