There's a theory that the reason that Metroman chose music is because his powers won't help him. If he wants to get better, he actually has to try and put in the work to practice.
That's the same theory I heard. Makes sense though. Like in Incredibles when Mr. Incredible found it hard working a desk job. Superman chose to be a reporter since he can keep updated faster on current events and didn't have to wait for something to be posted. Plus they get special excess to stuff not known to the public. He doesn't want higher positions because they don't actually go out and get the info and just wait for it to come to them. Better to be there in person and stop it then wait for someone to drive to the office and tell you what happened.

I love how even if you’re genre-savvy enough to predict the entire rest of the movie, the Megamind disguised as Metroman twist ALWAYS gets you. I don’t think I’ve seen a single reactor who guesses it until Megamind turns out to be Minion.
yeah the movie tries really hard to make it seem like Metroman's gonna come back to save the city from Tighten after his talk with Roxanne and Megamind, so that its a shock when it turns out he doesn't come back and doesn't team up with his old rival Megamind. I haven't seen anyone predicting the Megamind pretends to be Metroman twist either
Because Megamind knows Metro Man so well, he can easily imitate him. The only clue you have before the reveal are the eyes, but very few would pay that close attention, and then Tighten figures him out only because Megamind's weird way with certain words
If you wanna look back through the video, note the colours that Roxie wears. At the start, she's wearing Red, then as she starts coming around to Megamind as Bernard, what she's wearing changes to Purple. Then at the end, when she's accepted Megamind as he is, she's wearing Blue. Also, they cut out the mid credit scene: Bernard gets rehydrated in the washing machine and Minion has a go at Megamind for not emptying his pockets XD
I always wondered about that, it seemed to me that it was a gross oversight that Bernard was just sacrificed completely for the sake of the plot. Guess I should wait for mid/post credit scenes more often.
One of the details I really like about the relationship between Metroman is the implication that while he started out genuinely disliking Megaman, as he matured he began to let his "rival" share the limelight each time they clashed. You can practically see his off-screen character growth, right up to the point where he eventually realized that all the pretending wasn't healthy or sustainable. Every one of their altercations would've been so effortless and un-engaging for him, but he could tell just how hard Megamind worked to set things up, so more then just play along he actively encouraged the guy with banter and narrow escapes. By the time the film starts, he's gone from rich schoolyard bully to unspoken friend. Just because you start off as a smug asshole doesn't mean you have to stay one.
You put it better than I could. I absolutely love his character for that reason. Both he and Megamind have a great dynamic that I almost which we could have seen more of, but also love just how they balanced it within the story
Fun fact: Megamind's colors (Black and blue) are Metroman's colors (White and gold) in negative, and wise versa. Marking them as opposites visually. EDIT: Also, if you use a negative filter on Metroman, not only will he have a black and blue outfit, but a blue skin as well.
It’s interesting that the first character to experience some growth was Metroman. You see right at the beginning when he says “I often ask myself: who would I be with you?” and he looked genuinely conflicted for a second until someone said they loved him, then he snapped right back into character. Metroman’s growth led to Megamind’s growth.
@@Miner49er201the Joker doesn’t have power over his whole city, just over the underworld and parts of Gotham for a few minutes. Megamind is literally the overlord of Metrocity. He literally controls the IRS but still pays taxes apparently.
@@MageBurger Judging by you spelling it at "Metrocity", I can only conclude that this is one of Megamind's burner accounts to distract from his fear of the IRS.

