    I currently live in PA and plan to buy a home up there next year. Can I apply at my local bank here for a mortgage, or must it originate with a NY bank? Mortgages always get sold on so I'm wondering if it makes any difference. Thanks.

      Hey! Good question - because of how “Hyper local” this market is, listing agents and sellers really like for a buyers pre approval to go through one of our local lenders. We have a hand full we can refer you to who offer just about everything you’ll need - but some of the reasons for this is because 1. The appraisers that get sent by our local lenders will be local appraisers - not appraisers out of Buffalo or Syracuse which could change things, as well as the listing agents like to know who the lender is, knowing they can trust that they’ll get to the closing table as well as have a real person in the same time zone that they can communicate with at all hours should it be needed.
