Rochester is a shithole. Syracuse is a shithole. Buffalo is a shithole. Utica is a shithole. Albany is a shithole. Plattsburgh is a REAL shithole. New York has some beautiful places, but the cities are horrible places.

Stay away from all areas North of 490 and West of 390. You're welcome.

At 9 minutes, TAXES, F that and NYS. I lived in Fairport, worked at Xerox, taught at MCC, got sick of the constant grey sky, rain and rust, long bone chilling winters with hardly any snow, mostly rain, the short, hot, muggy, humid, mosquito infested summers and blew that pop stand for San Diego with endless 72 degree summer time, no humidity, no bugs, world class downhill skiing from Thanksgiving usually into July with 50 plus feet of snow that make Lake Placid and Killington look like icy bunny hills, not even mentioning pathetic Bristol "Mountain". My home and yard are about the same size as my brother's back in Pittsford, his home is worth about $300k and taxes all tallied up are around $12k a year with terrible weather, my home in San Diego is worth about $1,300k and my taxes are less than $3k a year.

It has vacant store fronts. City is okay walking 🚶‍♂️. I'm from New York originally. I like taking the train, bus, or boat instead of driving to work. 🚍🚏🚉🚈🚇 I never like the winters in Rochester. The dating scene was never super kind to me 🙁. I got to get out of here 😆.

I lived less than a mile away from the noisy Tin Can factory they are standing in front off, probably the crappiest section of Fairport/ Perington. The usual weather, cloudy, is on full display. Was okay place to live in the 60;s and early 70's as a young boy and teenager. Weather changes on a dime, from hot and humid to cold and clammy, taxes are outrageous, vehicles rust apart within a few years, blew that pop stand in 1972 for Southern California, never looked back.

Rochester isn’t as bad as you think… I enjoyed living there. Cold as heck tho I had to move to the tropics in Africa. I miss them garbage plates! And Rocky’s Italian! - dope pizza…. All food from Rochester lol

If you’re living in an area where you have to keep your car empty and doors unlocked then you’re living in the wrong area. Most of Rochester is NOT like this. If you actually LIVED in Rochester then you’d know this yourself. Regurgitating things that your ‘friends’ have told you is nowhere near the same as knowing it for yourself.

I live in the Burlington VT area and own a condo. But I see a lot of nice houses in Rochester for under $125k with a garage or 2 car garage. Are the houses in that price range in safe areas? I don’t see your email address-could you provide that to me so I could pick your brain about Rochester. Looks like a nice place to live as long as you can steer clear of where the overwhelming crime is.

Hello, I'm thinking of moving to Geneva, and I really like it. My family has lived there for 15 years and they stayed because it's very quiet and many people are friendly.I only lived there for a year, it is very clean, there are no abandoned houses, and I love the lake it has a nice view....Thanks for your videos..

Think about the time you spent putting this click bait together. Apparently you can't leave here, so embrace it - is the winter brutal or mild? Pick a lane. Also, you sound trite when comparing us to Hawaii. Final thought - your sales pitch as a realtor is to tell people how much it sucks to be you and sell Rochester? Maybe time for a different gig.

Great idea regarding inspections. Once the word gets out, this benefit, might make your business explode.

Just closed last Friday on my house in the finger lakes. Paid under list price for a solid house in a good location. Seller wanted a quick close so I paid cash. Closed in under 30 days with inspection.

Great video. I agree with everything you said. Having built 7 new homes in in this area over the past 45 years, I can say that NONE of them were located within the City limits of Rochester. I never step foot in the City now. It's a good thing that there is really no reason to do so. Sitting back waiting for August 17th, to see the total nightmare take over the Real Estate world.

I think you needed to clarify that you were only featuring the better of the suburban districts that are not a part of the City of Rochester.

Don't move to Rochester. Move to Buffalo instead

I'm looking to relocate from Deltona FL to the Rochester area are you available to be our guide in buying? We love the city and need someone who is familiar with the area. We're looking for spring or summer relocation. I have a couple of wants but not ridiculous like fenced yard for the dogs, college to get my masters, and close to the job market. We prefer low crime and large backyard and a great finished basement. Preferably 3+ bedrooms. Brockportwo Would work for us but no HOA. We currently do a one hour commute to Orlando so if we can decrease that I'm satisfied.

Stay out of the city……… Unless you like your car stolen or carjacked or shot, Crime is bad. Stay in the country.

Theres a self-serve grape stand on the Keuka Bluff along with a cash box. That tells you alot about a community. In Buffalo, Hochul is spending $1 Billion fo construct a cover over Rt33. Absurd misuse of tax dollars while roads and bridges crumble, and cops quit and take jobs in Florida.

Geneva is a nice town also a nice bowling center called sunset . Just off 5 an 20 going towards waterloo across from byrne dairy

Do you know how many days does it take to rent an apartment in Rochester or to sell a home usually how many days would it take a real estate company in Rochester to rent or sale a home on average?

I was there yesterday and its really bad a allot of drug addicts in the streets such a shame because it's a such beautiful city with allot of potential this really was turn off for me seen all of this drug addicts and crazy people in the streets.

It seems odd that a place so far upstate is getting such competitive offers on houses.

It's cloudy and raining all the time everywhere now. Can't escape whack weather anymore.

I have a home in Geneva. I personally like the seasons of this part of New York, the cold does not bother me. I do despise the politics. But upstate is more moderate, which I approve of. Crime in Rochester is indeed a problem, but I have walked from Park Ave and East Ave throughout Downtown and back. I know it is not much, but I have never felt unsafe. Rochester is a beautiful city with excellent architecture that has unfortunately been ruined by a political party that has bred victimhood, poverty, and despair. Voting for a more moderate or conservative group of candidates would very likely help fix what the city suffers from.

But that crime is just a few bad apples right like all mayor cities and a few young people doing the wrong thing and the police and the authorities allowing them to do what ever they want to do? But the mayority of people are good working and going to school.

Nailed ot with Rochester winters. If you like winter, its too much like 6 months of early wet spring. If you hate winter its just winter with more rain. Its awful because of how mild it has become in one direction or the other Over the past 20 years its become more and more unpredictable and impossible to plan around.

Stop voting blue ???. We don’t in the numbers we are told to believe. Nobody is in favor of having 20k city school students at a cost of 50k per student.

Attending RIT this fall as an incoming college freshman. I am looking forward to a new setting for years to come.