Megamind is one of my favorite animated movies and it hurts my heart every time to think that it went up against Despicable Me (which had a similar premise) and lost - because Illumination had the Minions. I love all the Superman references too - although THE DISRESPECT from the group GAWD
the worst part for me was, i really did not like despicable me. and to this day i defend that, without the minion phenomena, that movie would've tanked hard.
i just noticed how megamind is different to other genius archetype characters like other genius characters are always "5 steps ahead" while megamind is smart in the present, he don't think much about the future, he's literally living and enjoying the moment
This movie is such a good example of “nice guy syndrome” where someone expects favors in return for doing nice things. That is not what true “niceness” is. The desire to do good, with no promise of reward. That is what being nice is about. I love this movie. The “Presentation” quote is the best.
yea, I loved how they immediately called out hal's behavior to be creepy and weird, because frankly, it is. roxie was clearly not into it, but yet he kept pushing.
Here’s the best way to look at Megamind, Metro Man and their effect on the world around them. They aren’t heroes OR villains. They are taking part in a school play and were assigned their roles. And they took both roles into being professional actors. It’s ALWAYS about the show, the presentation. Megamind’s methods never hurt anyone. It’s clear from how Roxanne treats his early threats. He wanted her to play her part, but like a show, it just LOOKS like she’s in danger. It’s all property damage, trolling…terrorism. But no one dies in this method. (You can’t possibly tell me he pronounces all those words wrong genuinely, and he just enjoys ticking people off by trolling them. He may be ostracized at school, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear people say these words.) He realizes he wants the other role, but he’s ASSIGNED his role, he can’t be another role unless he’s someone else. So he plays the director. And he made the WRONG cast choice but was too proud to choose someone else. He wants to escape not the show, but the tropes. He acts slightly entitled for Roxanne, but he is more saying I’m not ALLOWED to have these things because I’m the bad guy. You won’t LET me change. Metro Man straight up didn’t want this show anymore. He wanted another show. And one HE has to earn. Hence why he chose music. No physical training he always has done, no super power helping him do it, he has to actively learn how to play. And currently he’s awful and has to learn. Which is what he wants. Minion is more the backstage manager handling the costumes and helping the theatrics hit the perfect adrenaline. (Intentionally making those RIDICULOUS warm up times.) And when Megamind says he doesn’t want the role, Minion basically is saying the show may as well be canceled. Which it more or less was since all the cracks of the show WITHOUT Minion fell apart. Hal, was never in the show. He’s the camera guy. He WATCHES the show. He never played the role. He could only take what he assumed happened from watching. Metro Man got Roxanne because he saved her. Metro Man would never have died if he just put down Megamind. (There are MILLIONS of viewers that say that the hero should just kill the villain.) Not only was that untrue, but Hal never even fit in the roles in the first place. And showed exactly why someone LIKE Hal can’t have those powers. Because it’s not the power, it’s their control. And he has NONE. Because he never caught on this was a performance. He could act as he pleased because he wasn’t a character in the show. Roxanne realized as time went on how these guys saw their role and she decided to snap these people out with REALITY and not playing into their show. And it just kept getting her stuck in various versions until Hal was powerless, and she understood Megamind really was just as human as the rest of them.
I do think the mispronunciation is accidental, since 1) on the phone, Minion had to tell him its "hello" and then when pretending to be Metroman, he said Metrocity wrong, which tipped him off
A classic movie. Also, I just realized that Megamind and Metroman is basically Lex Luthor and Superman but a way less toxic rivalry with Tighten being kinda like Bizzaro (about as strong as Metroman/Superman but lacks intelligence stats).
Not really. I get what you’re saying but Lex Luther has a very specific characters. He despises aliens more than anything on earth and justifies that by presenting himself as human first. In reality he’d kill a human to kill an alien. Lex is also a billionaire.
