Moved here back in July of last year and loved the house prices until I found out the bidding wars. But still got a home for a nice price. I wonder if the value of homes will continue to rise with Rochester.

@@J-W.- yeah I talk about the “bidding wars “ quite a bit here - it’s the worst part! I think prices will continue rising tbh

How are them state taxes treating you all up there in New York these days? Plus the state and local sales tax and goodness knows what property tax is there these days. No doubt it's a beautiful area. I grew up in Canandaigua and it will always hold a soft spot in my heart, but I left a long time ago and even though there was a time when I thought I missed it enough to go back, it only took one winter and the accompanying electric bill to dissuade me of that notion. I always tell people I'm from Canandaigua and then I don't mind explaining exactly where it is and why I'm proud of my small town upbringing. It's a smaller world than you might think Anthony. Back in the 80's, during a port call in Pattaya Beach, Thailand while I was on deployment, I stopped in one of the many small open air bars that are in town. Striking up a conversation with the guy behind the bar, I found out he was American, had been a helicopter pilot in the Army during Vietnam and after he got out, ended up marrying a Thai girl and opening a bar in Pattaya. He was from upstate NY originally. Well, so am I. Where you from? I tell him Canandaigua. Where are you from? He tells me, get this, Pumpkin Hook NY. I know Pumpkin Hook. We knew some of the same people in Pumpkin Hook. Small, small world. Anyways, I enjoy your videos cause it's nice to see the old home town. Thanks and good luck.

Oh that’s awesome! I’ve been to Pattaya beach on deployment And actually met a Rochestarian there as well! It is a small world. Pattaya was a cool place. We traveled all through out Thailand, the well off and impoverished parts, it was cool to see!

@@kriema1970 haha it’s either me educating folks who are moving here for work or family and being productive, or the government using the area as a sanctuary city. Lol both things are going to happen, but at least I’m helping our local economy 😜