@@Unknown-qj9sm His motivations have changed along with his characterization over the years, but Lex mainly covers up a deep envy of Superman ("I was supposed to be the 'Man of Tomorrow!'") with a crazy amount of sef-confidence. Which is almost justified, since he's supposed to be the smartest man on the DC Earth. He just can't settle for leaving Superman alone. He has to beat him, or his ego won't let him rest.
@@haha-lj5sqin reality, yeah, but if we're talking about the DC universe, you have to admit an alien threat is MUCH more likely. There's also the stories where it's quite literally both, with alien Ai lol
A theory on why Megamind was just kept in prison since infancy: his own safety. If the prison gave him up, the government wold be the first to snatch up the alien life form that couldn't yet advocate for itself and disappear it into some underground lab forever. The warden and any other prison official who watched over him from the beginning probably realized that and did the best thing they could in the situation. As long as Megamind was under the prison's jurisdiction, the government couldn't touch him.
I just love that Metro Man actually just took a moment (hah) to really look at himself and think about what he really WANTED to do, he didn't switch sides or go mad with power, he just looked at himself and decided he was happy just being music man.
I really like that both Metroman and Megamind were not bad people who had a lot in common but on opposite ends. Even their colors are the complete opposites of each other. And they clearly had a good and healthy relationship with Megamind also looking up to MetroMan lol Edit:My spelling
Metroman wasn't a bad person. Sure he was a dick and showoff as a kid (most have that phase), but he matured by the time we next see him as an adult. You can tell he saw Megamind as a friend later on as an adult. Their rivalry as hero and villain always came off as a gag you play with your friend. Their shenanigans always felt more like a stage play too lol. The best entertaining performers for a crowd ngl 😂
@@Filimaua13 That's what I said. And although he wasn't kind towards Megamind, he wasn't really a dick either. He was clearly loved and was a respected student and classmate. Probably desperate for attention if the short period we saw his parents had any effect on him. It's just him and Megamind having a rivalry that Megamind always loses in😅 And Megamind wasn't really liked by any of his classmates poor thing lol
When Megamind goes to get Roxanne after she finds out he’s been Bernard the whole time, and says “I can explain”, the camera slightly pans to show one of his “No you can’t” posters.
Superman is MEANT to be OP. When written well, his story is about him , despite his insane power, wanting to remain morally upright and be able to relate to normal people.
one punch man has shown that being OP is never the issue, its how the stories are told. spiderman is not op, but ask most CB readers how good his comics are now, and they will gladly talk about how trash it has become. for the last decade x-men was just garbage. and that can be said about many other heroes. anime has proven that you can make a story about ANYTHING and it be engaging. there are people who never even knew baseball, and yet fell in love with major. or people who just love slice of life stories where NOTHING happens.
@@marcosdheleno I agree with all of that except for Spider-Man not being OP. Superstrength, Speed, Intelligence, Agility, Tech, Spidersense, Ect. He's not superman but still very much op. His stories are, at least when done right, are about him using his powers Responsibly and doing the right thing. Holding back even when he doesn't want to. Balancing Hero work and a normal life. How much it can suck being a hero.... which is why a lot of modern spidey stories suck.
@@candlestone5397 when i was talking about him not being op, i dont mean him being weak. i meant him literaly being unable to fail without even trying. compared to OPM or most isekai/returner protagonists.
Fun Fact: in the beginning of the movie roxie dress is red, the opposite of blue, as she gets to know "bernard" her dress is shown as purple and finally when she and Megamind are shown in the end together she wears blue
Okay the Superman slander is crazy, Superman is the embodiment of what being a human is, that’s the difference between him and super markiplier, Superman is truly human when written correctly while the other has an ego one that Superman doesn’t have Superman is willing to sit with a suicidal person for days, spend months of earth to find 1 little girl, while metro man sees the people of metro city as a thing
3:51 no it’s not just Superman is OP. Superman is the Super Man. He’s the hero that defines what being a hero is. A well written Superman is that bar all the other heroes, even Batman in one way or another try to reach. He’s there to show you don’t need to be perfect, you don’t need to be the best, because often times Superman isn’t always either. But by working hard and sticking to your beliefs, you can at least try to be that.

Perhaps they added AC/DC as to poke fun at Iron Man’s use of it at the time of MegaMind’s release? Or the fact RDJ himself was to play MegaMind at one point, but couldn’t due to schedule conflicts.
megamind is perfect casting, i genuinely think RDJ wouldnt be able to make this movie better, in the same way, tom cruise wouldnt be a better iron man than RDJ.
Solid reaction to a fantastic movie. A brilliant subversion on the superhero genre. Megamind never was an evil person. He was just a poor rejected soul that was pushed to that role of a "villain" cos he never had any other purpose or place of belonging. But he never was a bad person. Roxanne's line to him in the rain "did you really think I would be with you?" just broke my heart. It reinforces his insecurities. Why he was a villain in the first place. Cos he has nowhere else to belong, no one would accept him. That line from Roxanne brought him back to that harsh reality, after enjoying the dream as Bernard. His act as Bernard is who he truly was underneath the villain act. An intelligent softspoken person who wanted nothing but a connection with people. I love the growth from both him and Metroman. With Metroman, he always seemed like that dude that was a showoff prick as an immature kid... but with maturity, he actually turns out to be a decent dude. His rivalry with Megamind later on after the childhood years always looked liked a constant gag you pull with a friend. Even if Megamind never got that vibe, they really were friends in the end. Metroman knew Megamind never was a bad guy either, which was why he was so proud to see him be the hero accepted by all. Hal (or Tighten lol), is the definition of the Nice guy. The man legit thought just being nice or the "hero" gave him the right to get the girl. Just shows he never saw Roxanne as a person with her own feelings and desires, but as a conquest that he was entitled to. Just cos he was Nice. As a kid I never saw the red flags from him. Even from way back in the very beginning of the movie. I just saw him as a goofy chill dude and comic relief. But seeing the movie now as an adult, yeeah no wonder Roxanne never gave him a chance. She definitely felt those vibes coming from him. Even with Megamind who was chucking buzzsaws and shark tanks at her, she felt more safe and comfortable to be herself. I never got the sense she felt comfortable being with him, much less alone.
One of the many lessons this film teaches is that there is a difference between being a "good guy" and being a "nice guy". Namely that the latter is prone to becoming an unhinged creep if they don't get their way.
this movie is awesome! every joke is so well-written it ends up landing every single time, even after tons of rewatches, and the plot itself is genius just like Megamind himself says... PRESENTATION!!
Metroman is such a good example of somebody who was made for something but never really wanted it. He did his duty and played the role but it was never actually his choice to make. I love that he saw the same in Megamind. He saw the lost kid who was forced into a role based on societal pressures, and so even though they were enemies, they were really actually friends the whole time. The were comforting each other in the roles they'd been forced to play by making a structure around it that made it easier to play. Until it wasn't
You really shouldn’t be so down on Superman. There’s a lot of poorly written Superman, but there’s also a lot of really good Superman stories. The best stories will never revolve around whether Superman can beat a villain, because if that’s the question, the answer is yes. The best stories revolve around whether he can save someone. For example there is a great section of All Star Superman where he has to talk a suicidal girl down from a ledge and does it completely without powers, just comforts her.
I'm kind of bummed you guys saw the subtitles for the Titan/Tighten joke. That reveal where it shows Hal lasered "Tighten" in the city made me laugh out loud.
4:04 oh no more superman slander. As a superman enjoyer it really shows how little people know about him because of a stigma they made in their head. That making new power stuff was back in the 50s.
Megamind named Hal “Titan,” and then Hal spelled it “Tighten” for a joke about his stupidity. The hanging pages in Roxanne’s apartment spell out “Titan.”
Fun fact: at the beginning of the movie, Roxie wears red, then switches to purple when she’s falling for Megamind, then finally at the very end she wears Blue to the opening of Megaminds museum thingy. Which I think is a really cool detail. Honestly this was one of my favorite movies of all time while growing up, and probably still is.
Megamind is to the Super Man mythos what The Incredibles is to the Fantastic Four. Basically one of the best versions put in film, just really capturing what's great about those type of characters.
It's one of the best Superman stories in that it shows that great powers don't make a man great or terrible. There is no real Superman-figure here, despite two sharing his power set, and that's beautiful
Everything I hear people calling superman a bad and boring character I get genuinely mad, he isn't, he us more than his powers. There are some amazing stories of superman where he flies to orbit and tells the world he loves it and waits on the top of a building with a child who was going to jump off the top. Superman is a symbol of hope and is a beautiful character.
You have no idea how happy I was when I saw this notification. I love Megamind and I’m glad you guys enjoyed. And also, David Cross that voiced Minion also voiced Crane in the Kung Fu Panda franchise!
fun fact if you pause during megamind is waiting for the weapon to kill metro man in the city. you can go frame by frame and see metroman show up for a second in megamind screen but metroman will glitch for a second. in real time metroman screen will glitch for a second
Btw this movie has many scenes that are pure gold but my favorite's gotta be when Megamind prompts Tigthen to initiate some witty banter and the guy's just *[angry screaming]* 😆 On another note, something I like is Roxanne starts to embrace her feelings for Megamind after finding out Metroman was actually alive, meaning the guy she loved wasn't actually a murderer. Obviously seeing Megamind risk his life to fix his mistake, stop Tighten, and save the city, were what probably confirmed she fell for the right guy but I'm pretty sure she was willing to give him a chance before that. Metrocity on the other hand, they never find out Metroman didn't die yet they all accepted Megamind cuz he saved them... they just forgot about Metroman or didn't care that their current hero had previously killed a hero huh
To their point near the beginning superman is already a fully developed character, that is the entire point, he is quite literally supposed to be nearly perfect
Ain't no way I heard guy in the top right say that Superman never gets character growth and gets new powers out of nowhere to deal with his problems. That's such a silly surface level observation of the character that it genuinely hurts. That's how I know he's never read a Superman comic in his life or watched anything Superman related 😐

The biggest travesty in animation the last decade was that this movie got pushed to the sidelines because Despicable Me came out like half a year earlier.
“Superman is honestly the worst superhero” everyone who ever says that meatrides batman for being edgy and complicated when his “no killing rule” is the dumbest thing to ever come out of comics.

Something i always love about this movie is that Megamind's actions show that hes not evil, hes never actually doing something because itll cause harm, but because he knows it attracts metro man, and for someone with super intelligence it must be boring to just do everyday things on earth so he needs to create elaborate traps and inventions so he doesnt go crazy. He could have definitely been a good person as a kid, and was a good person, but he realized that 1 noone wanted him to be good and 2 that it didnt matter because doing crime just sent him back to the only home hes had.
With all the different versions of Superman that have spawned over the years (many of which had the same idea behind them) I think the original superman is still better. There's a lot of stuff filmmakers and animators could do with him, taking an inspiration from so many comics.
I read somewhere that the music used in the movie is NOTORIOUSLY hard to get rights to due to copyright, so they just... used it without permission, in true villain fashion. At least, that's what I've heard. I could be wrong, but wouldn't it be hilarious if it were true?!
If I had a nickel for every time DreamWorks made a criminally underrated animated movie that was a parody/subversion of superhero tropes that I outright love to pieces, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird (and great) that it happened twice. (For anyone else wondering, the other movie I’m thinking of is Captain Underpants)
The cool thing about Megamind waiting for Tighten in his robot is that it plays Back in Black for his entrance then Loving You as he waits, because that's what the speaker was playing when Minion had it earlier at the start of the film.
The amount of superman slander in this video makes me el sadge, the only people i know or see who diss superman are usually the people who have only seen the live action films (which isnt a bad thing it just is what it is), people who have wanted the animated films and read the comics know that superman is amazing and it doesnt matter about powerful or strong he is physically, sure there are fights and etc, but the best part of superman is his heart, compassion and kindness. Parodies or edgy stuff with 'Evil' superman are just boring and completely miss the point of the character (most of the time, with metro man being among the few good parodies). I just really wish people would stop thinking superman is boring when hes great. Hes chill, likeable, down to earth and a kind soul, which stuff outside of animated films and comics very rarely get right. But still as always really liked the vid
I, seriously, love this film. It was such a fantastic subversion of all the typical superhero tropes. One of the things that was great about Megamind, himself, was that he was genuinely intelligent. He thought ahead and planned. He was quick on his feet and could improvise. When Roxanne was hinting he should look back, he got it instantly. And using his dehydration gun to save himself from the fall was beautiful. If I was to want anything added to this film, it would have been Metroman apologizing to Megamind for making him into a villain. Without his being a bully Megamind would have been an, entirely, different person, and Megaman could have ended their rivalry at anytime by owning up to his past. But, that would be, totally, out of character for Metroman, he is totally self-absorbed and, more than a little, narcissistic.
An Easter egg of movie is Rosie's Cloths. She starts out in Mega Mans color red, she later changes to purple a mix of red and blue when she is conflicted about her emotions, then ends in blue when she is totally with Mega man
I really like the fact that megamind, in his head, had the idea that if anything goes wrong to use the copper because its his weakness. But didnt use it when Tighten beat him, he fully accepted his loss and was ready to go to jail.
I love y'all but I will not be taking this Superman slander. Especially in the animated Justice League show, his character is awesome. He's a perfect balance of ultra-powerful, and country boy (or "boyscout", as Batman calls him), and is all around charming. His foil with Batman especially helps his character shine through, both of them having the same morals but different methods, and a fun brotherly relationship where their opposing personalities bounce off each other. The Christmas episode of that show is one of my favorites, showing Clark's insistence in believing in Santa (granted, he's real in the DC universe), and the fact that his parents wrap his presents in lead so he can't peek.
Megamind quickly became my favorite movie when it came out. I watched it so many times I could recite the movie as it played. Still love it as an adult.
26:14 - He is still dehydrated, actually! And they do address it again. Not sure if you watched the post-credits scene in the full reaction, but there is one where Minion is doing the laundry, and Bernard gets re-hydrated in the wash.
I will not stand for that Superman disrespect! Yall are looking at him wrong, Supes isn't about being put in a hard situation and changing to overcome it, like a traditional hero. The point is that an all powerful man who can choose to do or be anything chooses to be kind. He gets basically no character growth, because he's a paragon, what everyone is striving to be like. An inspiration to others, both within the story and irl. Plus, choosing not to change is also a character arc, so there's that
3:36 wow, this small short term of events hurt me lol. One said supes is his favorite hero which is dope because he's in my top 5. And then one calls him the worst. Lol

Megamind and metroman have an amazing implied slow burn enemies to friends arc it's great.
You just made me have a trauma reaction with the fucking dress with it.
I see everyone got reminded of that stupid dress argument because of this comment, not just me

What I love about Megamind is he 100% has the power to take over the city but will still do his taxes on time 😂
Not even the Joker f’s with the IRS.
I'm crazy enough to take on Batman, but the IRS? No thank you.

@@Miner49er201the Joker doesn’t have power over his whole city, just over the underworld and parts of Gotham for a few minutes.
Megamind is literally the overlord of Metrocity. He literally controls the IRS but still pays taxes apparently.

I think Megamind would have done a lot better if it didn't come out 4 months after Despicable Me. Everyone just thought they copied the idea.
the worst part for me was, i really did not like despicable me. and to this day i defend that, without the minion phenomena, that movie would've tanked hard.
2010 was a stacked year for animated films. Both of those plus How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, and Toy Story 3.
@@marcosdheleno nah that first movie is fun
i just noticed how megamind is different to other genius archetype characters like other genius characters are always "5 steps ahead" while megamind is smart in the present, he don't think much about the future, he's literally living and enjoying the moment
He may be ostracized at school, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear people say these words.)
He realizes he wants the other role, but he’s ASSIGNED his role, he can’t be another role unless he’s someone else.
@@Unknown-qj9sm it’s kinda crazy cause lex LOVES technology/ai, which is likely more of a threat than aliens.
@@Unknown-qj9sm
His motivations have changed along with his characterization over the years, but Lex mainly covers up a deep envy of Superman ("I was supposed to be the 'Man of Tomorrow!'") with a crazy amount of sef-confidence.
I don't think it's a coincidence "M(etroman)arkiplier became a youtuber after this movie released
I really like that both Metroman and Megamind were not bad people who had a lot in common but on opposite ends. Even their colors are the complete opposites of each other. And they clearly had a good and healthy relationship with Megamind also looking up to MetroMan lol

Metroman wasn't a bad person. Sure he was a dick and showoff as a kid (most have that phase), but he matured by the time we next see him as an adult. You can tell he saw Megamind as a friend later on as an adult.

It’s like what Superman said when (spoilers) Dan Turpin died at the end of Superman the animated series. “In the end, the world didn’t need a Superman, just a brave one.”

The fact MegaMind’s taste in music that ranges from AC/DC to Ozzy Osbourne and even Michael Jackson. That’s just wickedly good!
Bro, this movie was impressively ahead of its time. I mean, the main villain is literally an incel.
Namely that the latter is prone to becoming an unhinged creep if they don't get their way.
this movie is awesome!
every joke is so well-written it ends up landing every single time, even after tons of rewatches, and the plot itself is genius
just like Megamind himself says... PRESENTATION!!
i dont think i have ever seen a reaction of this movie that didnt laugh when the spider slap scene happens.

Oh hey now that you mentioned the Incredibles who would win metro man and Megamind or the Incredible verse?

These guys never had a child hood
If I had a nickel for every time DreamWorks made a criminally underrated animated movie that was a parody/subversion of superhero tropes that I outright love to pieces, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird (and great) that it happened twice.
(For anyone else wondering, the other movie I’m thinking of is Captain Underpants)
This is the eternal conflict the "Nice Guy" vs The nice guy.
My favorite thing about this movie is that the actual villain is just a creepy incel that refuses to respect that no means no
An Easter egg of movie is Rosie's Cloths.
Such an underrated masterpiece
Thank you. Couldn’t have said it any better

Why is nobody talking about how amazing Ben Stiller is. I didn't recognize him as Bernard at all.
Metroman had capes and costumes like Elvis. I think he wanted to be Elvis. And then his "mantle" (cape) of being the hero was passed on to Megamind.
Plus, choosing not to change is also a character arc, so there's that
I’m impressed with how many events in the movie they were able to predict. Great reaction
